Q U Wedding!

We had a great time at the Q U wedding. While learning about the letter Q we learned that when spelling words that start with q, u is always with q.

After the ceremony, we enjoyed cake and opening presents that started with the letter q or u.

Q U Wedding

In honor of the letter Q we had a Q U wedding on Friday. The kids dressed up and one student from each class was in the ceremony. We had the bride (letter Q), the groom (letter U), the father of the bride, and the minister. The kids had a great time and enjoyed the ceremony. After the ceremony we had cake and juice. The students were asked to bring presents that start with q or u. They brought things like q tips, quilts, quarters, umbrellas, uno card, an undertaker action figure and a queen. The little girl at the top of this post made a q tip wand and her dress was so beautiful.

Quick As A Cricket

We read Quick as a Cricket by Audrey Wood and reviewed nouns. We learned that an adjective is a word that tells or describes the noun. We made a list of nouns and adjectives from the story and then we chose an animal to be our noun and a silly adjective to describe our animal. The students illustrated their noun and wrote their noun and adjective to create a sentence patterned after the book. We will make this into a class book that we can read and enjoy.

Q is for Quilt!

We read The Quilt and made a class quilt with words that had qu in them. The students learned some new vocabulary and illustrated their qu word to make the quilt.
