Dordrecht - Thursday 24th of March - festive exhibition opening at Kunstkerk Dordrecht.

Yesterday we were invited to a preview of the exhibition NIET MEER NORMAAL by Anouk Kruithof, an artist from Dordrecht, in the new Kunstkerk.

From tomorrow Kunstkerk will open its doors to the public. Come and see! (free entrance)

It's a divine meeting place and production house. A place where artists, culture makers and scientists are invited to create new work.

there's a new place outside town

Friday 11th of March.

This afternoon we went to the opening party at De Zuileshoeve, a new place outside town created by our old friends Hans & Lia Hilkmann.

Hidden among the greenery of De Biesbosch National Park, the Zuileshoeve is located on the water side.
A quiet place near an old orchard. A barn that has been restored and transformed into a bed & breakfast with four rooms with a view. It's is all about peace, nature and hospitality. It's a perfect stopover during a walk or bike ride through the area, to enjoy a drink or lunch on the terrace or in the restaurant.

And soon you can also book a room.

musee yves saint laurent marrakech

“When Yves Saint Laurent first discovered Marrakech in 1966, he was so moved by the city that he decided to buy a house here, and returned regularly. It feels perfectly natural, fifty years later, to build a museum dedicated to his oeuvre, which was so inspired by this country.” - Pierre Bergé

Today is the opening of Musee YVES SAINT LAURENT Marrakech.

A museum entirely devoted to the work of the legendary fashion designer, Yves Saint Laurent (1936-2008).
The new building, situated on Rue Yves Saint Laurent next to Jardin Majorelle, spans over 4,000 m² and is more than just a museum. Designed by Studio KO, it features a 400 m² permanent exhibition space where the work of Yves Saint Laurent will be presented in a scenography by Christophe Martin; a 150 m² space for temporary exhibitions, a 130-seat auditorium, a boutique and bookshop, a café-restaurant, as well as a research library comprising 5,000 volumes.

Last week I past the building by bike several times and I watched videos of key moments in the YSL history, at a mighty public screening on the Djemaa el Fna on Friday evening.

During an official ceremony on Saturday, we even were allowed to cycle past the strictly secured and closed Rue YSL, right next to the red carpet, with our Green Gardens workshop group on 12 bikes.

Never-to-be-forgotten memories!

Yesterday, just one day before the opening I left Marrakech. For an invitation to the opening today, I would have missed my flight without hesitation.

Well at least now I have another good reason to go back to Marrakech.
