Murdered. Her hair was black and so were her eyes.
She was murdered along the street
amid the hustle and bustle.
Hysteria when she fell
Soundlessly, I saw it unfold on the television
She had been a classmate in the past
I think I saw her die
The news went on silence
mingling movie stars and war.

Memories
by Ramesh Dohan
The car carried him
racing the obvious moon
slashing the trees like a white bird
The obvious upsets me
everyone has a scar which crawls
into the mystery of swimming trunks
The rain fell like applause
as I approached the hospital
It took seven seconds
as my feet strapped and senses
stretched
The room closed on me
like an eyelid
The car carried him
racing the obvious moon
slashing the trees like a white bird
The obvious upsets me
everyone has a scar which crawls
into the mystery of swimming trunks
The rain fell like applause
as I approached the hospital
It took seven seconds
as my feet strapped and senses
stretched
The room closed on me
like an eyelid

From Grace
Ramesh Dohan
I see Zeus
waiting in the checkout
queue. Fallen
on hard times, yet
still magnificent
His striking, aquiline
profile, that white mane
a staircase to heaven
Stuffing sausage-rolls
in his pockets
His eyes fixed, shiftily
on the shelves
of Greek yoghurt
I see Zeus
waiting in the checkout
queue. Fallen
on hard times, yet
still magnificent
His striking, aquiline
profile, that white mane
a staircase to heaven
Stuffing sausage-rolls
in his pockets
His eyes fixed, shiftily
on the shelves
of Greek yoghurt
