Summer time...and the livin' is easy...

That's what song was going through my mind when I was making this card:) Today the Monday Chicks are creating summer fun cards to share! When I was thinking of what stamps to use, it didn't take but a fraction of a second before I knew I wanted to use my set "Relax" by Verve! Nothing says summer like palm trees and sunshine! Of course, that's my winter too, but that's neither here nor there;)
This is a super fun sketch, I encourage you to try it if you have some free time:) Come join us on the Verve Forums at Splitcoaststampers.com! You don't have to use Verve stamps to qualify for the give-away so hop on over and play with us:)

And check out what the rest of the Monday Chicks created!

***Also, I wanted to say congratulations to Huzzah616 from Creative Journeys! She won ALL THREE new Critter Crew digis (Dance Fever, Harold Drums, and Irvin Sax) from TGF! Can I get a WOOOOOP WOOOP!;) Huzzah616 (I'm so sorry, I don't know your real name, can't find it!), please email me and I'll let you know what you gotta do!;)***

Thanks for stopping by!

Life is Good

Today the Monday girls (well, some of us anyway!) are playing with SPRINGY goodies today! I recently bought this digi stamp from All That Scraps and really wanted to use her, and even though she's not really "springy" I think the card still FEELS like spring!

Her name is Cupcake Kiki La Rue! isn't she DARLING? TOTALLY fun to color too! I colored her with Copics. I got the color scheme for her from the fantastic papers by Cosmo! The sentiment is from a new release by Verve called "Relax" I got the layout from one of Amy R's Friday Sketches, it's actually AMYRS79.

Jeanne, Jimmi, Brookie, and AJ are the only other girlies playing along today, so go show them some love:)

Thanks for stopping by today!!

In Stitches!

Today, the Monday girls are pulling the sewing machines out! Or, pretending to at least;) Our challenge today is stitching--real or faux! If you want to play along with us, just link your card to one of our blogs so we can take a peek!

I pulled out a favorite PTI set, Blooming Button Bits for this card...
My card base is Vintage Cream and that fabulous dp is from Kioshi, by Basic Gray! I stamped the leaves in Kiwi Kiss ink and then added some Ocean Mist and Spring Moss vintage buttons by PTI. The edge punch is by Martha Stewart and the lace is some pretty stuff I picked up at the 100 Yen store (lucky me, lace is SO cheap here!)

Check out the rest of the sweet girls to see what they came up with! You'll be sure to spot some new Unity releases along the way so you don't want to miss it!

You can always start at the Unity blog and go with the flow of the hop! I'll be back tomorrow with a fun card using a new Unity set! See you then!

Monday Challenge Time

Hey there! Super quick post today! Some of the Monday Chicks have a "Mother's Day" themed card to share today! I broke out last years Mother's Day release, "Because of You" by Verve!

Julee just comes up with THE perfect sentiments for the Verve stamps, and I think this one has to be one of my Top 5 FAVORITE Verve sentiments. It really says exactly how I feel about my mom, so I think this is the perfect card to give her:)

Go by these fabulous ladies' blogs and show them some love!

The other girls are taking a break this week, but had BETTER be back at it next week;)

Okay, I'm off to get ready for bed! Ta for now!

She SCRAPS?!!?!

That's right boys and girls, Amber scrapped today! And on the day after Billy got home no less, lol! I think having him home does something for my mojo, really gets me wanting to create because I'm happy and everything is right in my world:) FIRST I must share with you a card for the Monday Chicks challenge! I threw down a color challenge since we were coming upon Monday with no plan (SO NOT US! LOL, I totally kid, this is SO us!) The colors are Turqouise, Pink, and White! However, some of the girls wanted to use Kraft instead so we changed it to Turqouise, Pink, and a NEUTRAL! Everyone wins:)
Here's my card based on Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #61 this week!

