Stamp with fun

Sunday, 4 October 2009

I was asked to make a wedding anniversary card this week and for some reason I hate making anniversary cards! It's almost as bad as male cards to me! Must be because there's a man involved!!

So, I liked the sketch over at Stamp with fun so decided to go with it.

Here's my card

Photobucket

I flipped the sketch as I thought it worked better with my image.

Photobucket

Papers are Basic Grey "Sugared". The stamp is a digi stamp from Charmed cards and crafts and I coloured her with my propmarkers.

Photobucket

I coloured her wings at the base and tips with a light pink pm and then blended the colour out and then went over the whole wing with a clear stardust pen - I love those pens!

I didn't take a picture of the inside as it was quite plain.

I hope you liked it - thanks for dropping by!

Get well soon

Thursday, 24 September 2009

I had the need for 2 get well soon cards, with little time to make them so I decided to make them both the same. They were for my friend who recently had an operation and my mum who had lazer surgery on her eyes for the second time after the procedure didn't work properly the first time.

I followed the sketch at The Pink Elephant

Photobucket

And here is my card

Photobucket

The image is Magan from Whipper Snapper coloured with my promarkers

Photobucket

Papers are from the bloom and grow set from My Mind's Eye.

The first one has been delivered and hopefully the other one will be delivered tomorrow evening.

I hope you liked it - thanks for dropping by.

Just Magnolia

Thursday, 10 September 2009

The second card I made for my cousin is a little nicer!
I followed the gorgeous sketch by Mina at Just Magnolia...

Photobucket

Here is my card

Photobucket

I just love colouring Magnolia stamps! Again, I used my promarkers..

Photobucket

I made some flowers using 2 punches and a nestie and the same paper as the background. Sentiments were computer generated, and the Happy Birthday was then punched out with my tab punch from Stampin' Up!. Charm, brads and bits are all from stash. I can't remember who the paper was by - I'll check when I'm at my craft desk later (rather than my work desk now!)

Thanks for dropping by!

A challenge card!

Monday, 17 August 2009

Here's the first challenge card I've made in ages! I felt I had to join this challenge for "week 1" as I'm such a fan of Basic Grey.

So the challenge this fortnight at Basic Grey Challenge is a fab sketch from Tara G:

Photobucket

And here's my card:

Photobucket

This cutie is from Whipper Snapper and I coloured her with my promarkers

Photobucket

The papers are from Basic Grey (I can't remember which set - I'll have to look it up later and I'll add it then) and ribbon, charm and swarovski crystals are from my stash. I glittered around the edge of the image mount, and cut out a heart with my cuttlebug die.

Photobucket

This is the inside:

Photobucket

I used the inside bit of the heart from the front (and another one) and glittered the whole thing and with the other one, I coloured it with a clear stardust pen and then coated it with glossy accents (I think that's the right one!) The wording was all adapted to suit how the cutsie wee girl would say it! ie, "Happy Birfday!"

Thanks for dropping by!

HUGE APOLOGIES!!!

Thursday, 13 August 2009

Hi all!

Firstly, can I just say how sorry I am that's it's been soooo long since I've posted on my blog.
I have to say, that after my friends wedding, I didn't make a card for a month! It was a well deserved break though, as life was so hectic before that - not that's really any less hectic now!
Also, I was injured a couple of weeks ago at a concert when I was struck on the head by a flying man.... long story! I'm still recovering from that but I had intended on blogging sooner only for that.
So to get back into it, I have a few cards lined up, but I'll do the wedding one I promised (even though it's now old!)

I think I did follow some challenges for it, but they're long passed and I haven't a clue which ones they were.

This is the card:

Photobucket

The image is a digital download - I think it's from Bee Crafty - but I'll have to check.

Photobucket

This is the flower I made and the charm is from my stash - I made the beads using swarovski crystals:

Photobucket

And a close up of the decoration on the ribbon:

Photobucket

This is the personalisation:

Photobucket

And finally the inside, I added a pocket too for putting money into:

Photobucket

Hopefully it'll not be just as long til I'm back!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Ooops... Forgot about this one!!

