CAS Birthday Inspiration with Uniko Alumni Brand Ambassador Jane Taylor

Happy Wednesday

It's a wonderful Wednesday as I am absolutely to have another Brand Ambassador Alumni joining us today, the one and only Jane Taylor.

Jane joined the Uniko family June 2015 having been a valued customer and regular participant in Uniko challenges and events. I was drawn to Jane's clean & graphic style of card making.

I'm delighted Jane agreed to make a card to help celebrate Uniko's birthday this month, let's have a look.

Just look at this colourful card.

Jane has used the Designer Dies Big & Bold Happy layered over a colourful stencilled background. The stencils Jane has used are Explosion! and Mid Century Modern Shapes. Such a fun combination. The accent birthday is from Everyday Sentiments.

A big thank you to Jane for joining us today and taking part in the Uniko 13th Birthday Celebrations. Be sure to leave some comment love here on the Uniko blog and across social media platforms if you use them. I will be randomly selecting comments through the month to win some prizes.

Uniko Birthday Inspiration Through The Years - Part 4

Happy Tuesday

Welcome to day 11 of the Uniko 13th Birthday Celebrations and part 4 of my Inspiration Through The Years. If you missed part 1,  part 2 and part 3 you can catch up HERE,  HERE and HERE

Today I am sharing three cards using a product from 2021 and 2022. I've then made a new card inspired by the original.

Let's have a look.

First up is this card using Background Blocks Wonky Stripes paired with Background Blocks Solid Wonky Stripes and Background Builders Delightful Diamonds, the later two were released in February 2021.

Here's my new version.

I opted for similar colours, but this time I decided to use some coloured card to stamp the Background Blocks Solid Wonky Stripes onto. Got to love a bit of tone on tone stamping.

I stamped the diamonds in Peacock, Oceanside and Aqua Sky and fussy cut them out. I then arranged them onto the background and adhered using foam tape. My sentiment choice this time is from Simply Said Blocks III which released in July 2021.

Lastly for today is a card from February 2022 using Framed Balloons.

And here is my remake.

I kept things pretty similar, but changed up my colours and I also added dimension by colouring, fussy cutting and using foam tape to adhere a selection of the balloons. This was instead of raising up the whole frame like last time.

I also switched out my sentiment to one from Everyday Sentiments which was released at the same time as the Framed Balloons.

Birthday Celebration at Uniko : Brand Ambassador Inspiration

 Hello everyone!

Happy Monday!

Uniko is celebrationg it's 13 Birthday!

Vinita here! I hope you all are enjoying the celebrations with Uniko!

Here is my take on the card!

I started by stamping the Background Blocks Grid on a white CS. I watercolored a few of the grid blocks.

I inked up the big butterfly using the English Country Garden Butterflies stamp &die set and watercolored it with my ZIG markers.

The leaf flourishes are die-cut from some green scraps using the Nature's Treasure II stamp and die set.  I created a clear window using an acetate sheet and added that sweet butterfly and green foliage.

If you want a chance to win, link your card to the Uniko blog. Then, check out all the other posts to comment and win!

Brighter Days Are Coming & A Little Peek

Hello & Happy Sunday!

I'm a lot later than planned, and not with what I intend to share with you all today. But Boy! All the prep and excitement for yesterdays Uniko 13th Birthday Stamping Retreat took it out of me!

Here's a little look at the room set up from yesterday.

As usual I was too distracted and forgot to take any photos during the workshop. But from the feedback, everyone had a lovely and creative time.

Today, I actually had to be a responsible adult and mum, and catch up on some things around the house in preparation for the week ahead. I'm sure I only did a food shop the other day, but these ever growing Beans have eaten us out of house and home.

Anyway, as I didn't quite finish my original cards I thought I would share one that I shared a peek of on social media yesterday and a little peek at another of something coming soon.

The cards in the kit were a mix of the January Release and the upcoming February Release. I chose Flower Power #11 from January going for some cheerful rainbow colours and a little brighter days sentiment.

This little stamp set is in demand and I can confirm that it'll be back in stock along with the new release at the end of the month.