I love these colors! They are so fresh and girly:) PERFECT for a gumball card! All stamps on this card can be found in this months KOM, Rockin' it Unity Style! I use to love gumballs and would search under couch cushions for enough change to buy one the next time we went to the grocery store:) I colored the image in with Copics and then applied some 3-d liquid dimensionals on the globe of the gumball machine but the picture doesn't pic that texture up, bummer! The colors I used are Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo (SU!), Sweet Blush and White (PTI). The ribbon, buttons, and twine are also from PTI!
Go see what the other ladies have for you today!
One of the scrapbook layouts I created today also uses stamps from the March KOM!
If that sketch looks familiar, it should! Latisha came up with it and is hostessing a sketch challenge in the Unity Forums! Go check it out, all projects will be entered to win Le Chic Vintage (this kit isn't available for purchase! It's a past Scrapbooking KOM) That is a fab kit, one I don't have, and one I need to own! GO HERE to see the challenge and enter! The dp is from the new Imaginesce line, I forgot what it's called though! I picked it up on my travels in the states a couple weeks ago:)
Well there it is! I have one other layout that I made, but I don't want to overload you with TWO layouts on ONE POST!!! That would overload ME! LOL! Mebbe I'll post it tomorrow, I sure do love it:) Okay, have a great Monday peeps!!

Sweet Sunday Critters!

Today the Monday Chicks are all about CRITTERS! As you may or may not know, this months Fan Club theme is also Critters, so I have been knee deep in bugs, puppies, dinosaurs, and dragons, lol! If you are a Fan Club member, the gallery (this link will only be active if you are a fan club subscriber) over on Splitcoast is OPEN NOW so go check it out! You can also find out who the 2 new Dirty Girls are and give them a warm welcome;)
When the chicks decided on Critters, I had just the idea for this card. When I was at home on leave a couple weeks ago, I bought every embellishment and patterned paper I could find with a critter on it, and after the DD gallery submissions, I still have a bunch left! I really loved these chipboard shapes and papers by MME from the Abbey Road collection, so I decided to go with it:)

The card base is Aqua Mist and then there is a layer of Vintage Cream, both by PTI. The DP as mentioned earlier, as well as the chipboard embellishments are all by MME. I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #60 for my layout and then the card sorta went wild, lol! I really wanted to use up every last piece since I'll probably never use them on anything else!
Go see what the other Monday Chicks came up with for today's theme!

AJ, Jeanne, Jimmi, & Maren

Have a great week! I'll be back tomorrow with some new Verve cards!!!

Something New?

Unfortunately, NOT for me:( I went over to Christy's house to stamp with her and Missy so I just loaded a bunch of stuff into my car, made a couple kits to create the following cards with using Jen D's SFYTT and Karen G's Sweet Sunday Sketch, and completely forgot that today is MONDAY and the Monday Chicks were creating something using NEW goodies! Well, besides the fact that I forgot, I really don't have anything new anyways, I've been on a spending freeze for the past 2 or 3 weeks so I could save all my money for my trip to the states! I leave on Saturday and I'm SO excited!
Even though there isn't new stuff on these cards, I'm posting them anyway:) I made the first two at Christy's house! Very productive day:)
This is the card I made using this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch! I wanted an excuse to use Blooming Button Bits by PTI again:D The papers are from BG's Porcelein paper pack, I'm almost out of it, eek!
Next up is my card for this weeks SFYTT...
Still on a kick with my Melissa Frances paper! I can't get over how gorgeous these papers are, they just make me happy! And add to that the fact I used my favorite stamp set ever, Love's Flower by Verve, and used some gorgeous lace, I just adore this card!
This next card kicked my butt all day. You can ask Christy! I had it in my head all day that it was going to be masculine, what with the houndstooth and all, but after creating my cards for this months Dirty Dozen gallery (Which is open NOW!), I am BURNT out on man cards. Good thing I have 8 of them to last me through any I might need this year so I don't have to make anymore, lol! So after agonizing over what stamps to use on it, I decided it was going to be a girly card! I busted out my Bella Blossoms stamps and really love how this turned out:) Sometimes you just have to be in your own stamp room for stuff to turn out, lol! I am surrounded by my things, have my punches (which I didn't bring with me to Christy's house), and things just happen to fall into place:)
The houndstooth stamp is a scrapblock from Cornish Heritage Farms. I was lying in bed last night and all of a sudden, visions of Ripe Avacado houndstooth on Rustic Cream cardstock jumped into my head! I just got up right away and stamped the houndstooth so I wouldn't forget in the morning, lol! Thank goodness I was able to pull this card off, it was going to happen today, even if I had to stay awake all night!
Okay, now that you got an eye-full of my "not-so-new" stuff, head on over to the rest of the chicks' blogs and see what they've been up to!
Also, if you haven't had a chance yet (and you're a FAN CLUB Member) you gotta check out the new DD gallery! The theme this month is Bold, Masculine, and DIRTY! There are so many amazing masculine cards in that gallery! I know I personally struggle with this theme everytime I think about it, but I have to admit that after dedicating this past month to all things manly, I'm a little more comfortable with it! Also, go check out the new Dirty Girls and congratulate them! THey really deserve it, they had a really tough first gallery and hit it out of the ball park!

