Fave Colour Combo for Creative Craft Cottage

Good Morning All

Creative Craft Cottage Challenge this time is to show your favourite colour combination.

Now this is quite hard as I have so many, pink and black, pink and lilac, brown and beige, brown and blue etc etc etc.

I coloured this sweet image from Lacy Sunshine, our sponsor, their digis are so cute.

I dont know why but I wanted to colour it in yellows and oranges, not usually my colours but heyho there we go.

I chose a card blank that I bought at the Ellesmere Port craft show when I visited with my sister last December.  I had to hand cut some matts for it.  Once again all bits from my stash, when I make flowers I tend to make quite afew of them and store them in mini drawers, so that is where the big flower came from.

House of Cards - Texture and Colour

Rueda de Tapas

Good Morning All

By the time this goes live I shall probably be feeling abit the worse for wear, why ----

Here in our village, this weekend is Rueda de Tapas which means  Wheel of Tapas.

This starts on Friday through until Sunday, and each bar in the village has 2 or 3 tapas each of the days, you tour around as many bars as you can and have a tapa and a wine, beer or soft drink, and you get a stamp on a card, then you vote for your fave tapas bar at the end of the weekend!!!!

That's if you are still standing !!!!!

Back to crafting.  I borrowed this die from a friend at our craft meet and when I cut it, I did wonder what to do with it.

Still busy making loads of Christmas cards for the charities I support here, and making my own too.

Fairy Enough for MAWTT

Good Morning All

A definite change in the weather this week, I had to get a cardi out on Monday !!!!
 The wind was quite chilly.

A night out for me tonight with the girlies and Gary, we are going to a drag night at a local bar and 'Shirley Bassey' take off so should be a good night.

I used a die cut decoupage mounted onto Spellbinders Ornate Square, inked on the edges.  The tag from the same die set with a tiny envelope and card.  The backing paper has fairies on too.

Christmas card for Noah & Aurora

Good Morning All

Well by the time this goes out I shall be taking Mum to airport for her flight home, I think she has enjoyed herself even though she has had a bad cough.  At 90 years old though, she does very well, cant walk very far but OK.

I have got into the swing of Christmas and this is the card I have made for my Grandson and Granddaughter (my eldest sons children).
I,m trying to get all mine made and then I can get them written ready to take with me when I go to UK in December to post and give out.

I have made a box card again.  The 25th die is one from a friend at our craft meet.

I added lots of bits that were in my Christmas box, tags, snowflakes, sentiments etc.


I was given these cute bags, they are about 2cm tall, but so sweet.
I thought I would fold some money and put it inside for Mum & Dad to spend on the kids.  I buy little bits for them but they have loads of toys so I tend not to buy anything like that for them.

Pick A Tune for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All

Team 1 time on Crafty Friends Challenge and the theme is Pick a Tune based on a song.

I went really old fashioned
'Congratulations' by Cliff Richard.

I used this gorgeous image from the sponsor All Dressed Up.
Coloured with Promarkers and cut out with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis  Square.  Then use Sue Wilson Gemini Cygnus die in Centura Pearl card for the base over pink card.
I added a 'Good Luck ' acetate sentiment and surrounded by paper roses.
A ribbon bow with a bead decoration to finish it off.
I,m really pleased how this one turned out, I think it's the Sue Wilson die that does it.

Numbers at Allsorts

Good Morning All

It is my turn to host the challenge at Allsorts this week. 

I would like to see NUMBERS on your creations, so that leaves a wide choice for you.

I made a selection of A6 cards with various numbers on for Birthdays.




This is the one on the Allsorts challenge blog using Marianne Butterfly die  CR1205.  This is one of the first dies I ever owned, I won it on a blog candy I think.



All very simple, using stuff from my stash that I have had for a long time.

Julias Patchwork

Good Morning All

Abit late this morning as I forgot to do this post last night and just realised.

I watched Julias first show  on Hochanda the other night and loved this technique but cant remember what she called it, I used bits of scrap paper.

