Sleeping with Books

Couldn't decide what's the title for this post. Since I am talking about the books just by my bed side, they are as good as sleeping with me, so I just give this post title as Sleeping with Books. I like to read. One could judge by the thick glasses I am wearing.  Books are the knowledge power house for all of us. whether we finish reading the whole book, part of the book or just few pages of it, we will be able to learn something out of it.

These are the books the I am sleeping with.  About half are cook books.  I have confessed before that I love to eat but not a good cook, thus need more cook books to inspire me to be more creative in my cooking.  Other than cook books, I also like to read motivational and business related books.  Will show you my family's collection of books next time.
I realised that the Information technology (IT) advancement is too fast that my knowledge on this area is far lacking behind, I should start reading publications on IT, if not I will be just like those old gadgets becoming "obsolete" soon.

No postage service to Israel

Do you know that there is no postage service to Israel by Pos malaysia? Recently I posted a packet via Pos Malaysia registered airmail to a buyer in Israel whom bought an item from my online shop. I have checked and noticed that she has previously did some purchases from other sellers in Malaysia, I thought it should be alright to accept her payments and proceed to send the product to her.

Last week I found a Pos Malaysia's notice in my mail box requesting me to see the officer regarding a post that I sent to Israel 2 weeks ago which I thought it has arrived to the receiver.

I went to see the officer yesterday, I waited about 45 minutes in her office situated in the main post office mails sorting room, I never knew the sorting room is such a big place with many sorting clerks standing there sorting out baskets and baskets of our mails each day. I was thinking of taking photos but dropped the ideas in case of infringement of privacy whatsoever.

The officer was not late, her working hour starts from 9am, I thought all government servants start work at 8am, I was too early. She explained to me that my post has in fact arrived at KLIA and it was returned due to no service to Israel, advise me to claim it back and sent by other service provider which is much more expensive. I told her that why at the first place the pos office clerk accepted my post when I sent it through the counter? Well, human do make mistakes.

I will have to go back there to see the officer again to claim my packet of mail as I did not bring my prove of postage when I see her yesterday, it was left in the office. The postage that I paid for is claimable, I can imagine it's going to be a long process for me claim back postage and I also have to refund my buyer her money :(

DON'T SLEEP LATE - LIVER DAMAGE

I received this email message from my SIL, Alice some days ago thought might be useful for our fellow bloggers whom like me blogging away till wee hours most of the time at the expense of good nights sleep.

"Good rest and sound sleep is very Important... if you don't sleep well, the toxic in your body will accumulate.. Affecting your health and your mood... The main causes of liver damage are:
1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are the main cause.
2.Not urinating in the morning.
3.Too much eating.
4.Skipping breakfast.
5.Consuming too much medication.
6.Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener.
7.Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.
8.Consuming overly done foods also add to the burden of liver. Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.
We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our body to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to "schedule." Because:
Evening at 9 - 11pm : is the time for eliminating unnecessary/ toxic chemicals (de-toxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on her health.
Evening at 11pm - 1am : The de-toxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.
Early morning 1 - 3am : de-toxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.
Early morning 3 - 5am : de-toxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the de-toxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.
Morning 5 - 7am : de-toxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.
Morning 7 - 9am : Absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30am, for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 -10am rather than no meal at all.
Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals. Aside from that, midnight to 4am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late."
Sharing Is Caring! Please share this message and take care..
It's about 2am now, I better go to sleep. Good night...ZZZZZ...

TALKS ON "THE LOVE AND TENDERNESS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD"

The Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is cordially inviting members of the church to attend a twice weekly talks on "the Love and Tenderness of The Good Shepherd" as follows:
Commencement date : 31st march, 2008
Days : every Monday and Thursday
Time : 7:30pm
Venue : Conference Room (above Blessed Sacrement Chapel)
At some stage of our lives we do experience some what down and out moments, some feel wounded or broken in life and don't seem to go anywhere no matter how much we try with our own strength and do not know where to turn to. Do you know it is the brokenness that we most often realize our helplessness without God? Without him and without doing his will, we ultimately end up lost and broken.

Have you heard about the ancient shepherd tended to the wounded sheep whose front legs were broken by him to avoid it to wander and lead the rest of the flock astray? He would then carry that sheep on his shoulder until the legs healed. During that process it created a strong bond between them. Jesus too will lovingly carry us through and heal our wounds in the same way like the ancient shepherd.

Many of our Parish have experienced this action of grace and come to realize that God has the power to take the most broken life and mend it for his glory. Many are looking for this experience in the midst of their own suffering. Let a team of catechists who has had a measure of this experience share with you so that you too may see peace and joy in your life.

Pass this invitation to whom you think may want to come and listen to the talks.