PTI Play Day!

Even though I buy up all the stamps, faithfully, every 15th of the month, I don't pull my PTI stamps out often enough! Well, my dear sweet husband left this morning for a 2 month deployment to the Phillipines, so I had to console myself with some stamping therapy:) PTI is having an AWESOME countdown for their 3rd anniversary release and there have been challenges every day! So I got a couple of those done, plus the new CPS sketch that PTI is sponsoring!

This first card fits PTI's CPS challenge, and also fits in with our Monday challenge, to create Valentine's Day cards! I'm really on a Vday kick so it was really no problem for me;) This card is my entry for this weeks CPS sketch too...
I'm so excited about the new 100% felt that PTI will be carrying, so I broke out some felt from my own stash:) I cut it twice with my scalloped heart nesties and then nested a Rustic White heart inside, with a sentiment from Say it with Style. The background is stamped with the text background from Background Basics: Hearts! Fun right? See what the other Monday chicks came up with for this month of love!
AJ, Brooke, Jimmi, Maren, and Jeanne!

My next card is for the emboss resist challenge that Nichole issued a few days ago! I used the new Through the Trees set for this card, along with some Melissa Frances papers. I embossed the leaves with clear ep and then sponged some pink and ocean ink (Versamagic) chalk in on top and wiped away the excess, I love the effect it has!
The sentiment is from Lisa Johnson's new set, Daily Designs Additions.

Last card for today is for TODAY's PTI challenge, Paint by numbers! How fun is that! I actually had a hard time with this color combo, 5 colors is a lot to cram onto a card, lol! But I managed, and I'm happy with what I came up with!
My username on PTI is......go ahead and guess....... AMBER! I know, I'm way creative, and so proud:) Ha!
So based on my username, the colors I had to work with are Ocean Tides, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart, Vintage Cream, and Kraft! Love these colors, but like I said, it was a challenge getting them all on! So if it looks like a couple of the colors were after-thoughts, they sorta were, lol!
I embossed the vintage cream piece with my cuttlebug ( I forgot the name of this folder). I think it gives it a more "natural" feel:) I also used some of the new Pretty Pastels dsp (the spring moss piece). The stamps used are Turning a New Leaf and Say it with Style!

Well there it is! I'm turning in for the night, Christy's two labs plus my two labs are wearing me down, lol! They're a fun bunch, but holy crap they're little bundles of energy! See ya tomorrow with...I don't know...something, probably some yummy VERVE!

It's the TEAL deal!

Hey! It's Monday! A "no-work" Monday too! Those are the best;)
Today's Monday Challenge is Valentine's Day cards! Super simple since I'm ALL about Vday lately! I paired this challenge up with the CAS challenge this week!
The title of today's CAS challenge on Splitcoast is "It's the REAL deal" but since the challenge is to use teal, white, and one other color, I thought "TEAL deal" sounded better, heehee!
Christy was over stamping at my house today, we had so much fun! She brought over some of her cricut carts and we cut bunches of fun stuff out! I'll get to my Cricut card after my CAS card!
She also brought a couple of her new SU! stamp sets, so I borrowed them for this card:) It's the heart set and I can't remember what the name of the set that sentiment comes from either, and I'm too lazy to run upstairs to look for my mini:)
I told Christy to tell me when to stop because I really have a hard time with CAS. Well, she didn't want to let me add buttons, but I couldn't help it! I don't think it makes it less "CAS" either, at least I hope not:) Hey, for me, this is CAS baby!

