June Homecoming Challege by Tammy

Design Team Member Tammy submitted this layout for the June HOMECOMING Challenge. She said:

I decided since my family is getting ready to relocate and find a new house, maybe I should use photos I have of our first house for the June Homecoming challenge. These pictures are from the day we moved out of our very first home here in Raleigh, North Carolina. The house has some very special memories, it was the first house my husband and I ever bought, plus it was the house where we brought two of our children home from the hospital as newborns. It was hard to sell it, but we just needed a little more space (like a house with a playroom for example!) In this layout I used both Bella Blvd and MME papers and embellishments. The blank chipboard in the lower right corner is for the exact date these pictures were taken, I just need to look that up! Now it's time to see what you can do for the June Homecoming Challenge!Posted by Picasa

I did this layout for the June Homecoming Challenge. Not much has changed with me since I was on the design team. I do have a new blog that can be viewed here: http://smokeyscraps.blogspot.com/

For this layout I combined my two favorite hobbies: crochet and scrapbooking. The photo is of my sweet little great-great-grandparents. Thanks for the challenge!

June HOMECOMING Challenge by Elizabeth

Design Team Member Elizabeth submitted this layout for the June HOMECOMING Challenge. She said:

My bio hasn’t changed at all since I joined the Scrap Our Stash design team – I’m just a bit older, that’s all.

The photographs in this simple layout represent what means home to me. Whenever I go away for a while, the first place I make for when I return is the back garden/yard. I drop my bags at the front door and make straight for the back door, I just have to check what plants are in flower and what changes have occurred in my absence. This is the view of it from the window to the left of my computer – the best view in the world! And, as you can see, my husband and our cat, are equally at home in the garden.

Thanks for looking,
Elizabeth

Here is a page I did for the Homecoming challenge.

We recently attended a family wedding where many family members from out of the country were able to attend. It really was a wonderful time and it was great to see the "elders" all together again. It was just like a homecoming. Everyone coming home to be together once again.

When I think of homecoming, I thought of our second home, the cabin! This is one of my favorite places to go. We go as many weekends as we can. Here I find peace and beauty in the outdoors and I also enjoy my scrapping hobby. I have my own little stash of supplies in a corner in the closet of my bedroom. I just cook meals and scrapbook, nothing else is pressing when we are at the cabin.

Bio~ I am a scrap o holic! Yes that is true. I am happiest when I am scrapping. I scrapbook almost every day as life permits. I would love to quit my full time job and scrap every day away. My life story unfolds in the pages of my scrapbooks. I have been scrapping since I was just a young girl, over forty years now. :0) Yes that is correct. I like to think that I am now a shabby chic scrapper. I love to ink the edges of my paper and give it the vintage look. I have come along ways from construction paper and rubber cement to beautiful pattern papers of every kind, colored acid free paper and mono adhesive. I AM the mono Queen! I love the stuff! Seriously. I have had the opportunity to be on a few design teams, I won 2nd place in the Skinny Cow scrapbook Contest earning a year supply of skinny cow products which was delicious by the way. LOL I have never been published but haven't submitted anything to become such. I am a full time Dental office manager, wife of 34 years, mother of two, grandmother of 3. I love life and I love to travel and I love scrapbooking!!

I was very happy to be a member of the Design Team at Scrap Our Stash! What a great opportunity. This layout highlights one of the big changes happening in my life these days! I'm going to be a Grandma again this August! This is my daughter's ultrasound photo. I'm very excited to meet my new granddaughter! If that isn't enough that's happening with me right now, I also have another daughter getting married this June! To say that my life is crazy right now is an understatement. I really haven't had much time for scrapping these days, but after all this excitement is over, I will have tons of new photos that I will be dying to scrap! Thanks so much to all who have supported me! Charlotte http://scrapsational-char.blogspot.ca/

Since I am new here my bio really hasn't changed. For this Homecoming layout:

This if the first time I tried printing on a transparency so some of the wording on here is a little blurry, but I thought this picture fit the theme the best. The tags on this layout are from a doll, and the star on the left hand side is really a little girls barrette. The photo is my mom's first cousin as he came home from the war. I have loved it since I first saw it.

I visited the blog known as 2 Kids and Some Paper where I found a really great layout that really caught my eye. You can visit at this location:http://twokidspaper.blogspot.com/2012/03/dolled-up.html and see if you like it as much as I do :) I chose to Deborahfy it a bit by adding a few extras in spots that called out to me and chose to create an all about me page talking about my love of color :)

Great challenge and I had fun with it!

May "May I?" Challenge by Ange

Design Team Member Ange submitted this layout for the May "MAY I?" Challenge. She said:

Hello!

