Pop Out Cards

I'm having so much fun with these Karen Burniston dies.  I will be having a class tomorrow at The Stamp Shoppe using the Twist Panel Pop Up Die and the Twist Snowman Circle Die Set.
This first card uses the Prickley Pear Build a Cupcake stamp set with matching die colored with Copic markers.
Frames and Rounded panel are also included in the die set.
The second card front uses the Prickley Pear Christmas Banner stamp set and matching die. Keeping the front simple because most of the work is found on the inside.
Watch the little Penguin twist and pop up as you open the card.  The Roly Poly Penguin is from Taylored Expressions.  This cutie fits perfectly with the circle die included in the stamp set.  The frame is from the KB Riley Katherine Label Pop Up die. The sentiment is also from Prickley Pear. The snowy border is from Karen Burniston's Nature Edges Die Set.  If you are interested in taking a class, call us at 715-355-6735. If you just want to make some of these cards, you can find them all at The Stamp Shoppe!

Celebrations!

Today I am doing a different take on Stars and Stripes.  I am using the Build a Cupcake clear stamp set and matching die as my focus on the card.
Then I used the Spellbinders Nested Stars to cut small and medium size stars of color that match the decorator paper.  The paper is striped and then I cut them into strips to make the background.  The sentiment comes in the stamp set.  Add a little stardust glitter to the frosting to add to the festivities!  Check out the PPRS blog today for more new creations.

CardMakers Blog Hop

Thanks for joining us today for the CardMaker Blog Hop.  If you have been following the hop, you should have come from Rebecca's blog.  We are continuing to showcase some of the new images from Prickley Pear, so we hope you enjoy being inspired!!
One of my favorite new image are these Bold Daisies. I had some small ladybugs that I stamped and die cut using the Dainty Dragonflies and matching die sets.  They added a touch of whimsy to these adorable flowers.  Then I used the saying from and older Butterflies clear stamp set.
Summer is in full bloom with this Large Birdhouse.  I cut off the small post and fussy cut around the bird, to have the bird perched on a hanging birdhouse! I used a Taylored Expressions branch embossing folder and colored the embossed image with Copic Markers.  Then I stamped the small flowers from the Flowers 2 Clear Set and cut them out with the matching die.   I love these small flowers because they add so much to a card.
Here I add more of the flowers to this cute Kitty card.  This little kitten is so adorable!  It will brighten anyone's day!  Then I added the sentiment from the Dragonflies 2 Clear Set.  I hope you are enjoying all the great new images from Prickley Pear and all the beautiful creations.  Your next stop on your hop is Irit's blog. She uses some of these same images in more of an artistic, shabby chic way!  You will love her inspiring works of art.  When you are done hopping, be sure to leave a comment on the Prickley Pear blog for your chance to win a $20 Gift Certificate.  Prickley Pear will be picking a random winner from all that leave a comment!  Until next time...and Good Luck!

Prickley Pear Spring Release...Day 5

Welcome back to day five of our New Release! I hope you have enjoyed seeing the beautiful stamps and ideas, but we aren't done yet!  We still have more to show you!
I am using the Dainty Dragonflies again today with the Matching Dies.  They accentuate the Riley Sentiment that was just released last week.  The Pierced Nested Circle die from Riley was used to make the purple ring.
I paired the new bicycle with the Life Doesn't have to be perfect sentiment.  Then to add a bit more to the card, I stamped the Petunia and cut it out to pop up onto the card.  The Lattice background was cut with a die from Our Daily Bread. Don't forget...you get free shipping over $15. See more cards on the PPRS blog too!

Prickley Pear New Release...Day 4

One of the many things that I love about Prickley Pear is their flower stamps!  This release is no different!  These Bold Daisies and Jar Full of Daisies are my favorite from these new stamps!
Using another Die Background from Our Daily Bread, I wove two strips of brown paper through the lattice to create my fancy background.  Then I stamped the Bold Daisies onto white paper and colored them with Copic Markers.  I added the Mini Butterfly and Happy Anniversary Banner for a little more dimension.
This second card uses the Jar Full of Daisies that I cut out and popped in front of the oval frame.  I added the Die Cut Background from Our Daily Bread behind the oval for some texture and interest to the opening.  Finally I stamped from the Blobby Flowers 2 Clear Set.  I hope you love these cards as much as I loved making them!  These stamps are so easy to use and will be "go to" images for many occasions.  There are more great ideas on the PPRS blog, so stop on over to check them out!