I also made this one, using the same color combo! I meant for it to be another CAS card, but I couldn't get a layout I liked and I simply HAD to use these sweet pandas! I cut them with Christy's Pagoda cartridge (So I should thank Vicky too since she bought the cart for Christy, ha!)
How fun are those pandas? I so love them:) The kanji writing on the heart says "Love" and that's also on the Pagoda cartridge (the heart is from Plantin Schoolbook). I did a little sewing, added some ribbon and buttons, and an edge punch and finally got a card I love:) I'm happy I got it done too, cause I promised Christy I'd post it today, rain or shine!
Check out what the rest of the Monday Chicks did:

Okay, I have another card! Yes, I made three today, I was on a roll, lol! This one is for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! This was a totally fun sketch, I'll be using it again!
I used the super fun Comfy Cozy set (this link takes you to the wholesale section, I only posted it so you could see the kit, not be scared by the price which is obviously for several sets sold to stores, lol!) by Unity! This was the incentive kit for ordering the December KOM so it's not currently available; however, I believe Angela will be re-releasing it for sale after CHA! There is another super fun sofa in this kit along with some other fun sentiments, I totally love this kit:)

I used the Shanghai digi paper kit by Designer Digitals for the paper. I printed it out on Epson Matte photo paper.
Alrighty, my eyeballs are going cross-eyed from all this typing so I'm gonna wrap it up:) I'll be back later this week! I need to be studying for my promotion so I may not post as often as I'd like, that is if everything is going as it SHOULD, but it probably won't because I hate studying with a PASSION!:)

CAS? I don't think so.

So the Monday Challenge between AJ, Maren, Jimmi, Jeanne, Brooke, and Jen Buck was "CAS" style cards. Well, for one, CAS is sort of a curse word on my blog. It just doesn't happen often...and it's sort of against my religion! BUT I was really going to try. Really I was! My card was just going to spell "Be Mine" with these super cool letters cut from my Storybook cart for my Cricut and that's it. Well, then I decided to emboss some hearts from Hundred Hearts (Verve) on the card base...add some ribbon...some bling...some silver cord...and there goes CAS, flying out the window!
I do realize that there is no way this card is going in a regular envelope, lol! But that's okay by me:) I have no problem paying extra postage for a card this fun! Here is a close-up of the ribbon detail:
I have problems, I know:) But seriously, how awesome is that ribbon? I also embossed a big chubby heart from Hundred Hearts in black, cut it out, and then attached it to the ribbon with silver cord. It's a really fun detail that doesn't really come across the screen so well...

Anyways, this card is also my sample for my color challenge this week for the Verve January Release Week challenge! You simply MUST come play with us this week! There are FOUR other challenges posted! You have until Friday to get your cards uploaded and you could win some SERIOUS Verve loot!

Don't forget to check out AJ, Maren, Brooke, Jeanne, Jimmie, and Jen Buck's cards today! Maybe they had better luck with CAS than I did;)

Cupcakes and Mojo

What a combination, huh? Nothing says getting your mojo back quite like a cupcake;)
The Monday Chicks are makin' birthday cards today! A new year brings new birthdays (my 30th is coming this year, eeeEEEEKSSSSSSS!) so it's always good to stock up on the cards!
I played with last weeks Mojo Monday sketch, Mojo119! I pulled out some Nook and Pantry paper and my Verve Stamps and got to work!
I obviously made a couple changes to the sketch, but that's only because my memory didn't serve me as well as I thought! Does that happen to you?;) I used "Wishing You", "Cupcake Affair", and "Artful Elegance". Here's the inside:

Don't forget to stop by and give some love to the other girls, some of them may not be playing today, so if you stop by and don't see an update, that's why:)
Hope you have a fantastic week, see ya later!
Wishing You Supplies:
Stamps: Wishing You, Cupcake Affair, Artful Elegance (Verve)
Paper: Nook and Cranny (Basic Grey), Rustic White, Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist (PTI)
Ink: Rich Cocoa (Momento), Aqua Mist (PTI), Copics
Accessories: Aqua Mist ribbon (PTI), Apron Lace edge punch (Fiskars), Nesties (Spellbinders), Pearls (Kaiser), Large Oval punch (SU!)

