Sweet Birthday Wishes

Good morning! Sorry I have updated my blog in so long, I had family visiting, the flu for over a week, and just general life in the way of my stamping time:)

But I did sneak some "me" time in and created this fun card using some new Reverse Confetti goodies!

The papers and flower die cut are from MME. The sweet and birthday wishes are from the adorable new "Sweet Thing" set. The arrow stamp is from "Crushin"

I also used the new doubled edge scallop border die and the love note die, these are staples you'll need for every card! I stamped "birthday wishes" on a flag I cut out with the die from Tag Me.

I also sprayed a white doily with some turquouise spray from Heidi Swapp, I love how it came out all shimmery!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, hop on over to the Reverse Confetti blog to see the happenin's or to the Reverse Confetti Store for a little shopping:)

Beauty-full Day!

I have a quick card to share that I created using some of my TCM goodies to enter their guest designer challenge.

The challenge is birthday themed, which is lucky for me because I'm trying to beef up my bday card collection:) Here's my card using stamps from Fly Free!

I sure had fun with this one, used papers from Rosy by MME, some twine, some flat back embellies from Michaels, and lots and lots of layers! I played with last week's Deconstructed Sketch again to create this card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Viva la Verve, Birthday Wishes!

IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!! Yahoo! Anyone else looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend? I am!
Are you going to carve some time our for stamping in your weekend? A weekend wouldn't be complete without a little crafty time;) Would you like a challenge to jumpstart your mojo? How about playing along with our Viva la Verve sketch challenge!

Andrea came up with this fun little CAS beauty and I hope you play along!
Here's my card using a few different goodies from Verve:

Ooooh I had so much fun creating this card! When I saw Andrea's sketch, I knew this is what I wanted to do and it came together just right!

I cut a butterfly using the All Aflutter die out of the white cardstock and used the negative as my focal point. The background strips are simply strips of cardstock scraps I had laying around. I stamped the sentiment (from Making a Statement) in black ink, and added some buttons and twine. I sewed some zigzags on the strips for a little added interest. The corner dies are from MFT, I just can't resist using then on EVERYTHING:) The flourishes you see are from Thankful Accents! Those are fun little stamps to kind of dress up a card and add some surprising details:)

Okay, well come play along with us in the Verve Forums! Can't wait to see what you do with this sketch!

The Deconstructed Sketch #40 - Birthday Wishes

The Deconstructed Sketch DT

Hello! It's Thursday which brings us not only closer to FRIDAY but a new sketch as well! I think you're going to LOVE this week's sketch:)

Lots of possibilities with this one so if you have a free hour or so, play along with us! Here's my card using "Sending You" by PTI-

I started out with this piece of patterned paper from Authentique, and then went through my PTI stamps, since it's been SOO long since I've pulled them out! I thought I'd stamp this big flower to match the flowers on the paper, it turned it just like I was hoping! I stamped the flower on a die cut from Mat Stack 1 and then added the leaves and button.

I hope you can play along with us this week:) Stop by Jen's blog to see samples from the rest of the girls and our FABULOUS Guest Designer, Amy!
Thanks so much for stopping by today:)

Take a little peek at each of the fabulous blogs below for some Verve-alicious eye candy and you just might win some Vervey goodness of your very own!

I decided to mix this week's Viva la Verve! sketch challenge with a couple stamp sets that haven't seen ink in awhile:) In case you haven't seen the new VLV July Week 1 sketch yet, here it is--

I think square cards are my favorite, mostly because I love the symmetry. They're so fun! I really like this sketch and think you will to. It's perfect for using those smaller stamps, or maybe even some flowers, or just squares of patterned paper. Lots of ideas, so I hope you play with us this week:)

Here's my card using the sketch and our July Stamp of the Month, Carpe Cupcake!

I stamped all the cupcakes on the punched squares, and then stamped them again on random patterns from MME's Happy Go Lucky paper pad. I colored the cupcake bottoms with my Copics and then paper-pieced the tops. The sentiment is from Birthday Bash, another really fun birthday set with lots of fun stamps.

