Scrapping the Little Things with MCT

Today we are Scrapping the Little Things over at the My Creative Time blog.

Today I have a SMASH book page to share with you about one of my favorite hobbies......other than paper crafting of course!!  Now if you remember, the SMASH album that I have started is one about me because I rarely, if ever scrapbook about myself.  I wanted something that my kids could have and pass on about my life.
I learned how to crochet from my grandmother and I hope to be able to pass it on to my own kiddos  Next to the title, which is created with the Label Font and Lowercase Fun Dies, I added a bit of crocheted Solid Natural bakers twine from The Twinery.

I also added some journaling under the picture on the first page about what I remember when I first was learning how to crochet.  I used the journaling prompt from the Things I Love stamp set.......

I also used two of the Stitched Doily die cuts on these pages.....one under the corner of the picture on the first page and the second is cut in half and used under the edges of the pictures on the second pages....I also added a little bit of journaling to them telling about the pictures......

I hope that you are inspired to pull out a scrapbook page or SMASH album and start documenting things about yourself.  Hop on over to the My Creative Time blog to check out what the other designers have been Scrappin' about!!

Amy

Scrapping the Little Things with My Creative Time!

Today we are Scrapping the Little Things with smash book/project life over at My Creative Time and I have a quick smash book page to share with you.

I say quick because things have been crazy busy around here with summer in full swing and all kinds of summer activities and friends visiting from out of town.  I spend only about 30 minutes on this one and it was fun to create with some of the new stamps and dies from the latest release........

This quick layout is about an old worn out pair of Capri pants that were being retired and so I had to share a page about my old friends.....we have been through a whole lot together over the last 12 years.

I hope that you can hop on over to the My Creative Time blog to check out what Emma and the rest of the super creative design team have been working on to share with you.

Hugs,
Amy

Smash Book Page with My Creative Time

Happy Memorial Day!!  Today we are Scrapping the Little Things at My Creative Time.  I have created a smash book page to share with you about some of my simple pleasures in life.  These are the things that I go for to relax and sit back and enjoy life......simply!!
This really is a simple page compared to what I usually do with my Smash pages, but that is the theme I was going for.  ;)

I used the following products from My Creative Time on my project:

The papers and pink in are from Stampin' Up! and the black ink is Memento.

I hope that you are having a great day!!

Smash Page and SRM Stickers - Nature's Peace

Hi!!  Today I get to share a post on the SRM Stickers blog and I decided to do a Smash page with these fabulous SRM Stickers.  They are prefect for Smash books because the go on so quick and easy and make quite a statement on a page.  Can you spot the SRM Stickers on my page below??
Isn't this fun?!?  I used them for the title, the calendar, the live laugh love, as well as the stitches across the bottom edge of the brown paper. Nature's Peace is from the Express Yourself - Explore sticker sheet.
Here you can get a closer look at the Sticker Stitches.  I threw in a little bit of washi tape, too.  What?!?  I have accumulated all this washi because it is so yummy, I have to start using it somewhere.....LOL
This fun calendar is from the Mini Calendar stickers.  I also cut the trees with my Cricut Expression to help add some nature to the page.

Now, I am off to make some butter (for the first time) that I skimmed from the milk last night......wish me luck!!

Amy

Spring Smash Page

Hello!!  I am so very excited to see signs of spring around here.  Winter seems to have been around for too long and I am loving the warmer temperatures.  Today I have a Smash book page to share with you that celebrates SPRING!!
This page is for the Scrapping the Little Things over on My Creative Time.  I used a huge variety of Miss Emma's stamps and dies.  The floral background is stamped with the Spring Chicken Background stamp in purple.  The Lowercase Fun Dies are used for the "spring" and the Label Font is used for the "emerging".  I also used the Just Simply Live, Stitched Curly Label Die layered with the Curly Label Die, and the Stitched Doily die on this Smash page.
Hop on over to the My Creative Time blog to check out what Miss Emma has has to share and also what the other talented design team members created for their fun projects today.

