International Art and Soul - Vintage

This challenge is all about 'Vintage' so come and join us at International Art and Soul. I used an 8x8 card blank by Craft UK. The image is from Joanna Sheen's CD of Victorian Romance. I matted the image on to grey/beige patterned card which I bought from Payper Box a few years ago. The base mat is dark brown card from Papermill with a layer of the grey/beige card on top. A strip of beige lace, from the local market, was placed about two thirds up and a grey doily, from Craft Box, was placed more or less centrally on the lace. The image was then raised on pads and offset against the doily. Three organza lace backed flowers from Craft Box were added to the bottom right.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Crafty Girls Creations - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes

MAWTT Happy Birthday

It's almost the sixth birthday of Moving Along with the Times so we'd like to see lots of Happy Birthday cards.

This isn't a very good photograph as the sky was overcast and the white board behind the card looks blue. The birthday card itself is actually lilac though. lol

I've used a Joanna Sheen card blank and the pale lilac pearlescent card is by Payper Box. I matted the lilac card on to purple Mirri card and wrapped a length of lilac lace ribbon round the bottom. The purple frame in the middle is my new Portugese die by Sue Wilson. I coloured the pansy image with my Promarkers and cut it out, leaving a small white border round the edge. I offset it to the left of the frame and then added a Happy Birthday scroll that I've had for years. Three Mei Flower lilac gems were added to each of the top corners.

I'm sorry to say that after my first lot of injections my eyes aren't as good as I'd hoped. They are definitely better than they were but I'm still not able to read or watch TV. Every day they are open for most of the morning but then for the rest of the day that's it! :(

If I need to do shopping or visit my sister in her Care Home then I have to go in the morning so that I can see to drive. At least the improvement is lasting long enough for me to get to the Care Home and back. I have another two months to wait before my next set of injections and I'm wishing my life away by counting down the days.

The MAWTT cards are the only cards I'm making because I just can't keep my eyes open long enough to craft for any decent length of time. It also takes me ages to add the relevant post to my blog because I keep making mistakes and then have to go back. I'm a touch typist too so that doesn't bode well. lol

Inspiration Challenge 10

Here are my cards for the challenge number 10 at Inspiration Destination. The theme is Anything Goes and our sponsors this week are Dr Digi and Bugaboo.

My first card shows Metal Mick by Dr Digi.

I used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The red card is by Papermill and has a Payperbox music patterned paper matted on to it as the background to Metal Mick. He was coloured with my Promarkers and had some Stickles added to his red guitar. A Memory Box treble clef die is used top right. I used a Joanna Sheen Signature die bunting in the top left. However, I didn't leave it as bunting I cut four small rectangles in Papermill red card and then added the letters of the recipient's name in gold brads - I bought these from Create and Craft at least ten years ago!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
A Creative Romance Challenge - Something Old
Artbymiran Challenge - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz Challenge - Anything Goes
Delicious Doodles Challenge - Let's Face the Music
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes

My second card shows Stella Fitness Level from Bugaboo.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then after cutting it into a rectangle I matted it on to lime green and dark green card to match her sweat suit. lol I used the Couture Creations embossing folder called 'Tied Together' to emboss a sheet of white paper which I then matted on to the green card as before. The large card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I raised the matted image on foam pads and then added Mei Flower pearls to the background. The sentiment is by Inkadinkado and I heat embossed it before adding to the top right. Mei Flower gems were then added to the top left of the image and one was added to the sentiment.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Digitally Sweet Challenge - Anything Goes
TIME OUT Challenge - Embossing with optional twist of sparkle

OSAAT #200 - Use a Digi

I've used a small card blank from Craft UK for this week's card at One Stitch at a Time. The theme is Use a Digi and Shell chose the image for some of the DT to use this week. She chose Ike's image 'Fairy' which you can buy at Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut it out using one of the cheap dies I bought from Joanna Sheen a while ago. After colouring the wings I covered them with a Sakura stardust pen to give them a sheen. I typed Believe and cut that out with a Spellbinders die. The dusky pink card that I bought from Payper Box is embossed with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder of clouds. I know it looks quite orangey in this photo but it is dusky pink, I promise. I matted the dusky pink card on to some gold glitter paper from a Papermania pad. All I had to do then was add three small shiny gold stars that I've had for ages and ages and they came from Create and Craft.

