Mosaic Madness with FMS136 & CTD292

Thanks for stopping by!  I don't know about you, but yesterday was a busy day.  It went by so fast, that I didn't really get in any paper crafting time....sign!  But I did find some time early this morning to put together my card for the fun sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches and to play with the great bold colors at Color Throwdown

Sometimes for me the idea of what to do can be tricky.  I mean the layout is taking care of, the colors to use is done for me, but picking out which stamp set or embellishments to use can be the stumper.  I "LOVE" all of my stamp sets and find it hard deciding on which one.  They are all calling my name...Pick me!  Pick me!

So I decided to play with Mosaic Madness and Label Love stamp sets.  I embossed with the mosaic folder in silver paper for my foreground layer.  The background layer is stamped with a few random mosaic tiles in silver ink.  To follow the sketch, I used old olive as a sub for the lucky limeade color and placed a 3/4" strip across the card.  I also used a piece of melon mambo dsp from the Quadrefancy DSP pack for the top banner.  The "happy birthday" is stamped in black.  I punched and cut a layer with the same artisan punch in melon mambo to place behind the stamped one.

For embellishments, I used a metal button tied with silver bakers twine.  I also wrapped around the old olive and whisper white background, a piece of silver 1/8" ribbon.  I also added two candy dots to the upper and lower stamped mosaic title.

As always, with me, you get to see the inside as well.  The inside never has a lot of layers or details, because I want to leave plenty of room for your hand written message, but its still an important part of the card.

Core'dination Birthay April Card Sketch w/ SSINKspiration

Good Monday morning!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I had a wonderful weekend.  I had a few ladies over for an all day crop here at my house. We played games, ate wonderful food and treats, talked and just lots of fun making paper crafts all day! I was sad when it was time for them to leave.  Today we are sharing a new card sketch for April.  I can't wait to see what you do with it!

I had bought the core'dination pack in the newest set of in colors.  Of course I hadn't tried it out yet, but once that sanding block hit that paper for the first time, I was hooked.  I had so much fun sanding and see the results right in front of me!  I first embossed my three strips with the alphabet press folder, then I used the sanding block to sand off a little on top the letters til I started to see the white come thru.  The other detail I like about this card, is the banner I have going across the front.  I used the artisan punch, folded them in half over gold bakers twine and attached with foam dots.  I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from the label of love set and placed it in the center.

The inside is simple with another short banner created using only two punches.

Triangle Play with FM148

Happy, happy weekend! After my long run on this beautiful day, I headed to my craft room to play with my toys!!  I have been wanting to join in the fun challenge with The Friday Mashup, but didn't quite know what I wanted to do.  I knew I wanted to do a kinda quilt pattern, so after looking around, I found a pattern that worked!

I wanted it to bright and cheerful so I used colors of pacific point, tangerine tango and so saffron.  I stamped and punched out several triangles and got to work playing around and arranging my pattern to fit my white card base layer. I wanted blue in the middle so it was a perfect space to put my stamped sentiment.  The Label Love set worked perfectly!!!

I added some stamped triangles to the inside, and was done!  I will add my birthday greeting later.

Don't forget to head over to The Friday Mashup to see the rules and how you can join in the fun!

A Retro Fresh Birthday!

http://www.ssinkspiration.blogspot.com/

Good morning bloggers and thanks for joining me with Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration!  Today we are sharing "Birthday" cards.  This card is one I made for one of my SSINK design team friends.  Hopefully she gets it before this blog post goes live.  If not, "Happy Birthday" Kathy Peck!!!

I was so excited about this card, that I almost didn't even send it.  That's awful I know!!  I have used 5 new items with this card...can you guess which 5 they are?  Check out the supply list at the end of this post to see which five they are!  One of the main reasons I love this card, is that it has banners in it.  Banners seem to be the thing that's in right now.  I know, I know, it doesn't take much to get me excited!!  You know its the little things that matter in life anyway!!

I always try to decorate the inside of my cards too.  Even though I don't always take a picture and show, but this is something I want to work on and show more of.  The inside should be just as nice as the outside, don't you agree?

Again, thanks for stopping by, leave me some "love" and don't forget to head over to the main blog for SSINKspiration to see the other design team members "birthday" creations.  I'm sure it will INKspire you to go create something too!