Photobucket

I can't believe I forgot about this card! It was my mum & dad's 35th wedding anniversary last week.

Here's my card

Photobucket

I've checked and it fits 3 challenges!
Colour Create are looking for pistachio green, aqua and powder pink - that's my 3 main colours!
My Time To Craft's challenge this week is "In the garden" - lots of flowers on my card in the DP and the embellishment.
And One Stop Craft Challenge are looking for numbers on our creations, and as 35 years of marriage is a bit of a milestone, I put some numbers on there!
I didn't use a sketch for it and just came up with the layout myself (which was a challenge in itself!!)

Photobucket

The stamp is another Leanne Ellis lovely from Sugar Nellie - love these babies! Coloured with my old faithful promarkers.
I ran the bits through my cuttlebug using 2 different embossing folders. The flowers are from my local craft shop.

Here's the inside

Photobucket

copied from the front. You can see the different embossing better here as the flower is covering a bit on the front!

I hope you liked it. Thanks for dropping by!

Another one for Laura!

Tuesday, 16 June 2009

Photobucket

Here's the second card I made for Laura for her 18th, this one is a little more funkier I think!

I followed the sketch over at The Sugar Bowl - and a fantastic sketch it is!

Photobucket

Here's my card

Photobucket

The papers I used on this card are actually wrapping paper! It's from paper chase and I thought they were really full of attitude! You couldn't get away with the shiny paper on most cards but I think this is OK.

Photobucket

To add yet more funk I used this gorjuss girl and coloured her with my pro-markers - I loved doing the different colour for her hair! I added a bit of glitz by highlighting skull and crossbones in her hair with clear sakura stardust.

I made the flower with lots of layers cut with my flowers nesties and a flower punch.

Here's the inside

Photobucket

Again I used wrapping paper - that same one that I used to make the flower on the front.
I love this glitter paper too - it's completely smooth to touch and has a sticky side so you just need to peel off the backing and it's stunning!!

I hope you liked it, thanks for looking!

Strawberries... yum!!

Photobucket

I made this card following the scrummy sketch at Sketch and Stash

Photobucket

And this is my card:

Photobucket

My new stash??? Most of it really!! The papers are from my new K&Co book Que Sera sera - scrummy papers! I also cut the image out with my new peony nesties. Ribbon and crystals from stash.

I also used my equally scrummy new Whiff of Joy stamp! Coloured with my pro-markers.

Photobucket

This is the inside:

Photobucket

Fairly plain but following the sketch again.

It also fits the challenge set this week at A Spoon Full of Sugar, who are looking for lace or (as in my case) a lace effect punch!

I'm giving this card to my friend who had her birthday during the week - yes I know it's late, but I was on my way to her house and discovered she wasn't there so had to turn and come back! So it's her own fault it's late! That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome Baby Jack!

Friday, 15 May 2009

Photobucket

A card here for a new baby and I've used the gorgeous Ellie Stamp from Stamposaurus again - this time in blue!

I followed the sketch from Crafts 4 eternity:

Photobucket

And this is my card:

Photobucket

I used papers from DCWV's Nana's kids stack. I added a little pram charm to the corner of the image. Ellie was coloured with my pro-markers.

Photobucket

I had forgotten to put the highlights on to my colouring before I took the photo but they were added before the card was delivered!

Here's the inside:

Photobucket

Again, semi following the sketch.

The blue and green means that my card is also eligible for the Colour Create challenge. I love being able to fit a few challenges into one card - it sort of creates another challenge in itself!

I hope the weather is brighter where you are - here in Northern Ireland the week started beautifully but has gone back downhill again with dreary rain and it's so dull! Not good for us crafters who like a bit of natural light. Oh well, not much you can do about the weather!

I hope you all have a nice day and that you have something nice planned for the weekend!

Bye for now!