Isn't this month's theme so fun? I love the idea of showing off the places where we find inspiration for everyone else to enjoy. I chose my friend and designer Aimee Kidd's blog. http://aimeekidd.blogspot.com/

She always has such beautiful and inspiring things to look at. (Looking for fab Father's day ideas? She just posted a totally cute one!)

But for this month's challenge I chose this layout to lift: Treasured Moment
http://aimeekidd.blogspot.com/2012/04/treasured-moment.html

The bright, fun colors and patterns pulled me in and then you see those sweet bike riding photos and all the fun embellishing, so I had to lift it.

As you can see from comparing my layout with Aimee's, I kept the same basic design, but with different papers, and stars where flowers were, it makes a great page about a busy boy.

Lots more details about this layout on my blog. I would love for you to stop by.

May "MAY I?" Challenge by Karen

My LO is based on the work of Sasha Farina- she is a member of the Crate Paper design team and I always love their blog for inspiration
her personal blog is here

http://www.sashafarina.com/

My inspiration came from a particular LO- here
http://www.sashafarina.com/2011/10/emotional-scrapper.html

because I loved the butterfly and the sweep of things across her page but I was also inspired by other LOs and used her layering techniques, her long titles with a mix of letters and her small photos

Hope this is OK

May "May I" Challenge by Stacy H-W

Hello everyone!!  Stacy here to share my May I project with you today.  As soon as I heard of this challenge I immediately knew who I was going to be inspired by because I am inspired by her everyday.  Denise at Lala's World Blog is one of the most exciting, inspirational scrappers I know.  She actually is the person who introduced me to scrapping.  I can't believe that 2 years ago I had never scrapped!!

For this challenge I went to Lala's World and when I scrolled down I found the perfect layout to  scraplift.  I really just loved the use of circles and the soft feel of her work.  I decided to make a layout using a photo of our daughter.  We adopted her from China and the photo is from the time while we were waiting...us in the US....her in China.
Layout made by Stacy at Scrap with Stacy (with a little help from her dd in the photo)

As you can tell I used the same basic layout but did change a few things.  I used a ton of flowers from my stash.  I am laughing because I just realized that my daughter added that pink flower bling to the middle of the center circle.  I guess she didn't think I was quite finished!! LOL  She is 4 years old now and really into bling.  She told me multiple times today that she loved my paper (meaning she loves my layout).  I'm glad she likes it since it is for her book.

I hope you are inspired to join in on this challenge and I hope you pop over and check out all the great projects that Denise has on her blog.  You won't be sorry you did!!

Until next time...happy scrapping!!!

I chose this beautiful layout by Sherri Tozzi:

Here is my layout:

I have been struggling with these photos because she is wearing a hot pink shirt and the background is rusty red colored bricks.  Nothing seemed to work.  This was the perfect solution.  I fell in love with this layout and chose neutral colored papers which compliment my photos instead of clashing with them.

For my "May I" challenge layout, I asked my uber talented friend Lisa at Recklinghausen Musings if I could scraplift her "4 In 2009" layout. I loved the four photo grid design and the awesome twine embellishment detail she makes quite often on her pages! Here is my project for the May "May I?" challenge. As soon as I read about this month's challenge, I thought about Miss Smith. I am an avid follower of her blog for the simple reason that I admire her work, I might be her biggest fan! :) So I asked her if I could create a page based on this one here: http://www.journalofcuriousthings.co.uk/2012/03/ill-fated-trip.html
 and she has kindly agreed!

As you can see, I stayed pretty close to hers, borrowing the overall design but also some of her great elements like the banner, the mixed alphas and her "trademark" layering + paper clips.

I love the result of this lift!

Thank you once again for the chance of guest designing for Scrap Our Stash this month and thank you Kirsty for allowing me to borrow some of your talent!

May "MAY I" Challenge by Charlotte

Design Team Member Charlotte submitted these layouts for the May "MAY I" Challenge. She said:
This was a really fun challenge for me because one of the things that I love best about scrapping is that there are so many great artists and blogs out there that provide us with inspiration. I used a layout done by Lynn ( aka scrappyhappymom) that she did of her very cute puppy . Here is the link to her blog with the layout of hers that I used. http://scrappyhappymom.blogspot.ca/2012/04/this-is-what-life-is-all-about-scrapfit.html

What I loved about the layout that I scraplifted is that it had a really fun style. I tend to be very linear when doing layouts and I loved that everything was at an angle. I think it adds a really "fun" feel! I also loved the spray of embellishments across the bottom of her layout.
