SUPERJEW ANTHEM

Kosha Dillz is back at it again.  As his infamous slogan suggests - he is everywhere.   I just watched him above on youtube in Boston, I'm pretty sure I heard him on my television during the Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight and I saw him earlier today - where he told me he'd probably be showing up somewhere at Bonnaroo and then heading to Israel.  I'm convinced he has a clone that just hustles for him.

Currently Kosha is out in Los Angeles working on a follow up record with Belief and gearing up for a few festival plays, but the "hardest working rapper in hip-hop" just posted a video for "SUPERJEW" - so we're sharing it.  Its a tribal anthem he created for the homie, Sly Young, who makes a cameo in the video - as do bagels, lox, JDate, a star of david, a yarmulke and a deli.  Its totally brand jewbian.

Avett Brothers: Bonnaroo and Nokia Theatre in June!

Brothers Scott and Seth Avett and third man Bob Crawford will be returning to play Los Angeles on June 22nd at the Nokia Theatre. Their heartfelt harmonies have probably lulled you into a folk rock daze on frequent occasion with their most popular (and my favorite) song I and Love and You.

Here they are singing that song at Bonnaroo back in 2010.

Speaking of Bonnaroo, The Avett Brothers will be returning to the Tennessee heat again this year (next week.)  They play on Friday, June 8 at 5:00pm at the What Stage.

Their performances are highly acclaimed being hailed as a “traveling celebration.” Beautiful ballads balance out porch-stomping rhythmic Americana anthems.   Whether you are checking them out at Bonnaroo or at the Nokia Theatre, they are not to be missed!

Check out their AWESOME music video for Head Full of Doubt/Heart Full of Promise below:

Sabotage Memorial

Portland film-maker James Winters paid homage to a hip-hop veteran, Adam "MCA" Yauch of the Beastie Boys with this remake of their "Sabotage" video with three kids.  #RIP

DELON'S MEMORIAL POOL PARTY RAGER w/ Delon, Dean Risko, Electric Drip & More!

Its kind of officially the kick off of summer this weekend - charcoal's getting hot, pools are getting filled, booze is flowing freely and skin is more exposed.   Just in case you weren't convinced - there are some festivals (Lightning In A Bottle, Silverlake Jubilee) too.

Assuming you're not fest-ing it up, or even if you are headed to Jubilee, you might want to consider a trip to Pasadena on Sunday at noon for DELON'S MEMORIAL WEEKEND POOL RAGER.  It's the launch of a series of pool parties that the DJ/MC will be hosting and performing at all summer long - from private residences, to swanky hotels.   BUT - unlike the others - this one is the first and comes along with free alcohol (including some tasty tasty XANTE), free food and, of course, free entry.  Space is limited - so you might want to RSVP to musicfuturenow@gmail.com to ensure you and your guests are included.  You can also RSVP via Facebook here.

Not convinced?  On top of being one of the first in LA to witness the Sri Lankan phenom drop his poppy party starter "Body Rock" - you may get a taste of some of his other unreleased material, as well as visits from other upstarts like Dean Risko, Electric Drip and Joy Island!  Check out Delon, Risko and Electric Drip's videos below.  Electric Drip's video is like Beastie Boys "Sabotage" had a baby with aliens and dub step music and that baby was a music video.

I'm heading out because not only are the musicians talented - but who can refuse free booze and food by the pool?  Not me.   Neither can Before The Bigs - the blog hosting the event.  Hope to see you at 880 Rosalind Rd., San Marino, CA 91108!

K. Flay Gets Dirty in So Cal (and Bonnaroo)

Former Stanford student and tom-boy k.flay brings her dirty lyrics and sneakerhead steeze to the left coast next week before heading east for Bonnaroo and more.  To celebrate her trip South, which includes a stop at The Constellation Room in Santa Ana and The Central SAPC in Santa Monica, we're paying homage in a blog post (and dishing out some free tickets to The Central show....)

If you don't know much about Kristine Flaherty - she's originally from Illinois and got the rap bug after moving to C-A to attend Stanford.  She claims her latest offering, Eyes Shut, is a response to 20-something apathy and an introspective nature.  With a colorful experience (she's toured the country as a solo white female rapper, her father died at age 14, etc.) - there is probably a lot of truth in her lyrics too.   You can witness first hand for yourself in SoCal this coming week or at Bonnaroo, where she drops 3 performances including That Tent at 4:15 pm on Thursday, and then later that night at The Silent Disco and again on Friday at the Silent Disco around 4 pm.

Don't miss your chance to catch this little spark plug before she releases a full length and blows up!  If you want a chance at winning tickets - send us a picture of a dirty street name similar to this k.flay photo.  Submissions should be sent to contest@supergoodmusic.com.  Alternatively, you can tweet out @supergoodmusic @thecentralsapc and @kflay along with a hashtag of your most creative dirty word!