All the flowers and leaves are bits lying around, and needed to be used up.

Good Morning All

This is a book fold I completed a while ago.

The pattern was bought from Etsy, Patterns for Pages HERE, the owner is very helpful and will make a custom pattern for you.  She made 'Hollie' for me which I am going to fold when I go back to UK in December, and  I will  leave it there for her to put in her bedroom. 

I am very pleased with how this one turned out, a lovely fold and I am happy with the decorating too.

This has just been taken off my hands and gone to a good home.

I love making the flowers from pages I have to remove from some books, nothing goes to waste in this house !!!!!

Anything Goes for Creative Craft Cottage

Good Morning All

Creative Craft Cottage this time is nice and easy Anything Goes.

I used this cute digi from the sponsor, Rick St Dennis

I coloured it with Promarkers, cut out with Spellbinders scalloped circle die and mounted that onto a base card with Sue Wilson mini snowflake striplet cut in silver mirri card.
My Christmas box is out of storage now so Christmas cards here I come !!!!
Need about 2oo for the charities and about 30 for me.

Tagul Word Art

Good Morning All

I just had to show you this card I made yesterday using this site HERE

I found this site  from Facebook, one of the groups I follow on there.  You choose  your words, the font, the colour and the shape then print it or save it to your account for future use.

I will be making afew Christmas cards using this as one shape you can use is a Christmas tree.

The first word you type in will be the biggest word on your creation.

It's a fab tool to work with but I have to get to grips with the colours yet

Sparkle for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts challenge this week is hosted by Tracy Mouse

and it is a typical girly one 'Sparkle'.

I used a LOTV Topper, recycled a sparkly scalloped circle from another card and cut it up to edge the main image.

Added some sparkle to afew roses, sentiment tags and a bead pin with a string bow and a gem.

Hat & Scarf for MAWTT

Good Morning All

We had a really good turnout of entries on last fortnights challenge at MAWTT, great.

Janice is hosting this fortnights challenge at Moving Along With The Times and she would like to see Hats & Scarves (must be wearing both).

I used a sweet decoupage from Crafters Companion called Paintbox Poppets.  There are lots of tiny pieces but it is diecut so that makes it alot easier.

The two papers I have used are some of the first I  ever bought!!!!!!! 

So they must be 9 or 10 years old.

I added a crochet heart and a Teddy charm.

Cupcake Flowers

Good Morning All

Still feeling abit down after Hollie going home but we have MIL here and my Mum arrives n Saturday, so keeping busy.

Back into my craft room and trying to get it tidy and clearing alot of stuff.  Using alot  on my cards too, all odd bits and bobs.

I got this idea from a You Tube video HERE.

Quite easy, and I inked the edges and spritzed with water to try and make the ink run abit.

I will use these to decorate my book folds.

Good Morning All

Having withdrawal symptoms from Hollie, such a fab week.  She is such a character, so much fun.  Counting the weeks now until 30th November when I get on the plane to UK to see all the family.

Animals for MAWTT

Good Morning All

If you are a follower of  Moving Along With The Times Challenge
you will know that Hazel has finished as Team Leader, other things in life taking over, as they do.
  I and the other DT members did not want the challenge to finish, so I decided to step into the breach.  I have been running it through the Summer, but today is the first of our regular fortnightly challenges.
So todays challenge is hosted by me for Team B,
 (as we now have two teams running every fortnight).

I would like to see an animal on your creation, the cuter the better.

I used this cute Humphrey decoupage from Crafters Companion, scraps of paper and card from my box, quilled flowers and two types of ribbon.

Mad for Embellishing

Good Morning All

Ladybug Crafts challenge this month was 'Mad for Embellishing', But Sarah seems to  have gone AWOL, but I will post this anyway

I added butterflies, the pink ones from Mei Flower, the silver ones punched from Dufex.  Parchment flowers with gem centres and a homemade sentiment tag with twine, and finally some square gems in the corner.  The big flower in the centre is a cut out one that I have had in stash for years !!!
