About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Anything Winter for Allsorts

 Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is on for 2 weeks over the Christmas period.

Lolo has chosen the theme of

Anything Winter.

When my John gets his meds from the Farmacia, they pack them in a small paper carrier bag, so I save them all and decorate them for my Craft Club ladies Christmas gifts.

This is both sides of how they are originally

Here are 3 I have decorated.
I printed some digital pages from a kit and glued ribbon across the top.
All the ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons in UK.

Ruth Hamilton is sponsoring us and giving a winner 3 digis.
I made this card using her....Gnome

Brenda is giving these as another  Prize

Tonic Autumn Dream die set and Bee Crafty BEAUtanicals Wildflower 3

This challenge will run for 2 weeks over the Christmas period, have fun.

I used a Spellbinders Frame die for this side.

Then for the reverse I used a Memory Box- I was going to get rid of these dies they they worked out well for doing these paperclips.

I used the Spellbinders Ribbon  Tag die for these which I have used before.
I decorated with ribbon flowers and bows that I have made and bits of seam binding and lace.

Crafty Ribbons

Good Morning All

Crafty Ribbons Design Team for me again and here are more gifts bags I decorated for my gifts.
This selection feature some Advent Ribbon from the store Here.
I cut it up into individual pieces and stuck down with material washi tape.
I then stamped snowflakes and Christmas trees on front and back.
I will add a homemade tag to each bag.

These two are using a couple of recycled Christmas cards from last year.
The ribbon available here

Christmas Gifts for Allsorts

Good Morning All

It is my turn to host the Allsorts Challenge and I chose a theme of

Christmas Gifts.
I altered some plain Brown carrier bags for all my gifts this year, as I did last year too,
instead of using non recyclable  paper.

I have more of these to show you next week for Crafty Ribbons DT.

These are also a great way of recycling last years Christmas cards as I have used  on some.
Some are 12 x 12 paper that I have had for years and not known what to do with as they had 4 images on, so I cut them up and used them too.
Random stamping of snowflakes and Christmas trees, ribbon added across the top and tied odd embellishments to it.

I had great fun doing these and I used quite afew bits that I have had in my Christmas box for years.

Prize on offer
Christmas Cracker Kits from Stix 2

Altered Paperclips

Good Morning All

As some of you may know, I am a member of a shabby chic swap group on Facebook.
A little while ago I entered one  for Altered Paperclips.

I decided to make a little Shabby chic fabric book for them to go in which could be used later to store Stick Pins.
This is the front all edged with lace trim.
With a ribbon closure.

I think I made 4 pages for the inside from felt and clipped the paperclips to the edges.

I enclosed some of my dangle charms too

And this is the back cover where I tucked some lace for my swap partner to do with what they wish.

I do enjoy making things like this.

Paperclip Swap

Good Morning All

I do like to enter swaps on Scrimpys Facebook page.
I do have to limit them as postage costs soon mount up.

This one was to make 5 Shabby Chic Paperclips.
I made a book for them to display in.
I used a cereal box to make the book.
This is the front

 This is the back

And this is the inside with the paperclips added to slides of card.

I added afew dangle charms too.
I hope my swap partner likes it when it arrives.

Dont forget that Crafty Ribbons has a massive launch of their Unicorn Ribbon this week on Facebook
and their Inspiration blog with details of how to win a gorgeous ribbon bundle.

Feathered Friends for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is
Feathered Friends hosted by Ellie.
Although my feathered friend is more flowery than feathery!!!!!

I went for something abit different, an altered coat hanger.

My sister gave me this ages ago and it was just plain wood.
So I covered it with decoupage paper attached with Mod Podge to give it a sheen.

Then I went delving into my stash to see what pretty things I could decorate it with.
I,m sure the three items across the top, I have acquired through swaps.
The gorgeous lace across the bottom I have bought.
I am going to get this put up on the wall in the hall.

Prize this week.

Shabby Chic Photo Album

Good Morning All
This posted by mistake the other day but here it is again.

I bought this album from the charity shop and it looked fairly new.

And here is what it looks like now, after I got my glue gun out and my laces and doilies.!!!!
I padded it with wadding, then covered it with white cloth from a quilt cover
Then a lace tray cloth and a toning doily.

This is the spine with a dangle charm and a tassle.
I used seam binding as a book mark and to tie the dangle charm to.

This is the back

I found a Peacock brooch in my stash which I was gifted in a swap I think.

Inside the front and back covers I added a sheet of felt.
On the front one  I left a pocket from the tray cloth.

Very happy witth this and I hope it sells at the craft Fayre on Sunday
