I started with this week's Mojo Monday sketch (always an inspiration in and of itself!) and added some non-traditional Christmas colors, to go along with Verve's latest stamp release. This set is called Pinecone Christmas. The papers are from Crate Paper's Portrait collection. I added the big poinsettia to tie in the Christmas theme. All edges are sponged with Walnut Stain distress ink and I also added a sweet little twine bow.

November Diva Dare - Day 9

Hey everyone!

Welcome to Day 9 of the November Diva Dare! Chaitali here today for the Diva Dare.

This month's dare is entitled Vellum Visions.  Soft and classy, vellum always makes a big impression.  So, this month, we are daring you to add some vellum to your card or project. 

Here is my card with a vellum panel and an embossed gold sentiment!

I still had all the sets from the recent release on my craft table and ofcourse I'm on a Christmas cardmaking spree. So I used a stamp from each of the 3 new November sets. The sentiment is from Weary World, the poinsettia from Pinecone Christmas and the candles image from Light My World. I colored the poinsettia and candles with Copics then fussy cut them out. Fussy cutting is so relaxing! I missed it for the longest time! So glad I got to try it out on this card :) The sequins are from the recently released holiday sequin mix.

This is one super easy Diva Dare for me!  I absolutely adore vellum and actually try not to use it on every card!  Hee!  I embossed one of my favorite sentiments from the Stronger Love stamp set onto vellum using black detail embossing powder.  I kept the design simple, adding just a few embellishments.

Welcome to November's Diva Dare!  Christyne here, bringing you some more inspiration for this month's Diva Dare: Vellum Visions!  Soft and classy...vellum always makes a big impression!  So, this month we are daring you to add some vellum to your card or project.

My card for you today, answering this awesome challenge, uses a soft palette with vellum mats.  I like using vellum mats when I want a more subtle contrast or border than traditional paper mats would provide.  I paired this dare with today's fresh VLV inspiration and sketch challenges.  These challenges inspired me to use the Tall Oaks stamp set to create a soft fall-themed card to pair with my vellum.  I also used the Autumn Elements ribbon collection and the Shine Bright sequin mix to embellish my card.

Welcome to November's Diva Dare!  Stacey here, bringing you another day of Vellum Visions inspiration for this month's challenge!  Soft and classy...vellum always makes a big impression!  So, this month we are daring you to add some vellum to your card or project.

Vellum!  What can I say?!  I LOVE vellum...it makes me happy!  It's so soft and subtle, yet adds such a fabulous texture and elegance to cards that is perfect for all occasions.  As I was flipping through my beloved Verve stamp sets, this one.. Shining Star, really caught my eye!  I paired the faithful sentiment from it with the Sweet Scallop Die and Starry Die.  Vellum stars...yes!  I embellished the soft stars with some sparkly sequins and a fun bow from the Pastel Polka Ribbon Collection.

Welcome to November's Diva Dare!  It's Amber bringing you Day 5!  This month's dare is entitled Vellum Visions.  Soft and classy, vellum always makes a big impression.  So, this month, we are daring you to add some vellum to your card or project. 

There is nothing like vellum for adding a soft touch to your card! I just love white embossing on vellum, such a gorgeous look, so I decided to stamp these beautiful poinsettia's from Joyous Noel and emboss them in white on vellum. I cut them out by hand, and then stamped the single layer and embossed it, cut it out, and layered it on top of the poinsettias. The beautiful snowflakes are from Unto Us, and of course I had to use the amazing Shine Bright sequins!

Oh, I've been waiting for this Diva Dare for awhile!  I love vellum!  I remember being introduced to it a LONG time ago at my Stampin' Up! workshops and loving the softness it brings to a project.  So I'm always on the lookout for new ideas with vellum.  I came up with the vellum doily idea in the summer during a Verve Release.  I didn't want to cover up some pretty mixed media paper and today's card was the same.  I didn't want to cover up the gorgeous colours on my patterned paper.  Today's card is a for a friend's mom's birthday so I made sure to include these heartfelt sentiments from Doodled Occasions along with the Hearts and Swirls frame from Die Sidekicks.

November Diva Dare-Day 3

Welcome to November's Diva Dare!  It's Charmaine bringing you Day 3!  This month's dare is entitled Vellum Visions.  Soft and classy, vellum always makes a big impression.  So, this month, we are daring you to add some vellum to your card or project. 

I don't use vellum very often, but when I do, it's usually to "soften" a busy patterned paper so that I can stamp a sentiment.  For my card, I used the Surely Goodness set along with the coordinating dies, Goodness Flowers Die Set.  The papers are from the Simple Life Collection from Echo Park. 

I stamped the sentiment onto the vellum and then some flowers from the set.  The large flower was die cut and then stamped and added to the card with foam tape.  I used some ribbon from the Spring Fling Collection to finish the card.

Hi friends, it is Teresa. This month's dare is entitled Vellum Visions.  Soft and classy, vellum always makes a big impression.

I am vellum challenged, so much so I do not own any...lol. As much as I luv it, I find it very hard to use; so I used a piece of printed acetate the closest thing to vellum I have. I also find acetate hard to use, but I went with it to take this month's dare! I have used today's Mojo Monday sketch, I hope you will join us; this weeks sketch is awesome! I have used the sentiment from the Verve set Be Blessed.

November 2014 Diva Dare

  Vellum Visions - November Diva Dare

Welcome to November's Diva Dare!  This month's dare is entitled Vellum Visions.  Soft and classy, vellum always makes a big impression.  So, this month, we are daring you to add some vellum to your card or project. 

I love white on white cards and had a winter wonderland concept in my mind for this month's Diva Dare.  I hand cut my "snow banks" and used both the embossed and debossed side of my Swiss Dots embossing folder to create some depth between the two snow banks with the texture difference.  Next, I used the Christmas tree die from the Winter Fun set to cut out five vellum trees and arranged them on my hills, making one a 3D tree for some dimension and interest.  A few bling centered snowflakes and silver cording along the bottom added a touch of colour and sparkle to my winter wonderland, and I finished things off by adding a small tag using "joy" from Inspire Hope as it is my favorite Christmas word.
