Geometric Generation

Hey!

It's all a bit CrAzY here at the Brown household this week! It's all go to get jobs done around the house before the 'lil beans arrive. Today and yesterday we have trades men in who are fitting new windows and French doors. So along with it being noisy it is dusty and the house is upside-down! It'll all be done by the end of today and then I have a mammoth cleaning job ahead of me the rest of the week.

Luckily (I might rephrase that later!) this morning I am back at the hospital for another scan, so I am away from the chaos for 3 hours at least!

Yesterday evening after a little tidy up in the kitchen & while hubby was out playing football I decided to relax in the studio for an hour and made this card...

It didn't take the whole hour up, so I spent some time organising and part prepping hubby's cousins Wedding Invitation production line! His cousin gets married in September and I am on a tight schedule to get them completed in case the 'lil beans arrive sooner than expected.

Anyway, I was inspired by this weeks A Cure For The Monday Blues HERE on Taheerah's blog and the inspiration pic seen below. I was also partly inspired by this weeks Guest Designer for the challenge Leigh Penner's card created for the challenge.

It was nice to dust off a couple of older sets that haven't seen much ink for a while too, Background Builders: Round In Circles & Wonderful Washi. I'm really quite pleased with how it turned out :)

I had better get moving and go pick up my MIL who kindly comes along to the hospital with me for company :) We've some knitting to do today whilst we wait, I will share a fe things I've made over the next week or so.

I'll be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Straight to it!

Hey!

How are we all today? I hope your week has got off to a good start. So, I was still rather jet lagged yesterday due to only 3 hrs sleep, so much for me thinking I was nearly over it, my body clock was still on Vegas time, last night was better so it must be somewhere over the Atlantic now! Lol!

Anyway, I kept myself VERY busy yesterday and even found time to stamp to make this card...

I decided to make another masculine card to add to the small stash I have, I've been neglecting the men when it comes to card making! Easily done as feminine cards are SO much easier to make with all the lovely floral supplies available these days.

For this card I used one of the arrows from Accent Essentials: Arrows and paired it with one of the tiny chevron stamps from Wonderful Washi - Christmas. I inked one side of the chevron in Pumpkin Pie & the other in Real Red, inspired by the colours on one of the trees outside the studio. I did the same for the sentiment which is a mix of All Occasion Sentiments #2 and FONTiments - Birthday. The stamped panel is adhered to the base card with foam adhesive for a little dimension.

That's all from me today, I've some reordering of dies to do today & finalise some new die designs, plus some stamp designing to do, so many ideas that I need to bring to life!

Have a great day & thank you for stopping by :)

Design Team Inspiration-Inspired by Pinterest.

Hello everybody,

Gayatri here today sharing with you a card I made using a photo from Pinterest as inspiration.
Here is the the inspirational photo.

I was looking for quilt covers to buy and got distracted and started pinning them lol! Ooo, this is perfect inspiration to make a card, Pin it! lol!
Love the chevron background and the gorgeous bold flower cluster on the top. I made a little twist to it to make my card. First here is my card.

The twist here is I have used multi-coloured chevron as on the background and beautiful bold black flower and leaves. The flower and leaves from Beautiful Blooms stamp set is nice modern flower and leaves which is perfect if stamped in black. And the single chevrons from Background Builder: Chevron stamp set is perfect to stamp in various colours. I have used sentiment from Fontiment stamp set. Love the gorgeous curvy yet modern font. I have accented using rhinestones.

Here are the stamp set I have used for this card.

Man...I'm Crazy for CAS!

Hey!

I'm back as promised with a card to share and there is a little pun in my post title, which refers to the 2 challenges I used for my card, more of that in a bit. I've been wanting to use the little parallelogram stamps from Background Builders: Chevrons for sometime now and this is how I decided to use them...

I started out with a mixed Happy Birthday sentiment, the happy from All Occasion Sentiments #2 and the birthday from FONTiments - Birthday (which will be back in stock 29th June). I then stamped the parallelograms in Lucky Limeade & Black randomly pointing down towards the sentiment and up towards the sentiment.

I used the current Dynamic Duos challenge colours seen HERE and below, I substituted Pear Pizzaz for Lucky Limeade which is a close enough match!

I also happened across this NEW to me challenge blog called Crazy for CAS, which kinda sums me up! I LOVE CAS!! The current challenge is masculine and you can join in HERE

That's all from me today, be sure to check out my earlier post HERE to see if you were the June Release Mini Blog Hop Winner - the prize is a £25 gift certificate!! I'll be back again tomorrow with more to share.

Thanks for stopping by!

Not All Black & White

Hey!

I'm back today with a couple more cards to share that I made on Saturday at The Paperlane during the demo...

Yep, it's negative die cutting AGAIN with the soon to be released Designer Dies BRIGHT Butterflies! This time I used some muted DP behind the butterflies and was trying out some NEW Cosmic Shimmer EP on the celebrate sentiment...

This EP is pretty awesome & is super for picking up fine details. So I then went on to make this card...

I already had the 2 butterflies die cut from the card above & so stamped the coordinating butterfly with VersaMark ink and embossed them with the Cosmic Shimmer EP. I then stamped the black card base with one of the larger doilies from Decorative Doilies - The Hands Of Time in Fresh Snow ink. I used the same sentiment from FONTiments - Birthday as in the first card above but stamped it onto some Hibiscus Burst CS for that 'POP' of colour. The butterflies are adhered to the card using foam adhesive to add dimension...

I love how the embossing powder really shows off the flower detail on the butterflies wing! I treated myself to some NEW Cosmic Shimmer Silver Glitter whilst in the shop & I can't wait to try it out on a project or two.

