yet more cards...

I've trawled through my picture files and I THINK these are the last ones to show you!

A few Easter ones that I missed the other day:

More stitchery ones.....this first one was for my Aunty Pat's birthday. She used to have a Yorkshire terrier called Pepper, so when I spotted this design I knew I had to try it for her!

MAY have got a tad  OTT with the adhesive gems on this one. I sent a similar one to Asta for a Good Luck In Your New Home card!

I like the simplicity of this one:

I like this next one, even though it took longer than most because of all the different 'bits'.
I love the cat looking in the window, and the blossom!
I sent this one to Feronia, in Australia.

This was a thank you card for friends of Bob's in the USA:
They sent him stuff.
Lots of Bears/dogs/cats/people sent Bob stuff.
(And Dilly).
They get more mail than me!
here's the reverse:

An old 'Penny Black' image finally used, with puffy stuff in the middle of the flower:

OK I *think* that's it, all up to date now.

I have LOTS more toppers done but would you believe I've run out of blank cards?! (But not envelopes, strangely!) I have tried to fold A4 card that I have but it splits along the fold, so not suitable, blast!
I shall have to go shopping!
I can't remember where I got the best ones from..... Paperchase used to stock some lovely ones but the branch here doesn't any more. I'll go windowshopping online one evening! Let me know if you know of any bargains anywhere, won't you?!

a few more cards

Continuing my update on cards I've made quite recently.

I made the 'toppers' for most of these last year; the images are from 'Lily Of The Valley' I think, and came free with a magazine as uncoloured images ready to colour and cut out.

I made these cards just after Scooter was ill at the beginning of this month, when I was first staying up nights with him. That first night, it helped me focus on something else.

Luvbug took most of these with him to Ireland, where his mum bought most of them, and kept others to sell on. This greatly helps with materials, and paid for the online art course I signed up for; thanks, Mrs M!

First a few more stitched cards-

Now the LOTV ones.
I love this first one, it was one of my favourites.

I kept back this next one and sent it to my cousin, Emma, last week for her b'day:

This one is a little different but because of the many metal brads it's heavy and, as unsuitable for youngsters, I kept it back from the pile that was to be sold....

Here's the pile that went to Ireland.

Still a few more to post....
next time!

Update on cards

I've been posting photo's of cards on my Facebook page, as it is quite quick to do.
Blogger keeps urging me to switch to the 'new interface' and even put me there once, but I switched back! I don't like the new editing thingy! But maybe this is why it is slow to upload photo's, and even crashes sometimes.

Anyway, here I am, up at 4am again (oops) with Scooter on Mouse Watch at the kitchen door (every now and then he comes over and moans at me cos apparently there's something I CAN do to produce mice I'm just NOT doing it). Thought I would try to upload a few card photo's.

I'll do a few here, then schedule some more to come up on other days.

First, here are some of my Easter cards:

(this went to Miss Peach's mum, Karla. That's Peachy up among the stars.)

(This went to my cousin Jacky who is almost as cat mad as me. It's a Lesley Anne Ivory decoupage. I so pleased to find out that her designs were available like this at last. This was a very deep 3D card, with about 5 layers, I think.)

Right now I have to find what file the others are in.....

All different cards....

I posted earlier today about how I've been doing head-wise and stuff, so scroll down if you're up to the heavier stuff!!! Meanwhile, here are some cards that I've made for people over the last month.....

This first one is a birthday card for Luvbug's mum, Oonagh. She's a lovely lady and always makes me giggle......

This is a First Holy Communion card for Luvbug's niece, Yolanda. (The exotic name is because her daddy is from Nicaragua!)

I really enjoyed doing some embroidery again. I took a pattern from an old book on blackwork embroidery and turned it into a cross....

Something completely different next, for the Confirmation of one of Luvbug's nephews....

Now a Dufex decoupage card. I've seen Dufex for sale on a craft channel on TV and it's true what they say- you really don't get to see the depth of the engraving unless you see it in real life!

As this was a peachy coloured cat, I sent it to Miss Peach. I was very happy when I heard that she loved it :)

Another Dufex decoupage puss-cat went to Yolanda, for her birthday:

Lastly, here is another decoupage birthday card, for my friend Josephine's mum. I've known Jo since we were 8 years old!
Decoupage has its critics, but I find it so relaxing to do. This last card is my favourite. It has 6 different layers of coloured card/paper and 5 layers in the flowers which doesn't really show in this photo... Luckily, Jo paid us a visit on Sunday so she was able to take it with her to deliver in person this weekend. I was worried it would get so squished in the post!!!

I think I'll do a bit more sewing. I enjoyed that......

Bye for now!

Post 333!

I've just spotted that this is post 333 on my blog! If three is a lucky number then maybe today will be lucky for me. So far I have twisted my knee! Good start! But the cat food I ordered has been delivered, so that's something. At least I don't have to go for a walk or a bike ride to get them something else, limping along as I go.

Things have calmed somewhat since a week ago. Sorry for that little outburst. Thanks, as ever, for your support....

Over the course of a couple of evenings I've put together the following cards. Sometimes I sit and do the pictures, other times I assemble them. Occasionally I do the whole thing start to finish in one go. I've been pootling through them in front of the telly, with mum watching tv and Luvbug on his pewter..... cats off asleep somewhere: Fluffy in her new grocery box (she's lots better, by the way) and Scooter on his blanket in the window...... sounds idyllic? Well, it only lasts for an hour or so but yes, it's ok.....

These are little cards that I made for my box, as I didn't seem to have any notecards for myself, for when I write to people....
I made this next one the other night for Luvbug's brother-in-law, John, who has a birthday this weekend. It's much larger, at A5. I've put glaze on the dogs' noses to make them glossy :)
Lastly, here is my first Christmas card for the year (aaaaarghhh! Nooo!! I said the C word!!!!)This image is a stamp by Elzybells. Sadly, this is another stamp shop that is closing down. She is hoping to sell off all her stuff by the end of this month. Nip over and have a look, see if you can help her out! There are still some goodies there, and all greatly reduced in price. This stamp is red rubber and was only a few pounds. She also does inkpads, etc.

I'm not a 'scrapbooker' and have never got into that 'branch' of crafting. But one thing I've started lately is 'memory books' for my mum, as very often she will enjoy a day out and then not remember it a few weeks later. I suppose this is sort of scrapbooking, as I've been writing next to the photo's and sticking in all sorts of decorations, just to make it nice for her. I'll get some pictures of some of the pages and show you next time ;) All you seasoned scrappers and book artists can give me some advice!
