PAV BHAJI

There's nothing to tell about mumbai street food. Its just heavenly. Can have anytime. One among them is Pav bhaji where the bhaji is spicy curry with a blend of assorted vegetables served with buttered  pav. Its best way to make your kids eat veggies as kids don't prefer having them these days. Try this fabulous spicy and tangy street food. Its yumm :)
INGREDIENTS

Pav as needed.

2 Onion.

3 Boiled Potatoes.

2 Big Tomato

1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste.

1 Cup Boiled Veggies ( cauliflower, carrots, beans, capsicum )

1 1/2 tbsp Pav bhaji masala.

1/2 tsp Turmeric pd.

Pinch of Garam masala.

Salt to taste.

1 tbsp each Chopped Onion and Coriander leaves for garnishing.

2 tbsp Butter as required.

Half  Lime

METHOD

Heat 1 tbsp butter in a kadai. Fry ginger garlic paste till the raw smells disappears. Then add onions, salt and saute for 3 to 4 min. Once its fryed add tomatoes and cook till it becomes mushy. Add turmeric pd, pav bhaji masala and garam masala and saute for another 1 min. Then drop in mashed boiled potatoes , boiled veggies and mash them well with the help of masher. Add required water and allow to cook.

At the time serving, slit the pav horizontally into two. Heat tawa and add 2 tbsp of butter. Open the pav and place on it and cook till it becomes slight brown and a bit crisp on both the sides. Place them on serving plate with spicy bhaji topped with raw onions chopped ,coriander leaves and with a cube of butter and squeezed lime.

DAHI CHAAT

Dahi chaat is my little ones favourite chaat and this is somthing that I have enjoyed having alot. Its delicious and addictive ;). On one bite, you get different flavours like tangy, sweet, salty and spicy. Its cooling at the same time.


INGREDIENTS.

10 Readymade Puris or hommade the best :)

1 Big Boiled Potatoes.

1/4 Cup Moong sprouts.

1 tsp Chilly powder.

1 tsp Jeera pd.

Few Coriander leaves.

Sweet chutney as required

Green chutney (optional)

Chaat Masala.

Sev for garnishing

Black Salt to taste.

INGREDIENTS FOR DAHI MIXTURE.

2 Cups Dahi

3 tbsp Sugar.

Jeera pd to sprinkle

Chaat pd to sprinkle

Pinch of black salt.

METHOD.

Mash potatoes and add sprouted green moong, coriander leaves, chilli pd, jeera pd and salt. Place them aside.

In a blender, add all the ingredients given above for making dahi mixture. Transfer them into small cup or glasses and keep aside.

Now the fun part comes. Crack the top part of the puris with our fingers or spoon. Add the 1 to 2 tsp of  boiled potato mixture in the puris. Then add sweet chutney, green chutney according to ur taste and finally sprinkle sev on top. Place them on a plate. Sidly place the dahi filled cup.

At the time of serving pour dahi into the puris and if u like chaat on top, sprinkle a bit and put it into your mouth immediately ;)

AMCHI MUMBAI CHAAT

Herez my mumbai chat special homemade pani puris . I tried this chat buying readymade puries and for katta metta namkeen pani, using Pani puri masala which is easily available at supermarkets. Thats it... if u have both these ingredients available at stock, anytime Pani puris are ready to prepare. My kiddo just love having it but not as a whole instead having one filled puries with 2 bites :)



INGREDIENTS FOR STUFFING.

Chopped Onions.

Chopped Tomatoes.

Few Sprouted Moong.

Boiled Potato.

Spicy Bondies.

Green chutney.

Sweet chutney.

FOR MAKING PANI.

Proceed making pani accordingly as per the steps giving on the masala pack. Garnish with few bondi with crushed mint leaves and keep it aside.

FILLING METHOD.

Make a small hole in the center of each puries carefully. Now stuff them with the ingredients given above in a small quantity with green and sweet chutney. Place them on the plate with a bowl of pani aside. At at the time of serving, stir the pani well before dipping the puries and eat immediately..

SEV PURI

Next to my uncle's recipe comes my aunt's tempting dish. Being in mumbai and not tasting chaat? yeh tho ho hi nahi saktha. Yes its the Sev puri one of my fav chaat. We had extra leftover 'Potato Masala' the previous day which my uncle prepared for touched dosa. Thus she utilised that masala for the sev puri that resulted into one delicious tasty chaat. It include the taste of spicy from attractive 'Green Coriander Chutney' whereas the taste of sweet and sour from 'Sweet Chutney'. There is no particular measurement for the amount of ingredients used. Also can add extra veggies like chopped tomato, carrots or cucumber as toppings. Healthy and delicious chaat.




INGREDIENTS.

Readymade Puri.

Mashed Potato.

Chopped Onions.

Green chutney.

Sweet chutney ( Ready made).

Chopped Cilantro.

Sev.

METHOD.

Place puri's on the plate. Top them with mashed potato, chopped onions, both the chutney's, sev and lastly with cilantro.

Ready to serve.
