We Did the Mash.....

I know that I'm late with posting
my Monster Movie Bash
but I had some family obligations that had to come first.

(Get well Thomas....luv ya.)

Okay....
Now on to the good stuff.....
Let's start with the house.
The theme this year was
Haunted Mansion.
Old and creepy....
just enough to give you the heeby jeebies.

Every old mansion has a family cemetery...
ours was no exception.
Everyone's here...even the family dog.

Mr. M said we'd be together forever.....
I guess he really meant it.

A distant cousin....
You know the kind who always seem
to "pop" up in photos making bunny ears?

Meet the family.........
In the middle is Madame Alida...fortuneteller supreme.

Sir Alexander
Head Zombie and guardian of the mansion.

Terrible Taylor....
died in a horrible accident.
Now pulls her wagon behind her
looking for playmates.
(really creeped the guests out...)

Aliyah....
our closet skeleton
(cuz everyone has at least one...)

Morgana.....
Vampire vixen.
Seduces all of her meals.

Little Toriana...
Morgana's baby sister
fresh from a snack.

Krystan...
our wandering hippie that stumbled into the mansion
in 1968.
She decided to stay and we let her...
she keeps us supplied with organic blood.
(It's good for the environment.)

Father Jenkins...
Arrived in 1936 to exorcise the mansion.
He wasn't successful.

The Sacrifice......
This is my twin sis Misty.
She was getting on my nerves...so she had to die.
(all makeup was done by her...kuddos...she does fantastic work.)

The Mr. and Mrs.
and owners of the mansion.
Mr. M keeps the grounds and our plots
well groomed.

Newlywed and Dead....
(Mr. M's  black eye looked soooooo real
I actually thought he had hurt himself.)

The guests were treated to a lavish spread to include....

Mice under glass

vintage elixirs

.
Aresenic apples, candy and cookies to fatten little children

(To the left are demon knuckles...extra spicy)

Bloody popcorn in a blood smeared bowl

Pus pockets....mmmmmmmmm

A crowd favorite...

Serving ware...slightly used.

It only makes them think they are safe...

a watchful crow to guard the delicacies...

Ghosts were spotted throughout the house.

We monster mashed....and mashed...and mashed...

Until the wee hours of the night.

Blood, Guts, and Halloween Gore

So...........
I come home last night from work
in time to kiss Mr. M and wish him a good night.
(He was working a graveyard shift.)

It was going to be my son, Shuga and me all night.
I was settling in, doing normal household activities
(opening a package of sausage for Shuga....)
when I look down and see blood........
EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!

Apparently, I've cut my finger....like the tip of it........almost off.

(Shuga's having a field day licking the blood off of the floor....ewww.)

I call Mr.M who says go to the ER.
What?!?!?!
I just left there...I'm not going back.

(I'm an ER nurse for all of you who are new to reading my blog.)

(Shuga is still following me around...licking blood off the floor.)
As hard as I try, I just can't get the bleeding to stop
(nor can I get my dog to stop either....geeesh.)
So.......
I now have this.

Nice, huh??

It is kind surreal to be a patient where you work.
I knew exactly what was going to happen and what
I needed to do, but it just didn't come to mind at the time.

Supah doopah thanks to Monica,
Nure Practitioner and girlfriend
for hooking....errr sewing me up!!!

(I kept the pics fuzzy for the weak stomachs out there

I will be off for a few days to get ready
for my big Halloween party.

first of next week.

I do want to say "THANK YOU"

Boo!!!!!! Right Back At Cha........

I've been BOO'd!!!!!

Not in a bad way
(like if you bomb at the Apollo theatre)

but by Mindy with Primitiques and Poetry.

It got me to thinking........
I have a lot of "boo"tiful things around the house for Halloween.

(corny...I know...I couldn't help it.....sorry.)

It started with this little lady that was sitting at my back door in an urn.
She didn't want anything extravagant
and being carved with sharp objects
did NOT sound like her idea of a good time.
So, I added a simple mask and she was good to go.

Such a diva!!!!
She insisted I shoot her from her best side....geeesh.

My front door showed off it's normal Radio Flyer
and greenery basket, but I noticed that my pumpkin friend
had invited a few relatives.

This fella wanted to stay incognito
(since he's so popular this time of year and all...)

There ALWAYS has to be someone
that just HAAAASSSS to be different
(and difficult...sigh.)
Apparently, this one just couldn't stand
the thought of wearing what everyone else
had on.....
(Who knew pumpkins could be so demanding?)
He got a glittered "BOO" sign and now everybody's happy.

Mindy was so sweet to "Boo" me and present this spell for me to work my bloggy magic....

You Have Been BOO'd The air is cool, the season is fall,Soon Halloween will come to all. Ghosts and goblins, spooks galore...Tricky witches at your door. The spooks are after things to do,In fact, a spook brought this "BOO" to you. The excitement comes when friends like you,Copy this note and make it two. We'll all have smiles on our faces,When we see who Boo'd who's places

I now have to "Boo" four other friends in return.

Grabbing my wand...
(wait..that's a fairy....)

Breaking out my crystal ball...
(hold on...that's a gypsy...shheeesh.)

Okay...Pulling out my cauldron and black cat.
(Finally!!)

Lilia with 2 Brown Eyed Beauties

Polly with Sassafrass Stuff

Leann with The Vintage Laundry

2 chippys

Okay....let's keep this going and see how far it reaches in blog world.

Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble

As my party plans are becoming finalized,
I've decided to turn my attention to more decorating for Halloween.
Tabatha, my beautiful hutch that I rescued,
asked if she could come to the party too.
I told her of course but that she would need to have a costume.
Tabatha immediately informed me that she wanted to
attend the party as a Witch's Cupboard.

I started her transformation with many items
that I found around the house.

I decked Tabatha in the finest Witchery I could
including a cast iron cauldron.
No witch in her right mind would be caught without one.

She needed several necessary ingredients for spell casting
such as decomposing mushrooms
picked from my enchanted backyard.

Several poisoned fruits
that were neatly canned for the giving.

Poisoned apples are a staple in witch's pantry.
(My seven year old thought these were the coolest)

Bones and skulls for grinding.

Bottles of poisons and elixirs
(including Patron..witch's need to relax too.)

I added architectural elements as well
since Tabatha and I both love architectural finds.
A glass jar holds the doorknobs
to the closets of little children.....spooky.

A witch gotta have friends too...
like this lil fella.

A cute little crow to keep a witch company
and announce visitors.

( He gets on her nerves though. All he ever says is "Nevermore")

Tabatha thinks she needs some security
to protect all of her witchy goodies
so she hired this big guy to stand guard.

Tabatha's all ready for her Halloween debut.
I love the eerie look she has now and she is more
thrilled with her new do.