Prickley Pear Spring Release...Day 3

You can probably see that I love these new Dainty Dragonfly stamps and dies! I thought they added a little extra to the cards that I made today!
This first card uses the Frog on Mushroom with the word Faith from the  Let your Faith Sentiment.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and then some Crystal Accents to the mushroom dots to add a 3-D effect.  The die background was from Our Daily Bread.  I cut some of the flourishes to tuck the image among the swirls.
This Card uses the entire Let your Faith Sentiment as the focus of it. Then I used the Bucket of Tulips in the oval frame, which I colored with Copic Markers.  Then I popped a Dainty Dragonfly to the frame.  I just love this new Prickley Release and I hope you enjoy all the inspiration that the talented design team has created to share with you.  If you haven't checked out the PPRS blog yet, be sure to check it out!  We will be getting many of the new stamps in our store shortly too, so come in to check out our extensive collection!

Prickley Pear New Release...Day 2

Today, I am using the new Dainty Dragonfly Clear Set and Matching dies.  These Dragonflies are so whimsical and fun!
On this card, I paired the dragonfly with the new Dance in the Rain Sentiment.  I added some leaf dies and wire die cuts for an outdoor feel.
I used three different dragonflies here, coloring them in the pastel color tones.  Then I added the Pierced Oval die from the new Riley Release to the background. Top it off with some floral vines for filler.  Finally, I cut apart the new Let your Faith sentiment and added them to the card.  These are great add-on elements for any card or as the focal point.  Hop on over to the blog and see great card ideas from the other designers.  Remember...order $15 of product and receive free Shipping until midnight May 14th.

Prickley Pear Spring Release...Day 1

I hope you enjoyed all the new Riley and Company cards that we brought to you last week.  This week we have an all new release from Prickley Pear.  These new stamps are simply adorable, so be sure to check them out each day this week. Today I am featuring the new Row Houses clear set and matching dies.
This first card, I only used the house and roof to create this cute house.  Adding some of the other elements of clouds, trees and the little bird from this set to create a simple scene.  I used the new Riley Pierced Oval Die to create the frame, then embossed the frame with a classic cuttlebug embossing folder.  The Taylored Expression clouds were embossed on light blue paper, then I rubbed Memories white dye ink over the clouds to help them stand out. Finally I used the Home Sweet Home sentiment that is included on this set to create a banner.  This would be perfect for someone moving into a new home!
For this card, I used the extra floor piece to make a second story house.  You can mix and match elements to create the perfect custom house.  I made a watercolor background as the backdrop for the house.  Using a cut out frame that I had laying on my desk, I popped it up onto the card and added all the pieces into it.  Notice the little kitten sitting in front of the house?  Isn't she adorable?  This kitty is also part of this set.  This also has a die included in the matching die set, so it is easy to cut her out and pop her into the picture!  Finally, I stamped the sentiment under the frame.
I enjoyed stamping, cutting and coloring many of these pieces, then when I was ready to make the cards, I could start mixing and matching all the pieces.  So fun!!  Check out the PPRS blog for more adorable cards.  Order $15 or more this week and receive free shipping.  Just use FREESHIP as the coupon code to get this offer!  Hope you have a fantastic week!

Riley Spring Release...Day 3

More Riley Fun today...with the new Sports and Summer Accessories!!
I love this little golfer girl.  I used the pole in the set to create the golf flag on the putting green!  Then cut out the words from the Inhale the Future Funny Bones Saying.
I used the dress and bow from the previous Riley Accessory and Winter Accessories sets and the water die and beach ball from the Summer Fun Accessories Set.  The sentiment..Shark Music works perfect with this beach babe!  Be sure to check out more fun with Riley on the Riley Blog!

Signs of Spring

Tulips and young chick are signs of spring!  Today I am using Easter Flowers and the Pond of Duckling stamps from Prickley Pear.

I add some banners I made with the Love Banner Set and matching Banner Dies to add some accent to this Easter Card.  Around the image, I used the removable tape around the edges and sponged with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  The Embossing folder is Loopy Loops from Taylored Expressions.

This last card used some plaid paper from Bo Bunny as the background paper,  I used the ScorBuddy and the ScorBug to create the fake stitches around the edge.  The Easter Flowers were stamped and colored with Copic Markers.  I added a tab and mini butterfly that I die cut from the  Kensington Branch die from Memory Box.