It's a berry good life...

Isn't it? I know most of my stateside friends are saying "WHAT? IT's 30 below outside!" Well, not here in Okinawa, it's still in the 70's during the day, then it cools off to a chilly 60 at night:)

Well you really came here to see a card, so I'll shush with the small talk! Today is Monday and that means the girls and I have a Monday Challenge card to share! We decided to go with a theme of "Thank You" since Christmas is coming up and we'll all need Thank You cards! Well I had every intention of creating a Thank You card using this weeks CAS challenge on SCS. I got the color challenge part right, but we all know I'm no CAS stamper so the actual Clean and Simple theory behind CAS doesn't always *ever* play out for me, lol!
I like to add a button here, add some bling there, sponge this, and punch that, ha! It's okay, I've come to grips with the fact that I'll never be CAS or fit my cards in a regular envelope. I'm fine with that.

Card base is Dark Chocolate and the dp is from the Green Tea Leaves dp by PTI! I can't get away from this paper, I love it so much! The strawberry stamp is from Berry Good Life by Unity and will be available in January after CHA! The sentiment is from Dawn McVey's Signature Greetings set by PTI.

Check out the rest of the Monday Chicks for some more Thank You inspiration!

We're back!

The Monday Challenge Chicks have been playing hooky for the past couple weeks but we're BACK today! Well, some of us are anyway! Some ladies are still quite busy and weren't able to squeek anything out in time, we did just decide to do something LAST NIGHT! Today is an "Anything Goes" day! We just wanted to prod eachother to post SOMETHING! Sometimes, everyday life gets going and you forget the little things;)
My card today uses the November KOM Incentive kit, Love Bug(scroll down under the KOM to see a picture of the entire Love Bug kit!)! This is seriously *THE* cutest little car stamp I've ever seen! And the sentiments that go with it are DARLING, and fit right inside the little license plate!
The paper is by Making Memories, I think it's called Getaway? Or something like that? LOL! I forgot but I don't want to walk all the way back upstairs to rummage through the madness that is my scrapbook room right now, lol! I stamped the love bug on a piece of Ripe Avacado cardstock and cut the window out, kinda looks like you're looking through the windshield, love that! I sewed around the dp and the sentiment and added some PTI ribbon and buttons!
I had some scraps left so I put this little card together too!
The sentiment, which I *LOVE* is from the November 09 KOM! I also stamped the sweet little ladies from a set not released until CHA in January! The paper again is from Making Memories and the ribbon/buttons are by PTI.
Well thats it from me! Hop on over to these ladies to see some more fun Monday inspiration!
AJ, Maren, Jeanne, Jimmi, Brooke, Jen B. Some of them may not have any updates, but I didn't want to leave them out if they changed their mind;)
Happy Monday, see ya later!

It's beginning to look alot like...

Christmas! Everywhere you go...except Okinawa!
It's still hot and muggy here. Man I could seriously use some awesome fall weather with bright yellow and red trees, *sigh*...I'll have to rely on fall and Christmas cards to put me into the spirit:)

Today the Monday Chicks are creating Christmas cards! I gotta tell you, I already have quite an insane collection of Christmas cards to send out this year! I've decided that instead of stressing over making a bunch of cards to send out, I'm going to actually send out the cards I create for the blog! Genious idea to actually send them to someone, huh?:D So they'll all be different, but I think that'll be just fine.
My card for today, using the fab Holly Jolly by Verve!
I can't help but embellish these little cuties with silver cord, they just make me so darn happy:) The colors I used are Riding Hood Red and Elegant Eggplant. I masked the large ornament and the stamped the smaller ones, one behind the large and one popped up in front. I also stamped the polka dots from Bountiful Backgrounds and started to color them all with my red Spica pen, well I quit and didn't realize how obviously it would show up in the picture! That's just how it goes, when you want sparkle to show up on a picture it doesn't, and when you don't want it to, it does! Ah well, such is life:)
I have one more card that fits the theme today, using Blessed Christmas and Jen's Sketch for you to try!
That cardstock is NOT yellow, it's gold (PTI). It doesn't really photograph well (see earlier comment...mmmmmhmmmm.) but the paper is really shimmery! I embossed the cross and sentiment in gold, it's such a pretty card IRL but the photo just makes it blah!
Head on over and see what the other girls have come up with today, you could always use another Christmas card idea, right?:)
Have a great day, I'm gonna have a nice cup of Chamomille tea and get ready for bed!

