Altenew Sulfur Cosmos Hugs card and Instagram giveaway

Hi everyone! I have a fun flower card to share today! June is my birthday month and Altenew reached out to me and is offering $15 gift cards to 2 of my Instagram followers! Head over to my IG page to enter!
CRAFT-A-FLOWER: SULFUR COSMOS DIE SET

My card uses the gorgeous Sulfer Cosmos die set which is part of their Craft-A-Flower series. I looked up Sulfer Cosmo flowers and found out they are rich yellows, oranges and red colors. They are stunning!
I die cut the flowers and leaves from Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blended colors on them. After I inked the petals and assembled the flowers, I used glitter brush markers to give a rich shimmer and dimension to them. I also added shimmer to the sentiment and leaves.
The background is the Circle Quilt Cover die cut from black cardstock adhered to a black card base. I added a couple Amber clear drops accents.
I don't make cards with black backgrounds often, but I love how this turned out!

Products used on this card:
----
Catherine Pooler inks: Catching Rays, Mandarin Spice
Gina K Designs inks: Coral Reef, Lucky Clover
-----
Glitter Brush Markers: Key Lime Green, Red Shimmer, Sunshine Yellow, Orange Juice, Clear Shimmer
Clear Drops in Amber

Scrapbook.com Sunny Lane Florals Hello card

Hi everyone! You all know how much I love a good flower die set. I have my forever favorite, Be Bold Blooms and a few others by Spellbinders, but I have another one to add to the list. It's called Sunny Lane Florals by Scrapbook.com.
SUNNY LANE FLORALS AND THANK YOU SENTIMENTS DIE SETS

Sunny Lane Florals has 27 dies of flowers, leaves and sprigs. There are many ways to layer and create different flowers by mixing and matching the flowers and centers it's a really versatile set. You need to check it out!
I die cut my flowers from bright colors of pink, purple and deep orange as I wanted them to POP off the card against the black and white background.
The background is washi tape from Altenew called Dotted. It is a large 4.5" wide washi tape roll and is the perfect size to create fun backgrounds for colorful floral cards. It is a bit challenging to glue down on top of, even foam tape didn't stick, so I used Artis glue by Scrapbook.com. Once it had a chance to dry, they are glued down for good!
The hello sentiment is from the Thank You Sentiments die set which is a set of 4 words that are medium sized and in a really pretty font!
I love how this turned out 😍

Altenew Calming Cluster - Using stencils to color the 3D embossing folder

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing this simple yet beautiful card using Altenew's Calming Cluster 3D embossing folder colored with the coordinating stencil set.
I love how soft and beautiful this turned out. The Calming Cluster 3 and 1 Stencil set actually coordinates with the Calming Cluster stamp set and is a tad larger than the embossing folder. But with a few adjustments I was able to use the stencils and the flower masks to ink the florals perfectly.
It's hard to see in the photo, but I added some gold touches to the flowers with some gold metallic watercolor paints.

To see how I colored this, check out my Instagram Reel!

Supplies used on my card:
I used Kuretake Starry color pans, but Altenew's 14 Pan set of Metallic Watercolors has a beautiful gold as well

Before I go, I wanted to share that it's Creative Kindness Week over at Scrapbook.com and there are great deals on Card Making items and even a few FREEBIES available while supplies last!
Be sure to check it out!

Altenew Rosa Gallica layered stencils card

Hi everyone! I'm sharing another layered stencil card today, this one uses a fabulous collection from Altenew called the Rosa Gallica collection! This collection has a stamp set, layered stencil set of 6 and coordinating dies. I used all 3 for mu card and they are breathtakingly beautiful.
For the background, I used the Tiled Chevron 3D embossing folder and lightly inked it with 2 of the colors I used on the flowers. I love all the sentiment choices in the stamp set, so after heat embossing 3 options, I decided to use them all!
I figured out the key to making these layered stencils/stamp sets really successful is to have the right ink combinations. There are many companies out there right now who make groupings of colors designed for layering which makes is super easy to get great results!
The inks I used for my card are from Gina K Designs, Gina has a few color sets designed for layering.