Please check ou the OSAAT blog for details of the prizes.

Moving along with the Times - Card for a Female

It was Hazel's (Didos) turn to choose the theme for this week's challenge over at Moving along with the Times and she chose 'Card for a Female'. I always need loads of these throughout the year so it was good to get started.

I used a large Joanna Sheen card blank and then decided to use a Saturated Canary image that I've had for months and never used. I coloured her with my Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand nestie circle. I used pale green card from Papermill for the background and I embossed it with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder. I matted it on to dark green card from Payper Box to just give a fine darker edge. The pale pink border along the bottom is from another Spellbinders set of dies, Parisian Accents. The sentiment is, of course, from Lili of the Valley, stamped and matted on to Spellbinders circle nesties. I used a darker pink pearlescent card to cut out two swirls that come with a Tattered Lace Butterfly die.

Come over to MAWTT to see all the beautiful cards made by the rest of the design team.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

OSAAT #195 - Starting New

'Starting New' is the theme for this week over at One Stitch at a Time. That means it can be a card for any 'new' occasion, baby, birthday, anniversary or you could use a new technique or even a new craft item that you received at Christmas - the options are many so please come along and join us.

My image is called 'Butterfly Profile' and is by Alipeeps over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I coloured her with my Promarkers and added some Sakura glitter with touches of different colours on the wings of the butterflies. I cut the image with a Spellbinders label die and backed it with bronze Mirri board from Joanna Sheen. The backing paper is from Payper Box and that is also matted on to bronze Mirri board. I used my new Tattered Lace die of the butterfly and flourishes. I used handmade paper by Indus and it's called Brown Lotka. It was incredibly difficult to separate the image from the die and then to get it stuck on to the card was a feat in itself. Maybe next time I use the die I will use a heavier weight of paper or even card. The card blank is by Joanna Sheen.

Please check out the OSAAT challenge blog for details of the prizes on offer.

OSAAT #188 - Use a Digi

The theme this week over at One Stitch at a Time is Use a Digi. It was Josephine's turn to choose an image for herself, Shell and me to use and she chose Susan's 'Bear Guitar'. You can buy this image, by Sentimental Susan, at Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I've used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The turquoise card is by Papermill and the music paper is by Payper Box. I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders grand nestie. I gently touched the edges with Distress Ink. The musical interlude and treble clef are dies by Memory Box. I used two pieces of Card Candi in the two RH corners. I generated the sentiment on the computer and set it across the top LH corner. I've given the brown bear the name of Busker so I hope Susan doesn't mind! lol

Please check out the OSAAT blog for full details of the prizes, however, I can tell you that someone will win all the digital images used by the DT on challenge 186.

OSAAT #168 Use a Digi

Thank you all for continuing to visit me even though my posts are few and far between. I had a lovely two weeks staying with my son and daughter in law in Kent. I had my first house viewers earlier this week but, unfortunately, they have not put an offer in for my house. Keep your fingers crossed for more viewers please.

This week's theme over at One Stitch at a Time is 'Use a Digi'. I chose Two Kittens by Barb over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet. I used the image of the kitten stretching and there's another of the kitten sitting.

Please check the challenge blog for details of prizes.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the kitten with my Promarkers and then cut it, on an angle, with one of my new X Cut large dies. The black card is by Papermill and the grey patterned paper is by Payper Box. I added a black organza ribbon, from Joanna Sheen, across the bottom and then added some bling to the centre of the ribbon. The bling was from our very good friend Nataliya. All I had to do then was add some Card Candi to the top right and bottom left. After I'd 'finished' it I thought it needed something else so I made a little Happy Birthday sentiment in a bright red font and cut it with one of the tiny dies that I bought a few weeks ago from Joanna Sheen - cheap sets but I have no idea who makes them.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Scrap it Girl Challenge - Use your dies