Scrapping the Little Things with My Creative Time

It is another inspiring day over on the My Creative Time blog......today we are Scrapping the Little Things with Smash albums and Project Life.  I do have a Project Life kit, just haven't started it yet.  I love playing with my Smash book, although I think I use it more as an altered art/scrapbook album because I love to pull out my paint and just play with no rules.  Here is a fun little layout about me and my grandmother that I put in my Smash album to share with you today......
For this two page layout in my Smash album, I started by painting the pages with some light blue paint.  I added my photos and then drew some grass and stems.  I die cut some flowers with the Flower Petal Dies.   The clouds are also die cuts from the Fly Away With Me dies.  For my title, I used the Lower Case Fun dies and the Label Font stamp set (which I also used next to the flowers on the right page).  Here is a closer look......

I hope that you can hop on over to the My Creative Time blog and check out what the other designers have been creating.  I am sure there are lots of inspiring ideas while they are Scrapping the Little Things!!

Amy

Smash Book Post #2 - Scrapping the Little Things with MCT

Hey crafty friends!!  Welcome back as I share another smash book post.  If you missed my first one, click HERE.  I mentioned that I had a couple of smash books for a while and they were way too intimidating to me until Miss Emma at My Creative Time started the Scrapping the Little Things project posts.....so, I had to pull them out and get started with them.  Now that I am getting more comfortable with them, I think that I am really starting to love it.  I have decided to just use it as a life journal for me.  I will make art type of pages as well as stuff about me that my kids and grandkids will hopefully enjoy later.  Here is my page for today.....

I titled these pages "I am a MOM."  I used the camera stamp from the Camera Shy stamp set from My Creative Time along the middle of the pages and also for the "Smile" on the right picture.  I didn't stamp directly onto the photo, but on a piece of acrylic (think packaging) and then cut it out and secured it to the photo with a small paper clip.  Here is a shot of the acrylic piece over the left picture that is stamped with the Small Talk stamp set.......

I did it this way so that I wouldn't ruin the photo and have to reprint some more if I messed up.  Stamping on smooth surfaces like photos and acrylic isn't exactly easy since the wet ink makes the stamp more likely to slide on the smooth surface.  I used a Stazon ink pad for the stamping because that stuff really sticks to slick surfaces.......here is a pic of one of the stamped images I did........
See how the "i" and the heart are a little blured at the top.......it is because I don't have a super steady hand while stamping and so I had to make another one (or two or three) to get it right.  I then just cut down the acrylic and used it over my picture.

Here is a closer shot of the bottom of the other page.......

I used some white doilies and painted the edges with a red acrylic paint.  I thought they they came out really bright red, so I 'dulled' them down a little with some light brown ink.  I added some butterflies and pen details and journaling.  Tell me what you think......

You should hop on over to the My Creative Time blog to check out what the other designers are up to with their Scrapping the Little Things projects......I can't wait to see what they have all been up to myself.  ;)

Hugs,
Amy

Scrapping The Little Things with My Creative Time - Smash Album

Hello and welcome back!!  I can't believe that it is already the first week of September.....where did the summer go??  I know that I didn't get near as many things accomplished this summer as I was wanting to, hopefully I can get some of them done in the coming weeks before it gets too cold outside.

Today is the first day of another new segment at My Creative Time.  Emma has put out a wonderful stamp set that goes PERFECTLY with Smash albums as well as Project Life.  She also has some other great sets that work well with these, too.  I have to admit that I picked up a couple of smash albums a year or so ago and haven't used them yet, but because of this fun new segment with My Creative Time called Scrapping the Little Things, I had to pull it out and give it a try, so here you go.....my very first pages in my smash album:

I had soooo much fun pulling this all together.  I used some scraps and a few other little items that I just had lying around for this album.  I also used the Just Simply Live and All Around Everything Accessories stamp sets from the My Creative Time Shop.  Check out these close ups:

I had fun misting with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and adding some fun Washi Tape and rub-ons that I just has lying around.  I also tied a little bit of Orchid bakers twine from The Twinery onto the paper clips.  I can't wait to get in and create some more pages......I think I am HOOKED!!

These pages show some shots of my scrapping space.......I have some larger ones that I will share with you later this week.  I really ♥ my craft room!!  Now, hop on over to the My Creative Time blog to see what other design team members have created, too.

Amy