Hope you enjoyed a little Spring today and I wish you all a very Happy Easter!

Prickley Pear Release Day 5

Just like I promised... I will show you the fun I've had with Banners!

First of all, I stamped oodles of different banners on a variety of coordinating decorator papers, and cut them out with the matching dies...which makes it super simple and fast!  Then I colored some, and found images that I wanted to used with them.  Once the images were all colored, I planned my layouts from sketches I found on Pinterest that had banners in the sketch. Then it was time to create and it was as quick and east as 1...2...3...!

Just added a hint of banners to this card.  Then I used the "Blessings" from the Easter Blessings sentiment and the "Spring" from the Happy Spring.  Both sentiments are also in this Spring/Easter Clear Set.
More Easter Banners paired with this adorable Bunny Cart stamp.  Not only are the banners totally cute, but the sentiments are amazing too!
Then I made a mini Twist Pop-Up card with some of the banners.  The card directions and dimensions are found on this YouTube Video.  Maymay makes these cards so simple to create!
I used a banner on each of the panels.  Then I used the tiny stamps that are also included in this set, to add as toppers for the banners.  The extra banner that I cut off, I then used as a border at the bottom of the card.  The Happy Spring sentiment I separated to go above and below the panels.

This isn't all...in the following weeks, I will be showing more cards using these fun stamps!  Not only are there these new Valentine and Spring Banner Sets, but also a great Christmas Banner set from the last release.

Check out the Prickley Store for all the new stamps!  Take advantage of the great sale this week. These banners are well worth the investment! I hope you enjoyed the cards and ideas this week, but we aren't done yet!  So hop on over to the blog and get inspired again! Prickly Pear stamps makes stamping cards so much fun!

Prickley Pear Release Day 4

Today I will be featuring the new Valentine Cupcake Clear Set!  Super adorable and...don't they look yummy!?
I used the cupcake top as a layer over another frosting top, making a double dipper ice cream cone!  This Ice Cream Cone stamp set was release this past fall and works great to interchange with the Cupcakes! And chocolate icing!! What better way to say "I love you than that?" I added a bit of sparkle to the hearts too.
Using the Cupcakes in a more traditional way, I added some of the banners from the Valentine Banner Clear set to make additional accents to the card.  These banners were stamped on decorative paper, so not much more was required for coloring!  Then I added on of the sentiments and used one of the banners as a mat.
I first stamped the cupcake pieces onto white cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers. I have started to do more Zen-doodling lately, because it is so relaxing and it can change stamped images into a whole different look.  This frosted cupcake makes for a perfect image to doodle on!  I used the heart die from the Cupcake die set to accent this sweet treat.  I finished it off with more banners.

There are now several new banners and they are great to add to cards. Get all 3 Clear Sets for only $40...a 20% savings! Order them from Prickley Pear today! Tomorrow I will be showing you more fun ideas with these border, so be sure to come back!

The design team has been hard at work creating beautiful works of art this week!  You can see all there great work on the PPRS blog!

This beautiful cross, I stamped three times and cut out the various elements and popped them up to give a greater dimension.  Then I used the Easter Blessings greeting from the Spring/Easter Banner Set on the banner.
Here is the adorable Bunny Cart image.  I used a previously released flower stamp that matched the flowers in his cart for the background paper.  You can find all these images on the Prickley website. After Valentine's Day, we are moving on to St. Patrick's Day!  In the new release there are five great stamps for this Irish holiday.
I really love this Irish Blessing.  This can work for Graduations and Wedding cards as well.
I used the Shamrocks on white cardstock, then overlayed it with vellum that I had embossed the sentiment on.
I paired this Pot of Gold and flowers with the Shamrock banner from the Spring/Easter Clear Set.  You will find this great sentiment included in the set too!
(There is more cards with Banners to come in future posts)

Prickley Pear Release Week is Here!

Prickley Pear has a great new Release this week! I love, love, love these stamps.  And there are some great specials that I want to extend to you!

Today I am using the Love Birds and the Happy Valentine's Day Banner.

I cut around the banner to use it as my sentiment on this card and on the card band that I used on the second card.
I used the Small Swirl Heart to use as a "latch" on this card. The front of the card is rather simple, but on the inside...
There's an element of surprise!!  Inside is the Pop Up Book Card.  I found this idea on Pinterest and decided that I needed to try it!  Here is the site with very clear and easy to follow directions.  The There is only one Happiness sentiment worked great with this image!!

