Today is a big day at Pixie Dust Paperie, not only we have a brand new Pixie Challenge, we are excited to have our very first Pixie Challenge Design Team!!!!

To join our Pixie family, 10 talented crafters from different part of the world, I will start by introducing the first 3 (not in any particular order)

from United Kingdom.............

Ros Crawford

Hi I'm Ros Crawford from Liverpool in UK.... and I am so excited to be working with the rest of the girls here at Pixie Dust Paperie! I have always loved making things... creating makes me happy.... and I share this love, teaching a group of mentally and physically challenged people once a week at "Thursday Club." My best creation is and always will be my son Mike, hence my blog name of "Mikeysmom" and in the short time that I have been blogging..... I have made so many friends and been inspired by so many of you who share my passion for creativity.

Ros's project for Pixie January Challenge, Ros used the paper from Pixie November Kit "Snow Shoe", we have only a couple left at The Pixie Shop, get it before it is too late

from Russia.....

Evgenia

I'm Evgenia from Moscow, Russia. First I want to thank Kirsty for choosing me in your team. I'm really happy to join you. I started scrapbooking one year ago when my daughter was born and couldn't stop since then. I like to make altered projects and albums for my friends. My favorite styles are shabby and vintage. Recently I tried sewing and like it so much. Here are 2 hearts which I sewed for Pixie January Challenge. And I hope to inspire you more in the future.
Hugs.... Joy_L

Here's Evgenia's lovely hearts project for Pixie January Challenge "Love Notes"

and from USA.......

Linda Breedlove

I'm a retired graphic designer who has worked in the craft and hobby industry for my entire life, growing up in a family owned business. My husband, aka The Penmaker, and I love traveling and are always on the lookout for a new scrapbook or woodworking shop. We have four children and six grandchildren with another on the way.

This is Linda's project for Pixie January Challenge, she used the paper from Pixie October Kit "Blue Moon", and look at those adorable pins with hearts, aren't they lovely?

christmas… by Lynn Millers

today, I’ve used 3 different papers and a ribbon from in the “christmas in paris” kit.  the burgundy paper was embossed with a hounds tooth pattern and scallop punched.  and green cardstock was die cut  with a stocking die.   the cute echo park paper was ruffled and topped with some pretty ribbon.

and I used some of the scraps to make a 4” x 4” gift box.

this kit has non-christmas goodies, too, and I’ll show some non-christmas projects soon.
thanks so much for looking:)

Kirsty's Note -
That is beautiful and elegant, thanks Lynn!!!

Designer Day 2 ~ "magnetic personality" gift set by lauren bergold

would you believe: my mom tried to *STEAL* this project!!!

ok, i'm exaggerating; my mother is a scrupulously honest woman and would never take anything which didn't belong to her; but when she saw this particular pixie dust project, made with august's admittedly ♥fabulous♥ PICNIC BASKET kit, she made it very clear that she would not be displeased if it were ultimately intended for her. she even went so far as to remind me that her birthday is in september! :)

it has to be said, the mix of paper and embellies here *IS* completely crave-able! girls' paperie, cosmo cricket, american crafts, october afternoon, pink paislee... what's not to like, right? i used them to decorate this cute little tin, inside and out. but wait, there's a surprise:

yes, the tin--which originally contained paper flowers--holds a little gift set: a sweet minature card and half a dozen paperdoll-inspired magnets!

the card has a mix of cosmo cricket papers, including the little vintage girl, who, like her magnetic sisters and brother, was cut from the "trinkets" paper. the sentiment is made up of october afternoon "seaside" alphas and a girls' paperie word sticker leftover from last month's MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM kit, placed on a cosmo tag.

i used the magnet cartridge in my xyron machine to simultaneously affix thin flexible magnet stock to the back of the paper and lamination to the front, then i cut carefully around each little figure. if you don't have an adhesive machine you can purchase sheets of similar material from the office supply store, or even just attach self-adhesive magnet strips from the craft store to the back of each doll.

i used fast grab tacky glue to permanently affix all of the different papers to the front, back, sides and inner surfaces of the tin. as always, i cut my pieces very slightly smaller than each plane to which i was attaching them, and inked around the edges. since i know that i will NEVER achieve perfection on a project like this, i like to take the pressure off by making any little mistakes look intentional!!! :)

finally i attached one last pretty paper doll to the top of the box, affixed a cosmo cricket sentiment sticker, and added an american crafts butterfly adorned with a girls' paperie mini cameo. and now i think i better give this to my mom, lest she turn to a life of crime, lol! :)

Kirsty's Note -
WOW, this is BRILLIANT!!! You best project ever!!!! Thanks Pixie Lauren!!!!
