Fellow jihadist forums claim Al Hesbah infiltrated and controlled by ISI, CIA
An Islamic website that carried a doomsday message that "London shall be bombed" before the discovery of two crude car bombs in London last week was notorious for having long been infiltrated and controlled by intelligence agencies and spooks who were trying to entrap suspected terrorists.
Hours before London explosives technicians dismantled a large car bomb in the heart of the British capital's tourist-rich theater district, a message appeared on one of the most widely used jihadist Internet forums, saying: "Today I say: Rejoice, by Allah, London shall be bombed," reported CBS News on Friday.
The website in question, Al Hesbah, has been attacked by other similar jihadist Internet forums for being a tool of intelligence agencies to monitor and entrap Islamic extremists.
The Al-Tajdeed website launched a campaign in March of last year in an attempt to expose Al Hesbah for "serving Arab and Western intelligence agencies, as well as exposing the founders of the famous Al-Ansar website (www.al-ansar.org), including the operator known as "Irhabi 007" and other members of the Global Islamic Media Front," according to a report by Gabriel Weimann, professor of communication at Haifa University, Israel.
This was also reported by The Intelligence Summit, a non-profit group that monitors Islamic websites.
According to the Jamestown Foundation, suspicions were cast that the Saudi ISI (which is wholly controlled by the CIA) had infiltrated Al-Hesbah and gleaned information leading to the rapid arrests of suspects linked to the attack on the Abqaiq oil facility in February 2006.
The website was subsequently suspended after two of its foremost users, Muhammad al-Zuhayri and Muhammad Tamallat, were exposed as intelligence agents.
It is by no means conclusive, but certainly interesting that a website charged with being a front for Western and Arab intelligence agencies was the venue for the proclamation that London would be bombed hours before the car bombs were actually discovered.

Durbin kept silent on prewar knowledge:"A congressional official familiar with the information about Iraq that was provided to the intelligence committee in 2002 said it did not differ from what the administration was saying publicly about the need to go to war in Iraq.
����'If [Mr. Durbin] thinks the president of the United States is lying to the American public about the war, he's wrong,' the official said.
����The official added that if Mr. Durbin felt so strongly that the administration was misleading the public, 'he should've done something about it.'
����But a spokesman for Mr. Durbin said the senator did publicly voice general, nonspecific concerns about the administration's promotion of the need for military intervention in Iraq prior to the war.

"Bill Moyers has put together an amazing 90-minute video documenting the lies that the Bush administration told to sell the Iraq war to the American public, with a special focus on how the media led the charge. I've watched an advance copy and read a transcript, and the most important thing I can say about it is: Watch PBS from 9:00 to 10:30 PM on Wednesday, April 25. While a great many pundits, not to mention presidents, look remarkably stupid or dishonest in the four-year-old clips included in "Buying the War," it's hard to take any spiteful pleasure in holding them to account, and not just because the killing and dying they facilitated is ongoing, but also because of what this video reveals about the mindset of members of the DC media. Moyers interviews media personalities, including Dan Rather, who clearly both understand what the media did wrong and are unable to really see it as having been wrong or avoidable.
It's great to see an American media outlet tell this story so well, but it leads one to ask: When will Congress tell it? While the Democrats were in the minority, they clamored for hearings and investigations, they pushed Resolutions of Inquiry into the White House Iraq Group and the Downing Street Minutes. Now in the majority, they've gone largely silent. The chief exception is the House Judiciary Committee's effort to question Condoleezza Rice next week about the forged Niger documents.
But what comes out of watching this show is a powerful realization that no investigation is needed by Congress, just as no hidden information was needed for the media to get the story right in the first place. The claims that the White House made were not honest mistakes. But neither were they deceptions. They were transparent and laughably absurd falsehoods. And they were high crimes and misdemeanors...."

Report Depicts Pentagon That Purposely Manipulated Intelligence Before U.S. Invasion of Iraq:"A 'very damning' report by the Defense Department's inspector general depicts a Pentagon that purposely manipulated intelligence in an effort to link Saddam Hussein to al-Qaida in the runup to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, says the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee."Highly disturbing" and "very damning," indeed. And yet not one Representative or Senator expressed real outrage over this: No one angrily demanded that Dick Cheney step down or that George Bush fire him or that those complicit in the manipulation of intelligence be held accountable to the American people for their duplicity.
'That was the argument that was used to make the sale to the American people about the need to go to war,' said Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich. He said the Pentagon's work, 'which was wrong, which was distorted, which was inappropriate ... is something which is highly disturbing.'

What a bunch of wimps we have in government ... wimps with empty words, without conscience.
I also saw a piece on NBC news today where one of our soldiers currently executing the "new strategy" in Baghdad -- a desperately dangerous game of craps, basically -- actually said on and directly to camera that they are accomplishing nothing, and that it is time for them to go home. None of the other soldiers within earshot seemed to disagree.
How come I didn't hear any Congressmen address the concerns of these young men, sent into an unnecessary, bungled war by a bunch of ideological greedy jerks whose lies are responsible for untold death, injury, and destruction?
What a country we live in ....
