Monday is the perfect time for complaining. So that's exactly what I'm going to do.
I'm going to bitch about the fact that I had to be up in Bergen County at 9:00 this morning. Lead defense counsel prevailed upon me for a favor and asked if I could make sure I was there on time so she could get across town for her deposition at 11. I'm always in court on time, but I wasn't overly offended since I was traveling from the furthest away. I left my house at 7 so I could be there on time and SHE was late. And this settlement conference was a colossal waste of my time.
I'm going to moan about the fact that I then walked through the door and was bombarded by the following emails: "SEE ME NOW! You have to proofread my brief that has to be stitch bound and delivered to the Supreme Court in 2 days" "REPORT DIRECTLY TO ED! He was a very important question to ask you" "IMMEDIATELY! DO THIS NOW"
Okay...if you need me to read over your brief that desperately, you could have emailed it to me over the weekend. The question was not that important that I had to deal with it before I ate lunch. And I wouldn't have to deal with your emergencies if you had just listened to me TWO WEEKS AGO when I told you that we should do exactly what you just ordered me to take care of. By the way, if the defendant already mortgaged the property or sold it out from under our client, filing a lis pendens today isn't going to do a damn bit of good.
I'm going to whine about the fact that as I was walking out the door, a client retained us to defend him against an emergent application returnable tomorrow in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. It's 6:00! WHAT do you think I can do for you between now and when someone has to leave to head out to PA tomorrow morning? At least the billables will be good...
And I'm really going to complain about the cop who pulled me over on my way home from work after the LOVELY day I was having. I was cut off by 8 different cars. People were whizzing by my window, tailgating, and doing all other bad things that violated all kinds of traffic laws.
Yet the bastard pulled ME over. For talking on my cell phone. Give me a freaking break.
And he immediately wrote me a ticket. I didn't even have a chance to tell him that I've never been given a ticket and have a perfect driving record... Jerk had to go and ruin that.
I think it's time for a drink.
So pull up a chair, grab a glass and tell me what went wrong with YOUR day. Misery loves company, you know.

Ha! See my post today, if you wish. Just poured a glass of wine!
I certainly could never top this load of heaping crap you had going on today!
You deserve some whine with your wine!
Oh what a crappy crappy day! That really sucks for you. Although I don't think my day will top yours, it was still a monday in the pharmacy so life was crazy. On the bright side, going to Boston for a week so I'm ready! Oh, and wine? Got it already...
Hope tuesday is better!
O, sounds like a Monday. The cop, what an ass.
If I told you what happened to me today, it would make you laugh, but it really is TMI!!!! Oh I won't keep you in suspense, lets just say that nature called far away from any facility and I worked all day without socks! You figure it out! LOL!
Lol @otin!
His day crushed yours!
OH... a ticket!!! You had an awful day. I bet you can not cry on demand either to get sympathy from the cop. I never get out of a ticket. NEVER!! Best for me to avoid my local speed trap towns that make ticketing their main source of revenue.
And work.... I feel your pain!! I politely tell my boss (principal) when I see a problem looming. He never does anything, but I feel better that I mentioned it to him.
Yes I too started a Moaning Monday thing a few weeks ago but it got too depressing. Now I cut out the moaning and head straight for the drink.
Oh my. What a crappy day! I'm so so sorry. I can't believe he gave you a ticket. Not even a warning! Is it illegal where you live to talk on a cell phone?
Hope you were able to enjoy a drink.
On my end...job sucks. We've had 2 people quit in my dept. and I've taken on some of their responsibilities so I'm now doing 3 jobs. Days are busy and my boss is a total ass. I believe he called me a monkey the other day. I'll commiserate with you.
I think yesterday was a shit day for everyone. Mine wasn't too bad, other than I had to start the day at the gyno.
wow. and its only Monday...as I told Megan...its good it only comes once a week...
Yesterday was officially 2 weeks now that I've had my period... yah... 2 fucking weeks. I'm whining.
But hey... Seems like it's done today... so that's a good thing.
GD effing cop. Doesn't he know how important a clean driving record is! How rude!!
I'm so sorry to hear about your bad day. What was up with that officer? I guess he was having a bad day, too. :-)
