a fresh summer suite
In March 2020 we moved from our cosy attic room to Minne's old room.
We made a paneled wall and painted it Moroccan pink and it turned out gorgeous.
After a few years some of the wooden parts of the wall came loose and then (preferably) fell down at night. First we glued the parts back to the wall with mounting kit or double-sided adhesive tape. But over time, we had to fix so many panels and it didn't look so smooth anymore and after our holidays we decided to tear it down completely.
I smoothed the walls and painted it white a few times, Well the result was neat but boring, so we were looking for a cool bed head, but couldn't really find something suitable. Finally we decided to get the blue & white wooden beach house panels from the attic again. Nonetheless the fresly painted white walls in the room needed more to make it fresh and cozy again.
Different bedside tables with a bit more body? So we shopped in our own stock and with tables from the garden and studio we both got ourselves a 'new' bedside table.
Solely with a big pot of good paint, a new poster and a new bedside lamp, we turned our room into a fresh summer suite!

the ever-changing cupboard circle
The ever-changing cupboard circle in our house.
A number of cupboards will soon leave my studio when Pippa gets her new home.
The cupboards in my atelier are originally Pippa's closets, so I knew I could use them only 'temporarily'.
They are stuffed with wool, books and handicrafts, so a new storage place has to be created.
Since we have enough furniture and I strongly support reuse, we cleared out the tall old wooden hall cupboard.
But hey, where do you put the things that are inside? Vases, paperwork etc...
As a flower lover I naturally have many vases. So the 'less beautiful' ones moved to the storage shed and Pippa is happy with my golden gun vase for her new home.
Next I emptied the steel circle cupboard in the living room (mainly wool inside) and that's the new vase cupboard.
Conclusion; in my studio it's a mess at the moment, it's rather a storage place, with even more wool and furniture waiting for their new spot.
Nonetheless, the 'vase collection' looks pretty behind the round windows of the cupboard.

flip flop fish, seagulls & dromedaries
La mouette et les dromadaires.
Our favourite spot for lunch and lazy afternoon in the dune forest at the ocean, outside Essaouira near Sidi Kaouki.
Flipflopfish on the wall, fresh fish on the menu and amazing views on the ocean and along the coastline.
After lunch we landed at the quiet beach, with only an old man and his donkey. The ocean was pretty wild that day, so we didn't swim and merely ventured up to our waist in the water.
No doubt, next time we will stay a night in one of the new rooms overlooking the ocean...

jubilee for a sustainable evergreen
New sustainable and unique handmade trees in the SHOP
10 years in a row, a jubilee year for the original woodwoolstool x-mas tree.
I'd rather don't mention the x-word yet, but already got some questions about the trees this weekend.
Therefore, entirely according to tradition, I've made a small collection of the eco-friendly trees for the enthusiasts.
It's never too early (and late) for an evergreen! Have a look and pick your favorite.

the prototype
The very first wood & wool stool dressed up in a new summer outfit.
This stool I made years ago and it is not for sale, it's the prototype of the wood & wool stool, made with a piece of driftwood I once found on the beach in Greece.
The bright blue is my favorite blue, actually it's the same as our bedhead, made from two beach cabin doors.
Love to re-use old pieces of wood!

loose ends of 2015
Ta-da! Here's the loose ends stool cover!
I've made a new stool cover with all wool leftovers from the past year.
Strands of wool that remain after a project, I never throw away, but tie them into a ball of wool.
After a while the leftovers just become a big ball of wool.
I like the 'folkloristic' look, which arises by the mix of different materials and colors.
I wish you a delightful and festive end of the year!
