Scrapping The Little Things with My Creative Time - Smash Album

Hello and welcome back!!  I can't believe that it is already the first week of September.....where did the summer go??  I know that I didn't get near as many things accomplished this summer as I was wanting to, hopefully I can get some of them done in the coming weeks before it gets too cold outside.

Today is the first day of another new segment at My Creative Time.  Emma has put out a wonderful stamp set that goes PERFECTLY with Smash albums as well as Project Life.  She also has some other great sets that work well with these, too.  I have to admit that I picked up a couple of smash albums a year or so ago and haven't used them yet, but because of this fun new segment with My Creative Time called Scrapping the Little Things, I had to pull it out and give it a try, so here you go.....my very first pages in my smash album:

I had soooo much fun pulling this all together.  I used some scraps and a few other little items that I just had lying around for this album.  I also used the Just Simply Live and All Around Everything Accessories stamp sets from the My Creative Time Shop.  Check out these close ups:

I had fun misting with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and adding some fun Washi Tape and rub-ons that I just has lying around.  I also tied a little bit of Orchid bakers twine from The Twinery onto the paper clips.  I can't wait to get in and create some more pages......I think I am HOOKED!!

These pages show some shots of my scrapping space.......I have some larger ones that I will share with you later this week.  I really ♥ my craft room!!  Now, hop on over to the My Creative Time blog to see what other design team members have created, too.

Amy

Easy Scrap Tool Organizer with Mini Tutorial

I don't have a paper crafting project to share with you today, but I wanted to share this really easy scrapping tool organizer that I made last week.  I am keeping some ink pads, twine spools, stamps, metal embellishments, and some adhesive stored in it.  I have it on my desk within easy reach and it looks so fab!!

Here is how I made it.......
I found the pieces at a second hand store (a total of $5) and bought the paint and adhesive at Michaels (with lots left over for other projects). I washed the glass candlestick and lightly sanded the metal pieces (to help the paint adhere) and then painted the metal pieces with spray paint....make sure you use the spray paint in a well ventilated area.....I did mine outside.
I added a few layers of paint and waited for it to completely dry. I then glued and assembled the pieces together.  The adhesive that I used is Aleene's 7800 Platinum Bond.  Here is the project completely finished......

I hope that this has inspired you to search the shelves at your local second hand store for something you can get your hands on to alter and make your own.  Don't forget that I have a fun giveaway going on.......Click HERE to get entered......I will be drawing a winner this weekend.  =)

Caring Thoughts Card And My New Craft Table

I have been busy with so many things this week, I haven't had much scrapping time.  I do have a couple of things to share with you today.  First up is this card that I made a couple of weeks ago.....

I used my Cricut with Freshly Picked and Sweethearts cartridges.  I added a little texture to the planter with my bone folder and then inked it up.  That fab sentiment is from SRM Stickers.

We must have spring fever around here because we have been purging and cleaning like crazy.  I also have some fun news.....my scrapping table is all done!!  WooHoo!!  Here is what it looks like now.  I still need to fill the shelves, which will be no problem for me ;) and I was thinking of stenciling on the lighter colored spaces or something.....what do you think??

We modified plans from Ana White for my table.  It took my husband about 3 days to put it together and it took me a little over a day to paint it all.

I am going to get some stuff done and get those shelves filled.  Don't forget I have a little giveaway going on....CLICK HERE to find out how to enter.

Scrapbook Room Clean-out Giveaway #5 (Final Day)

Today is the last day on my Scrapbook Room Clean-out and Giveaway.  Thanks for joining me over the last week.  I have had fun sharing with you as I organize and get my room put together.  I am not quite done yet (still a couple of stacks of paper to deal with...hehe).  Hopefully I will have my new desk done in the next couple of weeks....I will share photos of my completed space when it is all done.  Thanks for the wonderful comments you have been leaving me along the way.  I am so happy to hear that I have inspired you in some way to get your rooms organized.

Today, I am going to share with you my *favorite* part of my organizing.  The kid's craft corner......
It is my *favorite* part because my kids can be in the room with me and I can even craft and supervise when they are doing their homework.  I bought this little table (unfinished) from the clearance section of a craft store a couple of years ago.  My husband finished it for the kids last year and I just moved it in here for them to use.  I used the left over piece of peg board for some of their tools from the one that was cut from the huge piece that I bought at Home Depot for my peg board.  I also cleaned up and hung a cork board that has been sitting in our garage for a few years for them to display their creations on.  The corner shelf is one that I picked up at a yard sale years ago and was in my old crafting space.  I know that they will find many hours of enjoyment crafting along with me.....which is one of their favorite things.

For my last giveaway I have this Complete Scrapbook Kit by Colorbök along with this lovely box of silk flowers by 3 Birds.

This scrapbook kit has over 460 pieces and includes an album.