World's BEST!

That's my dad:) His birthday is coming up (Well, not till December but there's nothing wrong with being ahead of the curve for once!) and I thought today's Monday Challenge was a perfect opportunity to focus on getting his card ready! We're going with Masculine cards today! It's not something I do very often and the thought usually scares me away, but I kinda enjoyed it today:) Well, I actually REALLY enjoyed it! I used the sets World's Best and Protector from Verve!

If you feel inspired to create a manly card today, link up to one of our blogs so we can all see them! Check out the other Monday girls:

Have a fantastic day!!!!!!!!

10 Minute Monday!

Today, the Monday girls are takin it easy, no cards that take over 10 minutes! Well, I sorta cheated, the first one took me about 20. Dang it, but it's cute so I have to post it:)
The card base is Bermuda Breeze and the dp is from SU as well, but I can't remember what it's called. I did some Cuttlebug Kissin' on the butterfly from "Bevy of Butterflies" and the sentiment is from the September KOM (No longer available, but you can check out the October KOM HERE!!)
Okay, this card took me about 15 and that's cause I had to switch the white thread out and put the brown into the machine...

I stamped the "Giving it all meaning" background right onto the Rustic Cream background. I layered some chocolate and Orange Zest cardstock and stamped the bee and sentiment from "Everyday Adorable". I thought the bee needed a flower so I stitched a stem, added the hand-cut leaf and then the pretty orange Prima!

See what the rest of the girls came up with in 10 minutes!
Have a great week:)

I think I found my Christmas card design!

Wow, CAS is where it's at, lemme tell ya! You know me and all my layers and "schtuff" but I really am tired today and had to make a few other cards for assignments tonite so when it came time for my Monday Challenge Chicks card, I didn't have any wind left in my sails! So I decided to go CAS and I love it!
This card took me maybe 3 minutes and 37 seconds. Seriously, SO FAST! The tree/ornaments stamps are from Tree Trimming Trio and the sentiment is Dawn McVey's gorgeous handwriting, from Signature Christmas, both sets by PTI.
I have always wanted a pink tree, like Heidi Swapp used to do, lol! BRIGHT HOT PINK with lots of glittery ornaments! I say I always wanted one, but when it comes down to it, A)my husband would NEVER allow it, and B)I would chicken out and stick with my old faithful GREEN tree because I really do love it, lol!
It's nice to dream:)

Check out what the rest of the chicks came up with for Christmas Cards!
Maybe they'll get your juices flowing and you'll make all your Christmas cards on time this year? BAWHWAHAHAHAHA! I know, I laughed too just typing that, we card makers are the WORST at sending cards out on time, huh?:)

Have a fantastic Monday! See ya tomorrow with UNITY!

Fall is in the air...

Well, not really, at least here, lol! It's still hotter than, well you know.
I did get in the fall mood today though because the Monday Challenge Chicks' theme today is Thanksgiving/Fall cards! I have always been an earth-tone girl so I think that's why I love this season for making cards, lol! Right in my comfort zone! For my card, I used the pumpkin and sentiment from the September 2009 KOM "Go ahead, Wish" by Unity!
Isn't that pumpkin ADORABLE? I love it! I was really in the coloring mood this weekend so I colored a bunch of images with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol! I had so much fun, and it's rare that I find coloring fun, I'm just too lazy! I'm going to try to make more time for it though, it's really relaxing and some sort of good therapy or something:)
The paper I used is Apple Cider by SU! It's retired now, from last years mini I think.
Wanna see what the other chics have for you today?
AJ, Brookie, Jeanne, Jimmi, & Maren.

I did get another card done today (We didn't have to work today, yeah!) It's for yesterday's Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoast! Tankgrl has a really fab gallery and I decided to case THIS one. Isn't it beeeeUtiful?