OSAAT#160 - Use a Digi

Use a Digi is the theme for the challenge this week over at One Stitch at a Time. It was my turn to pick the image for my team mate Josephine and myself and I chose 'Oh, Boy' by Priyanka over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and then after trying various Spellbinder nesties I decided that they weren't going to work for the size of the boy I'd printed. I cut him out by hand, leaving a small border round him. My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. The red card is by Papermill. The blue card and the music patterned card are both by Payper Box. After making the mat I used the remainder of the blue card to emboss a music panel. I'm not 100% sure of this now but it's stuck so it will have to stay! I used a Memory Box die to cut the staves and then generated Happy Birthday on the computer. I cut it by hand and backed it on to red card.

The sponsor this week is Stitchybear and one lucky person is going to win all the images used by the DT on challenge 158. Check out the challenge blog for full details.

OSAAT #157 - Spring

Spring is the theme this week over at One Stitch at Time so please join us. I used the image Baby Gangstaz Toby by April of Reece's Scrap Pieces over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers before cutting with a Spellbinders grand nestie. I backed it with the larger size nestie in Papermill pale blue card. I love the backing paper which is sort of a greeny/grey check that I bought at a craft fair from Payper Box. I used Creative Expressions baker's twine to give some interest to the backing and then simply added a small Create and Craft 'dog' button. (Don't tell him but this card is for my son who breeds dogs.........................and he doesn't look a lot different from this Toby boy.) I generated the sentiment on the computer and cut it with Spellbinders dies. My card blank is by Joanna Sheen.

Check out the challenge blog for details of prizes.

OSAAT #152 - Use a Digi

A nice easy challenge for you this week - Use a Digi. Come along and join us at One Stitch at a Time challenge blog. The winner will be awarded all the digi images used by the DT in challenge 150, wow!!

My image this week is by Luke, over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop. It's called Adventure Boy, Floating and isn't he cute?

I used a small Craft UK card as the base. I coloured the image with Promarkers, cut it with a Spellbinders die and used Distress Ink on the edges before adding it to a backing paper of sky, printed from Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kinkade CD. This was matted on to yellow, orange and red card from Papermill - the mats matched the colours of the balloons which I'd cut with a Provo Craft die. The strings of the balloons were drawn in red  Sakura pen, I'm not sure it was a good idea but it's done now so can't be undone!! I generated the sentiment on the computer and cut it with another Spellbinders die, backing it with a red scalloped die cut. I like this card, even though I've just realised that I haven't highlighted the die cut balloons to give them some 'roundness'. Flip!

I'm entering the card into the following challenges:

The challenge this week at One Stitch at a Time is Use a Digi so come along and join us and check out the wonderful cards of all the other DT members. My DT buddy, Josephine, chose this image for us both to use and it's called Christmas Candles by Jess over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop

The sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen with a £10 voucher for her online store. Please check the OSAAT blog for details of the prize structure.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and added some Stickles to certain areas to give it some bling. After colouring was complete I cut it with a Spellbinders grand nestie and then edged it with Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade which, I hoped, gave it the glow of the candles. The image was then matted on to a piece of bright red, embossed card from Payper Box. It didn't need any further embellishment as this red card has a beautiful sheen to it. The card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and used Diamond Stickles on the centres of the flowers. I cut it by hand and set it on a cocktail pink shiny card from Payper Box. To keep the design simple I typed the word Thanks in dark red, cut it with a Spellbinders small label nestie, edged it with a red Promarker and set it across a dark red organza ribbon which is from Joanna Sheen. Whoopsi Daisy Lots of Layers

Thank you all for your kind wishes, my husband is home from hospital and is glad to be back in charge of the TV remote controls. He missed them when he was in hospital and didn't like their little screen!

Anyway, here is the first card I've made for a couple of weeks and it's for Whoopsi Daisy's Challenge of Lots of Layers. I used Sheet 346 for this image. She's a little cutie and you can buy her here.

