This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Late 1860's/Early 1870's Summer Dress
From the seller:
A fetching 1880’s white cotton and eyelet summer seaside bustle dress. The front of the bodice is decorated with eyelet trim. The sleeves are made of eyelet and plain cotton. There are trimmed with an eyelet epaulette. The bodice is unlined and has a front tiny Dorset button closure. The front of the skirt is designed with rows of wide pleating and trimmed with eyelet. The front hemline is trimmed with eyelet. The skirt is unlined and has ties on the inside for adjusting the bustle effect. The dress is in very good condition. The ribbon a the waist is not included. There is one ½ mend near the back collar and a very tiny mend in the same area. Bust 36 Waist 28 Skirt length 44.
From Me:
Based on the waist length, the fullness of the skirt, and the sort of v neck opening, I'm thinking more early Bustle era for this dress.