Here's my card using Call Me by MFT. I love how she's slung over her chair chattin' on the phone, so cute:) I colored the image in with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. The paper is by PTI (Autumn Abundance).

Well that's it for me today, I'm going to chillax here next to hubby for the night, maybe read some more of my book. I'm so hooked on th JD Robb "In Death" series. I've been reading it off and on for a couple years and she just keeps coming out with more books! Eve Dalls is my hero:)

Have a great Monday, see ya tomorrow!

Eat, Drink, and be SCARY!

Today's theme for us Monday Challenge Girls is Halloween! I'm not overly fond of halloween cards, mostly cause I can't figure out what to do with them, lol! Halloween has never been a big holiday for me, I'm scared of the spooks! Ha! BUT thank goodness I had these sweet *not-spooky* little "Trick or Treat Peeps" by Unity Stamp Co.! And the fun sentiment is a Studio G stamp I got at Joanne's.
Be sure to check out the rest of the girls for their SpOoooOOoky cards:)
On another note, I had a wonderfully fantastic time on leave, and this weekend was great too! I went to the Air Force Ball with my sweetie and we had WAY TOO MUCH FUN! It's the 62nd Birthday of the US Air Force! I'm so proud to be a part of such an amazing group of American's...here's my gorgeous hunk of a hubby Billy and I--
I also got to paint my bedroom and guest bathroom this weekend which really sucked at the time but it's SO pretty now! WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!
So it being my first Monday back at work and all, I'm pretty tired so I'm gonna go read for a bit and head to bed early:) Ya'll have a GREAT WEEK! See ya tomorrow!

Card Recipe:
Stamps-Halloween Peeps (Unity), Sentiment (Studio G)
Paper-Black, Ripe Avacado, White (PTI), Purple (can't remember), Pumpkin Pie (SU!)
Ink-Pitch Black (Adirondack), Copics

A day late...

I was supposed to post this card yesterday and time got away from me! The Monday girls made cards for kids today! I just got this super cute stamp set, The Botz Family by Our Craft Lounge, and knew it would make a perfect kids bday card!
Isn't that robot adorable? There are three really cute ones but I love this one holding a teddy bear!
I used one of Julee's Verve Release Party sketches for the layout.
I colored the ribbon in with Copics and then doodled a little around the frame.
Check out what the other girls did with today's challenge:
Maren

Just in case you wonder where I am for the next few days, I'm on vacation! That's right, the hubby and I are off for the next three glorious weeks! We're off to visit my family in Hawaii, and then off to PA to visit his family and then back to Hawaii for awhile and then back home:) It's going to be SO FUN! The only hard part is that we're hopping, we don't have commercial plane tickets? What does this mean in laymen's terms? Well a hop is basically hitching a ride on a military plane (no, not a cool fighter jet, lol!) that's on some kind of mission and has a few seats to offer military personnel who want to travel a bit. The PRO is that it's absolutely FREE and you can go basically anywhere in the world you want to go, but the CON is that it's not really reliable as far as when you want to leave. It's kinda like a first come first served deal, but not quite. There are 4 categories, and depending on when you signed up, you could be first on the list or you could be 3,458th. We were 50 yesterday so hopefully we moved up the list today, lol!
We were supposed to catch a hop this morning *as in 3:30 in the morning* so we got a couple hours sleep, then woke up at midnight to get to the terminal and wait for our name to be called. Well on this particular plane, going straight to Hawaii, there were 12 available seats. We were scared cause there were about 30 people in there waiting to get on the plane. Well we lucked out and got seats! So we're going through security, getting boarding passes, checking in our bags when the aircrew announces that they only have enough weight allowance for SIX passengers instead of TWELVE so we got bumped off that flight. We went back home, got a couple more hours of sleep and then showed up to try and get on the the 0900 flight. Well we get to the terminal and find out that the flight is delayed cause something is wrong with the plane. So we'll try again tonite, wish us luck! I'm getting super tired of being turned away, lol! Pulling all my suitcases all over the place for nothing is NOT my idea of vacation! LOL!
I've created a few cards to share over the next few days, plus I'll be sharing pics of our vacation (Hawaii, can't wait!) Enjoy your day, see ya later!!!!!!!