I'm still resting up today but hope to get back in the studio this afternoon! Thanks for stopping by & for the comments you leave me. They are truly appreciated & make my day :)

Keeping it fair...

Hey!

Oh, how I LOVE Friday's! I look forward to Friday's all week! Not just because it's the weekend, but because it's The Walking Dead on Friday nights - yep I'm that sad I get excited about TV series! LOL!

Anyway, I'm keeping it fair on the blog today with one for the girls...

And one for the boys...

I whipped up these two CAS beauties in less than 20 minutes thanks to the current CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge seen HERE and below...

My inky card making mojo has been on  a wander lately, but this sketch has certainly made it run back in the right direction! I can see me using this sketch again in the near future!

Ok, so I have a whole day ahead of me before The Walking Dead airs on the TV, so I had best get a few jobs crossed off my ever growing 'To Do' list! I hope you all have a good day and have something fun to look forward to today or this weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

Autumn Neutrals

Hey!

Autumn is definitely in full swing here in the UK, the weather so far this week has kept me in The Studio working & not wanting to go outside! Anyway, I have an Autumnal masculine birthday card to share with you...

I was inspired not only by the weather to make this card but also by the current Less is More Challenge HERE, which is Autumn!

I decided to keep my card to Autumn Neutrals as I knew I wanted to used Uniko Studio Background Builders Lattice stamps to create a background and if I started adding a lot of colour it would have got a little busy and not so CAS.

I used another Memory Box Die I have had for a while but haven't seem to have used! I think I need to come up with a system of making sure I use stash instead of stashing it! Lol!

That's all from me today, I hope your all having a good week so far? We're half way to the weekend and halfway closer to the next Uniko Studio Super FREE Saturday! Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by.

Celebrate!

Hey!

Yesterday was a FABulous day here at Uniko Studio as I got to introduce my newest DT and Digital DT members :) If you missed it you can catch up on the news HERE. I also had a wonderful day getting inky and making lots of projects to share with you all over the next few days.

As I was in a celebratory mood yesterday the card I'm sharing with you reflects just how I was feeling...

I started off with a colour combination which I found on a new to me challenge blog HERE called Just Us Girls. Their current challenge is this colour combo seen HERE and below...

I kept my card neutral using the white & grey with just a splash of each of the 3 colours. I combined 3 Uniko Studio Clear Stamp sets on this card, Decorative Doilies - The Hands of Time, Background Builders - Lattice and FONTiments - Birthday.

Instead of fussy cutting out the doilies I used a 1 3/4" circle punch for the larger doily and a 1" circle punch for the smaller doily...

That's all from me today, I'm spending a bit more inky time in The Studio this morning before dinner and I've a few orders to pick and pack for posting on Monday so I best get to it if I'm going to get done what I intend to.

I hope you all have a lovely day, thanks for stopping by.

Getting Fancy with FONTiments!

Hey!

Welcome back to the blog & to the Uniko Studio product focus theme. Today I am focusing on 2 stamp sets, FONTiments - Birthday & FONTiment Fancies Swirls & Fourishes...

How about a few NEW projects using these 2 stamp sets ...

My first card uses the current iSpy Sketch HERE and seen below and the current The Play Date Cafe challenge colours seen HERE and below.

My next 2 cards are simple watercolour backgrounds with statement sentiments taking the focus along with the lovely colours. Another couple of quick and easy cards to make into a gift set in an array of colours...

Now for a few goodies but oldies to inspire you...

I hope I've inspired you to look back at stamps sets you haven't used for a while & at how you can use them differently either following a challenge or creating just for fun.

Thanks for stopping by today & enjoy the rest of your day!

Lattice Love

Hey!

Happy Weekend! Have you any inky plans this weekend? I hope to get a little inky and spend some time in the studio making a few NEW projects.

I'm back today however with the next instalment in the previously released product focus and my focus today is Background Builders Lattice...

This is a FAB building set which uses the trendy lattice/quatrefoil image - yum! So how about a few NEW projects using this set...

Keeping it Clean & Simple for this minty fresh beauty for the Moxie FAB World Minty Fresh Challenge HERE and also the Addicted To Stamps CAS Challenge HERE

I started out by masking off 2cm at the top and bottom of the card base I stamped one of the Background Builder Lattice stamps in Fresh Snow ink. I then took a piece of white card stock stamped and embossed another of the Lattice designs using fine detail white embossing powder. I then used one Distress Marker colour to create a monochrome ombre effect on the 2 layer butterfly.

Here's a close up ...

Background Builders Lattice also has a digital downloadable paper collection called Modern Lattice available HERE and seen below...

I had to use my FAVE paper from this collection for my next card, the tiny floral paper and kept it CAS to keep in line with the Addicted To Stamps CAS Challenge...

I selected some Soft Stone card stock to use as a mat for the patterned paper before adhering it to the white card base. I left a gap to break up the patterned paper collection and to create space for a sentiment from Time. The die cut flower is a Memory Box die and die cut from card stock which coordinates with the collection.

Now you've seen some NEW projects using this set & digital paper collection how about some oldies but goodies...

As you can see from this card the lattice pairs superbly with the graphic flowers from Time! This next card uses one of the single stamps contained in the set and uses paper piecing one of my FAVE techniques with these smaller stamps...

This card uses one of the patterned papers contained in the Modern Lattice digital paper collection along with the butterfly from English Country Garden digital stamp set and a sentiment from FONTiments - Birthday.

That's all for today using Background Builders Lattice and Modern Lattice digital paper collection. I hope you've enjoyed todays post?! I'll be back again tomorrow with another product focus or two. Thanks for stopping by.
