Boy, What A Week!

Hello everyone! I haven't posted since the OWOH...and boy what a week it has been! I've been having so much fun reading all of your responses, meeting new Bloggers and posting likely crazy on these amazing Blogs and their wonderful GIVEAWAYS! It's been so exciting and overwhelming at the same time!

I want to Thank all of those that have posted for my GIVEAWAY and to let you all know that there is still time to post and get involved with this wonderful event. The drawing won't take place until February 12, 2009, so Good Luck to you ALL!

I have some new projects in the works for my grand opening over at "ARTFIRE" http://www.artfire.com/ and "1000MARKETS" http://www.1000markets.com/, I am hoping to have those shops up and running in a few weeks. I have listed each shop on the sidebar, so you can check in to see what is going on there. I have posted some Eclectic Beings over at 1000 Markets. It is so hard to part with them, but I do know that they will find good homes!

Here are some latest projects that I am currently working on in the studio for a little teaser. The final outcome always amazes me from where they first started! That is the beauty of artwork, it just keeps changing.

This little creature was sculpted out of polymer clay with a wire armature. I am picturing her holding a CROW! I guess she will tell me exactly what she wants...LOL
This little guy...not sure what is going on with him yet. However I do know that it's a "He" and he looks really scared or very upset! LOL

These guys are from my new series entitled "Nostalgia - 1938" You can find some completed pieces in my Etsy Shop.

Here is a beginning of a Painting that I am currently working on. This is a Custom Order that I received from over the Pond (London). I'm picturing a Castle with white caps in the background! hmmmmm I'll have to see!

I hope you enjoyed these little teasers! Have a wonderful night and I will see you soon!

CHEERS!

A Day of Rest & A Day to Play With New Clay

After all the packages get torn apart, the food on the table, the music is playing and everyone has their egg nog (if you're lucky...it's got a little kick to it) it's time to take a breather and just relax and appreciate the gifts of life. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and you and your loved ones are all home safe and sound!

We were hoping for a "White Christmas" this year, but unfortunetely we had a warm spell float this way which gave us temps in the 60's! May be next year, Frosty will visit the East Coast!

With getting over a horrible cold, I had a chance to play with some clay today that Santa left me. Here are some things that I started working on:

These are going to be fun when they are done... "Surprise...Magnets" Can't wait to see how these turn out! I never made my own eyes before out of clay, so these will be interesting especially after I get a paintbrush in my hand...whooo hooo...could be fun...I could just slip and color my hair! Oh boy...wouldn't the boss love that when I go back to work on Monday? LOL

Have a great night and see you in the morning...for more clay fun!
Cheers!

FIRST SNOW & ADO CHALLENGE

Yes, I got out of work early because it's SNOWING! Wanted to get home before the big rush out of the office and the traffic started...Well...Let's just say...I did make it home, but a few hours later! LOL

The First Snow Hits The Studio...

I love smelling the snow. It's like you can always know, because of that smell in air! Like when it rains, it has a distinct smell!

The snow turned to freezing rain, so the trees all have natural icicles on them! It's just so beautiful and I love sitting outside on the porch and listening to the branches crackling against the wind. We are getting another storm tonight, but this storm is going to be ALL SNOW! I will have to wake up early and get my snow angels in before anyone gets up and starts making their snowman!

In between watching the storm and having a very hot tottie, I started working on my ADO Challenge. These pictures are in the beginning stages and I'm sure this little guy will change many times over...that is why I love art... you just never know what you are going to end up with! Enjoy and I hope where ever you live, you are smelling the SNOW!

Cheers!

CUSTOM ORDER-HAPPY BIRTHDAY RITA

Happy Birthday Rita...This was a custom order made especially for Rita for her BIRTHDAY, by her very dear friend Lady Lynn! Lady of the Sea was so much fun for me to create! I was having some problems with her face, but she settled for what she has! It's amazing when you are sculpting and creating such little whimsical people, they let you know how and what they want to be! LOL I used papier mache to sculpt her head, and then I aged her with vintage varnish. Rita is a collector of Mermaids, so "Lady of the Sea" will join her many other friends awaiting her arrival. Just in time because Rita is going to see the Little Mermaid in NYC! This was the first Mermaid that I have made, and I am very pleased at how she turned out. I am in the process of making another one for my wonderful, and truly a God send, Sister-in-Law! Pssssss Don't say anything! LOL
