Saturday, we took a trip looking for rusty stuff for the loft apartment. Trade days were going on outside McKinney but we decided it was way too hot. We decided to check out downtown instead.
Unlike downtown in most Texas towns, this was a bustling place on a Saturday. Perhaps we will find some treasures today.
Not really a crafty girl, I did enjoy the curtains in the restroom. Sorry my flash was not working. Basically, guaze-ey material tied up to a rod with ribbon and old keys. That is an old water pump in the middle.
Thanks to CreeksideRummager I am on an eternal quest of old mattress springs. These springs are from an old baby bed. I do like the "framing".
These springs are from an old chair. Maybe next time.
Remember temperatures are running in the 100+ daily here. Each corner of the downtown square has these magnificent planters. They actually look like they are happy.
One of my big or I should say heavy purchases was this piece of iron. The white piece above it is a hanging bracket I picked up at Ikea. They were out of the brown version.
Break in the action. Side trip to the south to get medicine from my vet. No, I have not found a vet closer. This method is working for the moment.
At the bottom of the photo you can see some liatris just barely hanging on and blooming.
Most of the trees are brown, possibly dead. The mesquite trees seem to be the best source of green in the Texas landscape these days.
Ok, so some folks got a bit of rain. This is the most we got here in Fort Worth. Just enough to wet the window.
Rusty flowers installed and rust applied to the white hanger so they match. Must find another indoor project....