Be sure to check out all the new images on the Prickley Pear website and take advantage of the great specials!  Want more inspiration?  Check out the Prickley Pear blog and see the beautiful cards the Design Team made!!  Hope to see you back tomorrow for more Release week fun!

Coffee and Tin

Prickley Pear has wonderful clear sets and matching dies.  Today I am using their coffee set on the cards and the butterflies and hibiscus sets on the Craft Tin.
Here is a card that we did in our Scrap Card Class at The Stamp Shoppe.  Using different matching decorator papers to layer and create a background.  Then I used a Riley Funny Bones saying that worked perfectly with this coffee cup!
On this card, I made a frame to stamp the Starbucks sentiment in.  Then stamped two To-Go Coffees to add as accents to the card.  Colored in Fall colors to go with the Pumpkin Spice Lattes!

While doing inventory at the store, I noticed these tins tucked back on a shelf.  Thinking to myself that is would be a cute project, I decided to get to work!  To cover the white tin, I used alcohol inks and blending fluid to cover the background with a marbleized color.  Then I made a strip to go around the box to label what would be stored inside.  Then I added cut out Butterflies and Flowers that I made with the Prickley stamp sets.  These are so versatile and I find that these are my go-to sets often.  I included Candi, Micro-fine Glitter and die cuts to finish it off.  Now put in some adhesive, pop dots, scissors and head off to class!

Wouldn't then tins make a cute container to hold tea bags or K cups and set them on the counter...Oh the Thinks you can think!!

Don't forget that next week, Prickley Pear is showcasing their new release stamps!  So check out what the design team has created for you!!

A Prickley Pear Christmas

Today I am featuring the Prickley Pear Clear Stamp Sets and the matching dies.  This Winter's Butterfly card used the Butterflies Clear Set.  The background was embossed with the Darice Snowflake embossing folder, then using Distress inks create the colorful background.  The Butterfly was cut out with the butterfly die, then stamped with the image.  It was colored with the Distress inks as well.  Then I used the clear Stardust gel pen to add some glitter highlights to it.

This next card uses the Cardinals Clear stamp set. Cut out the cardinal from decorative red paper with the die then stamp the cardinal onto decorative paper.  Place cardinal on more decorative paper with the pine branch die.  Add some Candi to finish it off!

Check out more ideas on the PPRS blog today!

Riley Tuesday

I hope you enjoyed the new release of Riley and Company stamps last week, but we still have lots more to show you!  The Riley stamps are fun to use with the Funny Bone sayings.  Because Riley is always the perfect size...not too big and not too small, he's fun to use on cards that have some moving parts to them!!
For this wedding card, I used the Sizzix frame to create an arch to the card and put the Riley couple on the inside. The background uses the Taylored Expressions brick embossing folder on cream paper and the flowers and leaves are dies from Cheery Lynn Designs. Then I added the sentiment on top.  However, it was a little too big...no problem!! Stamp part for the front and add the rest on the inside!!
This second card uses the Scuba Riley.  My oldest son got his Diving Certification and I thought this would be a fun card for him.  I used the Slide On Over die from Lawn Fawn and after I cut out Riley, I put him on a slider tab.  I made a frame and embossed it with the Weathered embossing folder from Taylor Expressions and put acetate behind it to make a window.  At the top I used a water die to show water.  Then on the inside and outside the frame I used the Tree 2 die from Prickley Pear to make coral.  Finally, I added the sentiment across the top.  This scuba guy will pull up behind the sentiment the appear as the tab is pushed down.  Hope you enjoyed the cards and be sure to check out the Riley blog for more card ideas from the talented Design Team today!!

Stacked Trees

I hope you have enjoyed our New Release week of Prickley Pear.  Today I am featuring the Three Piece  Trees.  There are three tree designs in the set.  These can be colored in different shades of green and blue, depending on your mood!  Pair these with the Christmas Banner Set to add some extra embellishments.  This Banner set also has great sentiments for all your Christmas cards! Both clear sets come with matching dies!
What about a Blue Spruce for a Blue Christmas?  It's fun to make a Non-traditional card sometimes too! Add a bow on the tree and presents under the tree...Oh what fun to mix and match!!
See more fantastic Christmas ideas on the PPRS blog today!  Don't forget you can still get free shipping if you order online.  Stamp will be in the store this weekend!
