For Baby! DD #100

Good morning!  Its hump day and we are half way thru the week!  Today's card is for the final color challenge over at The Dynamic Duo's.   When I saw the colors, I immediately thought "Baby"!  I love the softness of so saffron and pool party together. The layout for my card came from a sketch I found on Pinterest.  It worked perfect since I wanted to keep this card simple with layers and details.
Card sketch...ideal for this "paper scraps can't be thrown away kind of a gal".... :o)

So here is what I came up with.  I started with a base color of smoky slate and layered with a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of white.  I am known for not throwing away anything.  Especially when it comes to DSP scraps.  I keep all my small pieces inside the pack for future uses.  This came in handy with this card.  I had some 1/2" strips left over from a previous project.  All I had to do was cut them down to the lengths I needed for this card to have them stagger.  The so saffron strips came from the I Am Me DSP pack.  The other strips are just solid pool party strips.  I stamped the giraffe from the Zoo Babies stamp set in so saffron and added a little gold bakers twine around his neck to make him look all cute and stuff!!  The perfect little touch was adding the pool party and so saffron candy dots.  These are the perfect little things since sliced bread and I do love bread!!!

All About Babies!

Good morning and welcome to Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration!  Today we are sharing with you projects related to "babies".  To be honest I don't have that many current baby stamp sets, but the one that I do, I love to use it.  Zoo babies is one of those sets that can be used for many different projects and great for boy, girl or both!  And that's what I've done.  I decided to create both a card for a boy and girl using the same set and design series paper.

I used the new in color ruffled ribbon cause I think it adds a great "baby" touch.  Even though I added the same cluster of banners, each is used with different colors.  I finished off each card with a cute designer button in the corner.

Zoo Babies with FMS #119

Holy Moly, am I glad its FRIDAY!  It is Friday right?  Please someone pinch me, just to make sure I'm not dreaming!  Its been one of those weeks and I'm ready for the weekend.

So here I am on a Friday night, sitting in McDonald's eating a late dinner and smooching off their free Wi-Fi!!  I will be so glad when we get Comcast next month at our home and I won't have to worry about running over or close to our max internet usage for the month.

Tonight's card is using the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. I decided to turn mine into a baby card using Zoo Babies.  I have only had this set for about two months and I had yet to use it.  I pulled it off the shelf and not only had I not stamped with it yet, but I hadn't even put it together!!  Geez, what is wrong with me?!

So anyway, here is the sketch and then my take on it.  I hope you enjoy!

Using the Zoo Babies set was so much fun.  I stamped the elephant in smoky slate then again in pistachio pudding.  I cut out his ear and layered it with a pop dot.  Added a small pearl for his eye and the cuteness is complete!
I kept the inside simple by just adding one of the corners that I cut off for the front layer.  I always like to recycle and reuse!
