Full Steam Ahead

Once or twice every year you can travel between Stockholm and Nynäshamn with one of the steam trains from the Nynäshamn Railway Museum. This locomotive was in traffic between 1907 and 1966. If you missed the chance today you can try again tomorrow.

The Steam Train

My former neighbour Marie, one of her daughters and a bunch of grandkids at the Tungelsta commuter station waiting to get aboard the steam train. The 1136 locomotive was built in 1912.

There's a steam train museum in Nynäshamn. A few times every year they arrange a ride between Stockholm and Nynäshamn.

Earlier today. The steam train leaves Tungelsta and heads for Nynäshamn. A few times every year the Museum in Nynäshamn arrange a couple of trips with their steam train. More photos here.

A couple of times every year the steam train enthusiasts take out the locomotive for a trip to Stockholm on the railway line Nynäsbanan. If you want to, you can travel by steam boat one way, and train the other way.

There's a railway museum in Nynäshamn. A few times every year they arrange a couple of trips with their steam train. The ride goes to Stockholm and then back to Nynäshamn. Today the train had a few problems In Nynäshamn and was late. I waited at the Krigslida station with a couple of photographers. Luckily the weather was great.