I used a large scalloped card blank by Craft UK. The pink card is from Papermill and the turquoise pearlescent is from Payper Box. I rounded the corners on the pink card with my Carl corner rounder and the turquoise card was cut with a Spellbinders grand scalloped square nestie. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and after cutting with another Spellbinders nestie I coloured the edges with 'Peacock Feathers' Distress Ink. I set it against another two die cuts in pink and turquoise, the pink paper was a freebie in a magazine and the other was from Costco. The beautiful flowers are from Nataliya's Etsy shop and the ribbon is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop. Some Card Candi completed the design. I'm sorry that I'm not completely satisfied with this card but at least it's got me back into crafting.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

#121 Rainbow Vista

I want to apologise for being missing over the past week. We've changed internet service provider and had a few hiccups at first. Hopefully these are all resolved now. However, my husband is very poorly and so crafting time has been sidelined to some extent.

The theme for the challenge over at One Stitch at a Time is 'Sun' and I think my card is sunny! Maybe too sunny? The image I used is 'Rainbow Vista' by Claire of Hope Jacare over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop. I loved colouring this quirky image, I love Claire's designs full stop.

I used a card blank by Craft UK and the cream backing paper is by Papermill. The shiny yellow card is by Payper Box and all the other papers and card are by Papermill. I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut with the Spellbinders grand circle nestie before edging with Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade. I used various sizes in Spellbinders circle nesties for the background circles. Two of them are coloured with a flower pattern from a Creative Expressions Mask. To finish it off it only needed the 'You make me smile' sentiment from Lili of the Valley. I think we will all smile in the UK if we ever see the sun again this year. This digi image is perfect for this year's summer in the UK - rain, sun, rain, sun, rainbow and more rain!

The sponsor this week is Creative Craft - do check on the OSAAT challenge blog for the prize structure.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

Blue Mood

This is a card I've just finished off this morning, after starting it yesterday. I haven't posted any cards this week because of internet problems. My husband and I have both been poorly too so it's not been a good time in our house - it doesn't happen often but .................it wasn't a happy house!

Anyway, on to my card. I looked through my Saturated Canary digis and decided to use this freebie that Krista Smith posted on the blog a few weeks ago. This little girl looks as if she's having a party with her balloons but she needed some music to cheer her up after one of them burst. I used blue papers from the Capsule Collection by Docrafts. The white border is cut with a Spellbinders Parisian Motif die. I coloured the image with Promarkers and then cut it with one of the Spellbinders label dies. I used Sakura gelly roll pens to add glitter to the motifs on the slipper and the balloon string. The treble clef and music notes are Memory Box dies and I used them on blue pearlescent Payper Box card. The Dazzler buttons in the corners are by Creative Expressions. They are very blingy so I hope you can see that clearly when the card is enlarged.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

Saturated Canary - Bling it on!
I love Promarkers - Music
The Stamp Man Challenge - Bling it on
Dutch Dare Challenge - For a Child
Little Miss Muffet's Challenge - Sparkle

Thank you all for visiting. I appreciate all your comments and love to read them.

#119 Summer Dress

The theme is Summer Dress for this week's challenge over at One Stitch at a Time. You can choose to use fabric, summer colours or show us your interpretation of the theme. I chose Love Seat by Stitchy and loved colouring this beautiful image. You can buy the image at the Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store and whilst you're there you'll see lots more that you will need! lol

I used a Spellbinders grand circle nestie to cut a large square Craft UK card  into a circle. The green leaf backing paper is printed from a Joanna Sheen CD but I cannot remember which one! Oops, sorry. The purple pearlescent card is by Payper Box. I coloured the image with Promarkers and after cutting I used Distress Ink round the edge.  The wooden sun came from Create and Craft and that was coloured with Promarkers too. The embroidered flowers are from a pack of embroidery motifs that I bought in the USA about ten years ago. They suited the colours in this image perfectly and I think are just a perfect finishing touch.

The sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen and the prize is a £10 voucher for her online store.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
Lollipop Crafts - Flowers in Bloom
Love to Create - Summertime Fun
Bearly Mine - Flowers
