Sassy Cheryl #112 - April Showers

This week Sassy Jeni has challenge us with the theme "April Showers".  I had a few options, but remembered that I had this older image called "April Umbrella" in my Sassy Cheryl file.  I think she looks so forlorn and sweet.  I am still adjusting to a new computer system and printer so the image printed out much larger than I expected.  I adjusted the card size to compensate - 4.5 x 6.25.  I've wanting to experiment with the gray shade coloring and had fun with this one.

Check out all of the great DT samples for this challenge on the Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog.  Thanks for stopping by to take a closer look!

Sassy Cheryl Show Me #73

My Mom's Clematis

My Mom's rose bed

I thought I would share a few more photos from my recent trip to visit my family.  Their growing season is several weeks ahead of ours in Alaska.  My Mom has a beautiful rose bed on the south side of their house where it gets all of the great sunshine.  Of course, I could NEVER get these beauties to grow at my house!  The blooms on the clematis were as big as my hand!  Beautiful!!

Hope you are having a super week!  Be sure and snap a couple of pictures of what is going on in your world.  The nosy Sassettes would love for you to share!  Check out the details HERE.

There She Goes Sketch Challenge 153

This is my submission for this week's sketch challenge over on the There She Goes blog.  I used "Loads of Fun" for this card.  Most of the clothes were paper pieced and I sponged the cloud background.  The fence die is from My Favorite Things.  This is also for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges - using black cardstock.

Supplies:  Card stock - Stampin' Up basic black, kraft and white and Basic Grey Olivia .  Spellbinder Nestibilities Wonky rectangles.  Ribbon and Prima flower.

Show Me #72

Sorry I missed last week's Show Me!  I'm back again this week and sharing a couple of family photos from my trip to visit with family.  My grandpa went home to be with the Lord on April 12 at age 89.  I went home to be with my grandma and help celebrate his homecoming!  It was a wonderful time with family and friends.  Of course, we mourn and miss him but he is now with the Lord and his Savior Jesus Christ.

The first photo is of me and my sister with her two girls - Olivia and Ellie.  The second photo is my newest niece, Ellie Jo, age 6 weeks.  She is such a good baby.  It was such a blessing to get to spend a few days with them and all of my family!

I hope you have a creative week.  Enjoy your loved ones!!

Sassy Cheryl #110 - Anything Goes

This week Sassy Peggy set the theme for the Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge as "Anything Goes". I bought the Memory Box Madison Window die and flower box a few weeks ago. I thought it would make an adorable scene with the Sassy Cheryl image "Just a Little Hello".
The image was colored with Copic Markers. The "house" was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The flowers, window and flower box are all from Memory Box. The "curtains" were made with Spellbinder Scallop Circle nestibilities.

I am also submitting the post to Cheryl's "Show Me" challenge for this week. I have another fun vintage ad to share. I'm not sure where I got this one, but thought it might be cute for a vintage Mother's Day card.
Thanks for stopping by to take a look! Hope you have a creative week.

Mo's Digital Pencil - Challenge #129 Anything Goes

This week's challenge over on Mo's Digital Challenge blog is "Anything Goes". I had Mo's "Big Chair" already colored on my desk and thought it would be perfect for this week's challenge.

I browsed the FB Gallery and found a few easel cards with this image. I thought I would give it a try. The image was colored with copic markers then cut out with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle die cut. I combined it with papers from October Afternoon Fly a Kite and Thrift Shop. The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with Spellbinder Oval nestibilities then layers on Fancy Tags Two. The flower die is from MFT.

This card will probably go out to my sister this week. She lives over 2000 miles away and just had my second niece! My first beautiful niece is 22 months old and inspired the card. They are a handful, but SO sweet.

Sassy Cheryl #109 - Soft Pastels

This week's Sassy Cheryl Digi Stamps Challenge is Soft Pastels. I don't naturally gravitate toward pastel colors so this was a challenge for me this week! I printed "Sassy Sally Takes A Bath" twice and paper pieced the tub.

The sketch for my card is from the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog challenge. Sassy Cheryl is sponsoring their challenge this week. I couldn't resist playing along!

Sally was colored using Copic Markers. A layer of paper glaze was applied to the bath bubbles. The base card stock is Blushing Bride from Stampin' Up! The designer papers are October Afternoon Ducks in a Row. The sentiment is from Amuse.

Sassy Cheryl Show Me #70

It's time again to share with the Sassy Cheryl Show Me group! If you haven't played along before it's easy. Just post a photo of what's been going on this week. Cheryl will give one lucky person credit to the Sassy Cheryl digital shop. Easy peasy!

I am sharing my craft space tonight. I have a couple of completed projects and the start of a Sassy Cheryl project. I also received my goodies from My Favorite Things today! Woo-Hoo! Can't wait to play!

I'm also including a retro Rubbermaid ad from a 1953 edition of "Household". I don't remember where I picked up the magazine, but it has some fabulous ads. I was experimenting with my scanner tonight and thought I would share. I LOVE these colorful adds from the 50s! Maybe you can include it on a card as is or cut it down to just to kitchen scene. Either way -- Vintage Fun!

Thanks for stopping by! I always enjoy reading your comments. Let me know if the vintage ad is of interest. I'm hoping to post more.

There She Goes Sketch Challenge: TSG150 Metal Embellishment

I had so much fun participating in my first There She Goes Challenge that I am playing again this week! Candace has challenged us to make a project or card using metal embellishments.

I used metal brads as an embellishment. The image and sentiment are from the "Loads of Fun" set. The Spotlighting technique was used with the laundry basket image. It's a really fun technique with an effective result. This card also uses the color challenge combo from Splitcoast Stampers: Peach Parfait, Pool Party and Lucky Limeade.

Supplies:
Stampin' Up! In-Colors and designer papers. Base is Gina K Pure Luxury 120 weight.
There She Goes "Loads of Fun" stamp set
Cuttlebug embossing folder, Copic Markers and Memento ink

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Have a great week.

There She Goes Sketch Challenge: TSG149

While checking out the recent release for There She Goes Clear Stamps, I came across their weekly sketch challenge. Sketch challenges are definitely my favorite so I thought I would give it a try!

Below is my take on this week's sketch:

I used "Loads of Fun" by There She Goes. This is such a fun set and perfect for any domestic diva! I always like having a few Anniversary cards handy and this was the perfect combo of image and sentiment. The designer paper is from Lime Twist Life of the party paper pad and SU Chocolate Chip card base. I added a baker's twine and machine stitching for the finishing touches.
