Restraint, Confinement Still an Everyday Mental Health Practice

www.patientcareproduct.com So you're working on a story in which a character, perhaps even your protagonist, ends up in a mental hospital or clinic.  The question is, do these facilities still use straightjackets and other physical restraints?  Do they still put people into "padded rooms"?  Do they use medications to control out-of-control patients like your character? Your character may only be in there to keep them out of the way.  They may or may not have any type of disorder that requires hospitalization.  In fact, they may even be normal, whatever that is.
