Darkness Falls Across The Land
The Midnite Hour Is Close At Hand
Creatures Crawl In Search Of Blood
To Terrorize Y’awl’s Neighbourhood
And Whosoever Shall Be Found
Without The Soul For Getting Down
Must Stand And Face The Hounds Of Hell
And Rot Inside A Corpse’s Shell
The Foulest Stench Is In The Air
The Funk Of Forty Thousand Years
And Grizzy Ghouls From Every Tomb
Are Closing In To Seal Your Doom
And Though You Fight To Stay Alive
Your Body Starts To Shiver
For No Mere Mortal Can Resist
The Evil Of The Thriller

My candle was nearly burnt out, when, by the glimmer of the half-extinguished light, I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open... -Mary Shelley, Frankenstein

Each year, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch that he thinks is the most sincere. He's gotta pick this one. He's got to. I don't see how a pumpkin patch can be more sincere than this one. You can look around and there's not a sign of hypocrisy. Nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see.

- Linus from "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" by Charles M. Schulz.

'Tis the night - the night
Of the grave's delight,
And the warlocks are at their play;
Ye think that without
The wild winds shout,
But no, it is they - it is they.
Arthur Cleveland Coxe

Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
Contagion to this world.

You wouldn't believe
On All Hallow Eve
What lots of fun we can make,
With apples to bob,
And nuts on the hob,
And a ring-and-thimble cake.

What fearful shapes and shadows beset his path, amidst the dim and ghastly glare of a snowy night! With what wistful look did he eye every trembling ray of light streaming across the waste fields from some distant window! How often was he appalled by some shrub covered with snow, which, like a sheeted spectre, beset his very path! How often did he shrink with curdling awe at the sound of his own steps on the frosty crust beneath his feet; and dread to look over his shoulder, lest he should behold some uncouth being tramping close behind him! and how often was he thrown into complete dismay by some rushing blast, howling among the trees, in the idea that it was the Galloping Hessian on one of his nightly scourings!
Washington Irving
From 'The Legend of Sleep Hollow'.

The Witches Tea. What's brewing?
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
William Shakespeare
Witches in Macbeth.

The Roseboro Hotel on the main road through Sharon Springs.

Waiting in line to meet Josh and  Dr. Brent
for autographs and pictures.

Josh and Dr.Brent. The Beekman Boys.

The lady who runs this store makes the soap that is sold at
The Beekman 1802 Mercantile.

Honeycomb soaps. I bought 4 of these for Christmas gifts.
Shh, don't tell.

Poster for the Beekman Boys show on the Planet Green, autographed and hanging in the soap shop.

The American Hotel in Sharon Springs, NY.
Owned by Garth and Doug friends of Josh and Dr. Brent.
I so want to spend the weekend here.

The festival and the town was a lot of fun.
Meeting Dr. Brent was fabulous.
We then drove a few miles out of town to find the Beekman House.

History of the Beekman Mansion.

The Beekman House.
This is as close as we could get.

The farm wasn't open for tours that day.

The barn that houses the goats and the llama Polka Spot.

Farmer John's house.
The caretaker and keeper of the goats.

Farmer John's cat.

This is the only view I could get of the big porch.
I hope to someday be able to tour the house.
Hope you enjoyed my trip to the Harvest Fest
at Sharon Springs, NY.
If you want to see more pictures of my trip with Tami  go to
