August Release Project Parade - Day 13!

Hi there!  Laurie here and I'm excited to share with you my project for this month's Project Parade!  The theme is "Something Old, Something New", so I took this opportunity to use one of my all time favorite Verve sets - Harvest Blessings (which just happens to be the Set of the Month right now and is currently 40% off)!

I created a little box holder to hold some mixed nuts - a perfect Fall treat!  Because Autumn in my favorite season, I just love to celebrate it (which includes giving treats to my friends :-)!

After stamping and coloring the wreath (from the Harvest Blessings set), I used the new Happy Hello set to create the inside border and sentiment!  A few embellishments, some Stickles, and ribbon later...my project was finished!

August Release Project Parade--Day 9

Well hi there friends, and welcome back this week to the Verve Project Parade for August. It's me, Susan! As a reminder, the theme this month is "Something Old, Something New". It's been forever since I've been to a wedding, so I wasn't inspired to go that direction. So I considered that since the idea of the theme was to use something old (older Verve stamps) along with something new (newer Verve stamps), just me being the "something old" wouldn't work. Teehee!

One of my very first favorites from Verve was Petals and Stems. I decided to pair it up with the Happy Hello set that was just released in August. I even grabbed something old and used something new from my stash--this little library card along with several new steel dies I've accumulated recently! I picked a few of these library cards up two years ago at the teacher store here near my house (it's authentic!).

I love how the flowers from Petals and Stems layer so cutely on top of the little felt flowers. I made the envelope myself and it really does open, but I haven't got anything inside it (yet). The library card is all sparkly, too, since I sprayed it with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. It's a very happy little card and I can't wait to make another one like it!

August Release Project Parade: Day 5

Happy Tuesday, Verve Fans!! It's Shannan here, coming by to share my project for this August's parade. This month we are mixing it up with the theme "Something Old, Something New" and let me just tell you...pulling out my older Verve sets has totally kick-started my mojo! This theme doesn't necessarily mean wedding (but of course it could) - its a challenge for anyone who would like to play along to use a previously released Verve stamp set with one of the new sets that was just released this August 20th. (If you don't have the newest Verve sets - no worries, just mix an older set from your stash with a "new to you" stamp set and join the fun!)

As I was going through all my stamp sets to choose something to work with, I couldn't decide on just one! So I made a little set of 3 cards, each using a new and an old set.




For the first card, I chose the large and small leafy image from Great Friend. I stamped them in Versamark Ink onto a piece of Kraft cardstock and added a few accents of patterned paper and lace trim. The sentiment from Believe was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.





The next card I created showcases a sentiment from Framed Wishes (a special gift with purchase) and flower from Dream Big. I stamped one of my favorite Verve backgrounds ever, from Artful Elegance, in Versamark on Kraft cardstock. Some sponging and coordinating patterned paper finish this one off beautifully.




Last but not least, I created a card using the circle image from Happy Hello along with this gorgeous image and sentiment from Let it Shine. I punched different parts of the sunny flower image out with my circle punch, then popped them up over the stamped circles. To finish this one off, I added another touch of coordinating patterned paper, some Diamond Stickles, and some paper piercing.

New Release Spotlight: Kind Words & Happy Hello

Hello and welcome to Day 5 of our Anni-VERVE-sary New Release Spotlights!

Each day through August 19, we're previewing another set or two from our upcoming Anni-VERVE-sary release.  We've hidden a prize on one of the participating blogs each day, so leave a little comment love as you hop around to be entered into a drawing to win that day's featured stamps!  Deadline for comment entries is 6PM Eastern Friday, August 20.  Winners will be announced at our Anni-VERVE-sary Bash Release Party that night.  And for even more chances to win new stamps, play along with our Anni-VERVE-sary sketch challenges, going  on this week in our forum!

Today the Divas are spotlighting  two new sets.... Kind Words and Happy Hello.

Kind Words is a 4 x 6" set of 7 stamps that will retail for $15. It includes a wispy little silhouette flower duo, the title quote from Mother Teresa and five other encouraging sentiments.

Happy Hello is a 4 x 6" set of 17 stamps that will retail for $15.  It includes both a small circle and rounded square frame and several greetings to fit inside them.  There are also a few options of small square and circle trios to choose from, making it easy to build interesting patterns, highlight a sentiment, or simply use to help space a trio of embellishments perfectly.