Talking of restocks, I have a BIG restock of stencils coming this week, including the NEW Layering Picked Posies and Mid Century Modern Circles & Stars from the January Release. Along with others that have been requested.

I will update the website as soon as I have a definite confirmation and I will share here on the blog and via newsletter, along with another fun offer.

Talking of offers, this awesome offer ends tonight. Be sure to take advantage before it expires!

Lastly, before I go, a little peek at something coming soon....

Uniko Birthday Inspiration Through The Years - Part 3

Happy Friday.

Welcome to day 7 of the Uniko 13th Birthday Celebrations and part 3 of my Inspiration Through The Years. If you missed part 1 and part 2 you can catch up HERE and HERE.

Today I am sharing three cards using a product from 2018, 2019 and 2020. I've then made a new card inspired by the original.

Let's have a look.

First up is Kindness Blooms, which released in February 2018. I remember making this card and I loved creating the polka dot background and the fussy partial cutting.

So for my updated card I decided to do something similar.

I started by stamping the trio of large loopy blooms along the edge of my card, once the ink was dry I cut along to create this fun edge.

I then set to using the small circle/dot stamp to create the multicoloured polka dot background on my base card. The loopy flower layer is adhered using foam tape.

My sentiment choice is from Birthday Sentiments, which was released the same month. I think I love this fresh take on my original card.

Next up is 2019 and the year Uniko's most popular, ever growing and still highly sort after collection was released, the one and only Mid Century Modern Collection.

Two of the first 4 products released in May 2019 were Mid Century Modern Florals and Background Blocks Mid Century Modern, which I decided upon to use on my card today.

I don't think I will ever tire using this collection! There are so many creative options and colour combinations. I started by using the Mid Century Modern background, stamping it in Pebble ink.

I then added some 'flowers' stamped in Harbor, Honeysuckle, Sorbet, Buttercup and Sprout. My sentiment is from Birthday Wishes which also debuted in the same release.

Lastly for today is another super popular collection that was released in February 2020, my take on Art Deco.

This collection features Anniversarie Arts Decoratifs, Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs and Background Builders Arts Decoratifs. Since this original release I have added a Christmas version of the background block and I am always thinking of more to add!

Here's how I used the collection today...

I went for the clean and simple look today, using 3 of the background builder patterns to create a focal point. I then added some colour and a sentiment from the collection. A little bit of bling finished my card off.

I know the Background Builders is currently out of stock, it'll be back soon!

That's all from me today. I hope that you have enjoyed the inspiration today and this little look back at Uniko's past. I will have more to share in this mini series throughout the month.

More Birthday BA Inspiration

Good morning.
Julie here with some more Birthday themed inspiration for Uniko's 13th Birthday celebrations.
My friend's birthday is later this month so I thought I would combine it with a BA post using her favourite colour of red.

So what red flowers could I use, I thought roses, then the fab Gerbera stamp but finally decided on the gorgeous poppies in the Remembrance stamp set. The sentiments were not suitable for a birthday but poppies are always a cheery bloom, evoking open fields, blue skies and summer! Here's what I made.

I used my watercolour wash with masking fluid technique for this card, fuller details on this technique can be found here.
After stamping on Mixed Media paper with a pale ink, I used Altenew's Limestone, I added masking fluid and left to dry. A trick I saw recently says to run your brush through a bar of soap before dipping in the masking fluid and I think it does stop your brush from clagging.
When completely dry, I added water to my panel and flooded in 3 shades of green water colour. I also added a few areas of red to suggest poppies in the background. Try to keep the darkest greens to the area around the flowers, it will dry lighter, then I added my sheet of crumpled snappy wrap and left to dry fully. Only when it was COMPLETELY dry did I remove the snappy wrap and then the masking fluid.
Now it was just a case of colouring in the outlines with watercolour paint. Once dry, I trimmed my panel and added it to a panel of red card and then onto a 5 x 7 base card. The sentiment from Bauhaus Blocks was stamped on a scrap of matching paper completes.

That's all from me for the moment but please pop back tomorrow for more birthday inspired makes.
