a nice surprise

Today I had a nice surprise from my very nice husband - a trip to the Sherwood Inn for dinner and a little antique shopping.

I bought this wooden box with shelves that I filled with some of my sewing collection.

I also bought this scarf made in Scotland with 70% mohair and 30% wool. Buying this scarf was a good thing. The day started out warm but then started to rain and got colder. I needed that scarf to keep my neck warm and it worked.

Going to the Sherwood Inn is one of my favorite things to do. The Sherwood Inn is located in Skaneateles, NY. The inn was built as a stagecoach stop in 1807. We got to the inn just in time to see the second half of the Syracuse University/Marquette basketball game. Our team was ahead in points through out most of the game until the last few minutes when Marquette pulled ahead and gave us a scare. Our team rallied and tied the game within the last few seconds and then won the game in overtime. Everyone in the bar was cheering with each point scored. It was a lot of fun and a good ending to a nice surprise.