I am so excited to get many of my embellishments and papers organized.  I still have a few DCWV Stacks that won't fit in here, but I will find somewhere to put them.  ;)

Scrapbook Room Clean-out Giveaway #2

Did you know that January was National Organization Month??  While I have been cleaning and reorganizing my craft stuff, I have come to the conclusion that I WILL NOT be buying any more supplies or products unless I KNOW I will use it.  I have so many things that I have spent money on and I have have only used it once or twice, or better yet, never even used (like my giveaway yesterday).  I am glad to see that there are so many of you out there that will put good use to these items.

Today, I am going to share how I am going to display my favorite layouts in my new room.......
I have a few that I don't want to put away immediately.  My husband has quite a few left over goodies in his garage (his equivalent to my scrapbook room) and I asked if he had some extra circle ended screws and wire to help me out.  He did have some and so I had him hang them high on my wall and I put my layouts sideways into page protectors and hung them with clips along the wire with the open end of the page protector on the side to help keep the dust from getting in.  This was a super cheap and easy way to display my favorite layouts and I won't have to put them into books immediately......plus they are really easy to switch out if I have new favorites.

Now, for my giveaway today, I have something that I haven't pulled out and used for a loooooong time.  It was one of the first tools that I purchased and only used two or three times.  It is the Sizzix Paddle Punch system.  I am not even sure if they make them anymore, but I have seen them on ebay.
Included in this giveaway:
- Nine paddle punches in the following shapes: Large square,
small square, large circle, small circle, butterfly, heart, swirl,
   star, and leaf.
- Hammer with two replacement heads
- Poker to help remove the cut out from inside the paddle
- Mat

Scrapbook Room Clean-out Giveaway #1

Hello everyone!!

My room is starting to come together.....finally!!  I have everything moved over to my new space, now the real task at hand is organizing it all.  I hope to have it all done by the end of the week and maybe have my new desk built (by my wonderful hubby) sometime in the next couple of weeks.  I will share a few photos with you this week of my new space.

This is how I am going to store my mountain of wooden stamp sets.

I bought these shelves in the home organization aisle of a local department store.  I already had one, so I bought another one to stack on top of it so that I had more room for stamps.  I am glad that I have them all together and out in the open....maybe I will be more likely to use them.  ;)

As I go through my scrapping stash, I am finding stuff that I don't have a use for and I would love to share it with someone who will have use for it. Today, I have this HUGE block of 360 sheets of scrapbook paper that I would love to giveaway to one lucky winner.
It is 360 sheets with 4 sheets of 90 patterns & colors with coordinating solids.  Acid-free/Lignin-free scrapbook paper.

To enter:
  • Leave a comment under this post and tell me something that you would like to use this paper for (cards, scrapbook pages, altered items, school projects, etc.)
  • Be a public follower or subscriber to my blog (sign up on the right sidebar)
One entry per person, please....duplicate entries will be deleted.  I will randomly draw a winner on Monday January 31st.

Good luck and come back soon because I have stuff to giveaway all week long (I have 4 or 5 giveaways).  I also have an AWESOME giveaway I am planning when I reach 1000 followers/subscribers, so stay tuned and tell your friends.  ;)

My Scrap Space

I have a little room, about 8 feet by 9 feet, but it is nice and cozy. I have various storage for my scrapbooking supplies. I just pick them up when I can get a good deal and if it will work in the space in the room that I want to put it. This first picture is of my main work area. I have a desk and a little folding table in an 'L' position. It makes it easy to work on a project on one surface and to have the extra space to use my paper trimmer and other tools.

The second picture is a little wooden shelf that I store a lot of my most used stamps and other tools. I also keep my pictures and most of my small embellishments in the cropper hopper storage on top. I have some storage on a little built in shelf above the wooden shelves. I have my ribbon storage on top of that. I also keep my cuttlebug stuff up there, too.
In the third picture, I have my paper storage. I have found the black paper storage shelves at my local Michaels. It keeps my cardstock nice and straight. I keep my loose patterned paper on the top of the cropper hopper cart in the vertical paper holders. I have my stacks of patterned paper on the bottom of the cart.
Here is where my cricut Expression lives. I also have my little photo printer on this buffet table. Inside is where I keep some of my lesser used tools, extra supplies, like adhesive, and my photo printer stuff. On the shelves above the Expressions, I have my Prima's and extra storage boxes. On the shelves to the right, I have my cartridges, page kits, books, and my scrapbooks that are in progress. On the top, I have my little girls scrapbooking supplies. (To the right of this shelves, I have my empty cricut cartridge boxes.)
With this last photo, I have my door that I keep my punches and close at hand tools and embellishments in a hanging craft organizer. I also keep my scrap tote handy here because I go to crops at least once a month and leave some of the smaller supplies in it that I take to all of my crops and use all the time at home. Above that (sorry not a full photo of it) I have a couple of plastic magazine holders that I got from Walmart and altered. I have my stickers and rub-ons in two separate ones hanging on the wall to the left of my desk.
I hope that you enjoyed this tour of my room. If you have any questions, please let me know. I have a few projects in the works and I will post them when I get them done.
