This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. Smart Plaid Edwardian Dress
From the seller:
Absolutely rich silver ,pewter and white plaid silk taffeta
dress.It consist of an top,and a fabulous A-line taffeta skirt
The top has very tight fitting sleeves and it is designed to totally
cling to your body,There is corset boning on the inside and
There is a double layer fabric on the front with some layering of fabric
to make the wearer more busty . Inside some padding around armpits
that has saved underarm area. The front comes to a soft point.
Sweet cotton collar and cuff detail.
The skirt is cut in a generous A-Line and has a almost like
a greek design applique pattern along hem.
The same around sleeves.