Products used on this card:
Altenew Rosa Gallica collection (stamp set, stencil set, die set)
Gina K Designs ink in Light, Medium and Dark Spruce; Light, Medium and Dark Lilac
Catherine Pooler ink in Sweet Sixteen and Catching Rays
Copic marker for small flower centers

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Blue roses for your birthday

Hi everyone! I've had the Everything's Rosy stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps for some time and haven't had a chance to use it very much. So when I borrowed the Glacier Caves set of Altenew ink cubes from a friend in I KNEW I HAD to use them with these 4 step roses.
I absolutely LOVE these blue roses!!
Lots of fun goodies on this one. The background was made with the stencil from Simple Stories called Diamond Sparkle. I stenciled with green ink at the bottom and blue at the top. Most of the green is covered up with the sentiment, but just enough is peeking through at the bottom for some balance.
The sentiment is from the Birthday Sentiments stamp set from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Journey Rectangles and silver pearls from Fun Stampers Journey
Standard Circle dies SM and LG from Spellbinders

Watercolor butterfly note cards

Hi everyone! I'm still really enjoying playing with my Arteza Real Brush pens. I'm relatively new to water coloring but finding it fun and relaxing. I'm already looking at student grade 1/2 pan palettes on Amazon to expand my water coloring arsenal.
The images are from the Altenew Painted Butterflies stamp and die sets. I heat embossed several of butterfly outline images and water colored the inside with blue and yellow and blended the colors into each other. The set is actually a 3 step stamping set, but there's no rule that you have to stamp all 3 layers, why not stamp the outline and color the inside as you want?

I made enough butterflies to make a larger set of note cards, but I got sick and was down for the count for 8 days! Man I just don't bounce back from colds like I did when I was younger. Both kids got sick and well during those 8 days, so great fun was had at the Woerner house! lol! Long story short, I only made 2 note cards and moved on! Here's a closer look at them both.
I like the way I placed the sentiment into the flourish die cut, so fun!
I didn't even get around to putting on a sentiment on this one. But sometimes you just want the flexibility of using it for any occasion. Right?
These will end up in my "maybe use someday" box!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Coneflower and butterfly card

Hi everyone! I have a simple and brightly colored coneflower card to share today. The flower is from the Thank You for Caring Coneflower stamp and die set from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps and the sentiment and butterfly are from the Painted Butterflies stamp and die set by Altenew.
I admit, I was not familiar with coneflowers and had to google them to see what colors they were. Imagine my surprise to find out it's echinacea! My family and I swear by echinacea to help with our colds, so it made me love this set even more!! I colored everything with my copic markers and added Stickles to the petals for a bit of sparkle.
I originally colored my butterfly a bright yellow, but after I went in the direction of pale gray cardstock with the black dotted paper it was too much contrast. So I colored another one to match the flower and I think it turned out so pretty all matchy-matchy.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Other supplies used:
Buttons from my grandmas tin
Simple Stories Always & Forever 6x8 paper (on sale)
May Arts burlap twine in natural
White embossing powder
Stickles
Copic markers
Corner rounder

First try with watercolor brush pens

Hi everyone! I have a fun card to share. Some of you who follow me on Instagram have seen me post about my copic coloring journey. Well today I did something new! I tried my hand at water color brush pens. I saw an ad on IG from Arteza and found their prices to be really competitive compared to the Zig Clean brush pens that I have been eying for a few years. I bought the Arteza 48 Real Brush pen pack from Amazon and got a great deal! Once again an impulse buy that I don't regret! (the first being the Crafter's Companion edge dies from HSN!)

I used the lovely dahlia images from the Dahlia Blossoms stamp set from Altenew (all Altenew is on sale at the Stamp Simply store now!). I am relatively new to Altenew, but have been seeing their beautiful designs all over the internet. These dahlias are so lovely!!! For my first try at these pens, I used one color, but with the leaves I did branch out and use 2 -lol!
I watched a few how-to videos about these brush pens on YouTube and will say, these talented artists make it look so easy! It ended up taking me 45 minutes to color these 2 flowers, but I think with some more practice I will get much faster. I really do like working with these. They are much different than Copics, but in lots of ways they are more forgiving.

I have 2 tips for anyone looking to try these:
1 -I found it easier, and had less bleeding over the stamped line, if I heat embossed the image
2 -Quality of watercolor paper is key! Sadly the FSJ watercolor paper I had in my stash did not work with these pens. I went to my local Dick Blicks store and picked up a Canson XL watercolor paper (140lb, 300f) and they worked like a charm!
Anyway, expect to see me use these often!
Here's how the pens look when swatched on watercolor paper. I posted this for the 30 day coloring challenge -hence the label. There are some really pretty colors!!

Today is the last day of the 30 day marker coloring challenge, so I have a WHOLE BUNCH of flower images in a pile just waiting to get made into cards. I plan on using simple layouts and focusing on birthday cards because I never seem to have enough in my stash!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