Now it's time to hop on along to the BRILLIANT Amy's blog! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Welcome to Day 3 of the Verve Stamps Anni-VERVE-sary release week sneak peeks! WHEW! That was a mouth full, lol! Can you STAND all these cute new stamp sets? I almost swooned when I opened my package of all these beautiful stamp sets, Julee outdoes herself EVERY time! I'm loving these two sets we're peeking today, what's more fun that cake, balloons, cupcakes and super fun sentiments? NOTHING, lol!

For my card today, I used one of the Anni-VERVE-sary release week sketches!
If you make a card with each of the sketches, you could win BIG! More details on that in THIS THREAD!

Here's my card:
The cake, balloons, and sentiment are from Birthday Bash and the sprinkles on the cake are from Carpe Cupcake!
The card base is white. I sewed a Riding Hood Red layer (embossed with my Seeing Spots Cuttlebug folder). The Pink Pirouette piece was stamped with the cupcake background builder, I stamped it in light pink so you can BARELY see it, but that's the effect I was going for:) Don't you love the font in the sentiment? Seriously, love this set!

Want MORE???? Check out the rest of the Diva's blogs for more sneak peek eye candy! You can find the participating Diva's by going to the Verve Blog!

It's time to CELEBRATE!

No special reason, other than it's UNITY THURSDAY!:)
I still don't have my KOM so unfortunately I don't have any fun KOM creations for you, but I DID pull out my favorite bday set, "It's Your Day" I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch for the layout, isn't if fun?
I love the polka dot paper! It's from MME in the collection called Garden Party. You can't really see the sparkle, but I used some pink glass-shard glitter on the cake, it's super sparkly! I aged the card a bit with Old Paper Distress Ink, it's one of my fave distress ink colors. JUST enough dirty to make it look soft and vintage:) The ribbon is Spring Rain by PTI, as is the blue cardstock!

That's it from me today, I'm off to watch more Dexter!:)
Make sure you stop by the Unity Blog to see what kind of fun and sales Angela has waiting for you! You'll also see a list of the other DT girls who have worked hard to bring you more fabulous-ness:) MWAH and have a GREAT day!

Masculine Sketch Challenge

Well good morning friends *if you're out there! It's been quiet in blog land lately!*
Today's Sketch Challenge on SCS is FANTASTIC and my Father-in-Law just happens to have a bday coming up! Go figure, the girl with boxes FULL OF CARDS can't find a masculine bday card *rolling eyes*. Oh well, gave me an excuse to stamp:D
I pulled out some of my favorite old Papertrey Ink stamp sets for this one!

Making the card:
1-create card base out of 5.5x8.5 piece of cardstock (scored at 4.25)
2-cut piece of Spring Moss cardstock 1/8" shorter on both sides
3-Cut piece of dp from Everyday Blessing pack by PTI to another 1/8" shorter and adhere to Spring Moss piece.
4-Cut piece of dp from Everyday Blessing pack by PTI to 2x5.25 and cut with Spellbinders Piercabilities.
5-Stamp sentiment from Birthday Basics on dp.
6-adhere ribbon (from MM pack) and add 3 Rustic Wood buttons by PTI, tied with Jute string.
7-Stamp tree from Father Knows Best in ripe avacado and trunk in Rich Cocoa by Momento. Cut piece out, off center, with Giga Scalloped Square punch
8-Mount scalloped quare on dimensionals onto a slightly larger piece of chocolate chip cardstock. 9-Add Spring Moss circle behind the square and adhere everything down!

That's it, pretty easy!
Would you like to see why you shouldn't let your husband write on the inside of your cherished artwork?
Oh NO HE DI'INT! He wrote so huge that it SPILLED onto the pretty part! AARGH! LOL! He calls me in and goes "Honey, you are going to have to remake this card, I ruined it!" Hahaha! What a sweet man, I love him and I love his personal touches on my card, hee! I'll be sending this one out, just as it is:)

Hope ya'll have a wonderful Wednesday, the weekend is RIGHT around the corner *as is HIP HOP!*
