When this song was out, I listened to it every morning getting ready for school...

I remember today 28 years ago like it happened yesterday. I told my parents the news. They were watching public tv and didn't get Old Walter with the breaking news.

Instant Karma and Working Class Hero are probably 2 of my favorite Lennon songs with or without the Beatles.

It still affects me today, his death. I have few true heroes in this world, but I rate him as one.

I think you read my Lennon story recently. I didn't even post about him today. One of the most tragic losses of our time....still hard to believe it happened, like it should have been a bad dream....

I remember this newscast as well and how shocking and senseless it seemed. I hope he knows, wherever he is, what an impact he made on the world.
Thanks for posting this, Starr.

Thanks all. I have to admit I cry like a baby every year when I do this post. Lennon was the writer of my lullabies and probably influenced a lot of my views on the world. Remember Mimi I said some times you have to raise a little hell to get a little peace? Lennon showed us all that.

I love Lennon and I like this song, but I really like "Gimme Some Truth". Elvis Costello reminds of him.

They both wrote (and write) in simplicity. I mean, what IS wrong with a little Peace, Love and Understanding? And it's true, "All You Need is Love". Cheers Hot Stuff!!

Matt you know I worship the ground that Declan aka Elvis walks on. He is so fucking amazing. My level of bitterness that Kidlet has seen him live and I have not is huge.

28 years...it doesn't seem that long, and yet it does.

I know, Trav. It freaked me out to think about it being that long ago. Because I remember so vividly.
