Autumn is here! Falling Leaves plate and September Wax Seal of the month -2 card designs

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing 2 fun fall cards. Fall is here whether we're ready or not, and this month Spellbinders has a great new fall collection called Falling Leaves and the Monthly Club kits also have a fall theme.
First up is a card using some of the Falling Leaves collection with a few added fall accent die cuts.
AUTUMN RAIN PRESS PLATE AND STENCIL BUNDLE

One of my FAVORITE things to do with the BetterPress plates is to foil them! I love how the BP plates can be pressed or foiled. Given their multi-use, I wonder if Spellbinders will continue to make them and quietly stop making Hot Foil plates?
I chose to foil the Autumn Rain plate with matte gold foil and colored it in with the coordinating stencil set (which has 5 stencils). I used a blue teal color for the umbrella for a nice pop of color and stenciled the leaves with a nice green turning to red. I added some fall leaf die cuts with a simple 1 layer sunflower as accents.
Next I have a fall card using the September Wax Seal of the Month, the seal stamp is called "Falling Leaves" and is an oval shape with a variety of fall leaves. I used the Autumn Mix of wax beads and highlighted the leaves with my DecoColor gold pen.
SEPTEMBER 2024 WAX SEAL OF THE MONTH AND AUTUMN SEALED SPRIGS

I used a couple of my older Sealed Stems sets with the wax seal. I love all of these stems and they can be used without wax seals. A lovely bow, circle sentiment, lots of possibilities. I wanted to use some of the fall papers that I had in my stash and used the patterned and solids from the paper pad.
I love how these turned out!

Spellbinders Poppy Background press plate -Foiled and Reverse Foiled

Hi everyone! I'm back today sharing 2 more cards from the latest collection designed by Yana Smakula for Spellbinders called Yana's Poppies. This collection features this gorgeous poppy die and outline and a BetterPress background plate with coordinating stencil. If you missed my first post, you can check it out HERE.
YANA'S POPPIES AND BE BOLD BLOOMS DIE SETS

My card uses the Poppy Background BetterPress Plate with Coordinating stencils. This background is for the BetterPress, but I prefer to foil with these plates. I kept with the blue and maroon colors from my first card and used the Cobalt Blue foil with some bright maroon inks. I'm obsessed with this color combo!
I went old school and pulled out some of my 1.5" silk ribbon from my stash. I was looking through some older blog posts, saw a few cards with the big beautiful bows that were popular over 10 years ago an was inspired!
I foiled the A Little Message Sentiments press plates with matte silver foil and cut with the Emerald Cut Labels and Tags die set.

My second card uses the REVERSE foil of the background plate. I may actually love this more than the background! If you're not saving your foil sheets after foiling and trying it on a piece of white cardstock, you should be! Honestly, most of the reverse foiling I try are fails, but this one is a winner!

Foiling with BetterPress Plates and Trying New Metallic Watercolors

Hi everyone! I tried a little something different for these cards. I foiled a BetterPress plate! I've seen other crafters do it with great success, so I tried it myself and it worked beautifully. At first I tried it with a shim and realized that I didn't need it. So if you have the Glimmer and fall in love with a BetterPress plate, go for it! You can used it like a glimmer plate!
I glimmered on dark cardstock and used some new metallic watercolors to color them. I love the sparkle and shine with these metallic watercolors. Check them out.

SEALED FLORALS PRESS PLATE

I used the Sealed Florals press plate (from the Pressed Posies collection) for both of these cards. I glimmered on black cardstock with gold foil and on navy cardstock with matte silver foil. I use white cardstock for 85% of my cards, so branching out with dark colors was really out of my comfort zone. I even considered not posting them, I just really love crisp white cardstock. But in the end, I liked these well enough to share.
On a whim I purchased a metallic watercolor paint palette by Arteza from Amazon and it sat on my desk a good long time until I got the idea to glimmer on dark cardstock. While I do love the shimmery effect, I was a little disappointed on how the colors showed up on cardstock and I was hoping for more pink and green options in the palette. I didn't realize these were heavy on the iridescent which shows up different then in the pan. But this image doesn't have much to color and I think all and all they turned out pretty.
I foiled the press plate with matte silver foil on to navy cardstock. Then I matted the navy panel to matte silver cardstock and then onto a white card base. The "hello" sentiment die came from the Wonderful Script Sentiments die set. I love that the wispy font goes with the tall stems of the flowers! I added a few small silver pearls, a piece of twine and some silver splatter for the final touches.
This card uses matte gold foil and I used one of the new Must-Have Wax Bead mixes in Pink. I love the mix of wax beads in this set. 3 shades of pink and some gold. Perfection! The wax seal is from my stash.
Like my other card, I matted the black panel to matte gold cardstock and die cut the sentiment from the same. I added a few gold gems to the large flower center and added some gold splatter as finishing touches.

Elegant in Gold Happy New Year Card

Hi everyone! I have a fun New Year's card to share today using one of the new BetterPress plates from the Copperplate Holiday Sentiments collection designed by Paul Antonio. This collection features several holiday phrases written in his signature font. Check out the entire collection here.
. . . . .
My card uses the Happy New Year press plate. The font is just stunning! I foiled my plate in gold and used gold and white with a tiny pop of green for my card. Back in the day (before kids), I would celebrate New Year's Eve with an elegant gown and attend fabulous events. So I gravitate to classic elegance for all my New Year's cards.
I thought this sentiment needed a little embellishing and initially thought to go with stars, but ended up using the lovely blooms from the Christmas Blooms die set. Try as I might, I can't stay away from flowers.
I die cut and matted the sentiment with the Nested Postage Labels & Tag die set which is an absolute must have die set! The background was made with the new Starshine Background cover plate die, this has a lovely delicate star-like pattern. I love this cover plate and I know it will get a ton of use. Perfect behind florals or die cuts of any kind!

Spellbinders Glimmering Peonies - 2 card designs

Hi everyone! I'm back today sharing 2 more cards using the Glimmering Flowers collection by Spellbinders. This collection features two A2 sized floral glimmer plates, 1 glimmer sentiment plate with dies and a coordinating layering stencil sets for both of the florals! If you missed my previous post sharing 2 Glimmering Buttercup cards, you can check it out HERE.
GLIMMERING PEONIES AND CURVED EVERYDAY SENTIMENTS

My first card uses the Glimmering Peonies plate and a sentiment from the Curved Everyday Sentiments. I foiled the peonies with gold foil and stenciled them with shades of peachy-corals with several shades of cool toned blue green leaves.
Like the Glimmering Buttercups, the Peonies plate has coordinating layering stencils which I love because these are large and for those who don't like lots of coloring, layering stencils are a good option. The Glimmering Peonies glimmer plate WITH layering stencils is $15.19 more than the plate alone.
To add a little something extra, I looked through my stash of Be Bold Blooms and found the perfect shade of peachy-coral die cut and I added it over the left side of the sentiment which I foiled in gold.

GLIMMERING PEONIES AND YANA'S SPECIAL SENTIMENTS

For my second card, I went with something totally different for me. I foiled the Glimmering Peonies plate with gold foil on Blue Spruce cardstock and lightly colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils.
I love my white cards, but there is something magical with dark cards. I matted the image to matte gold cardstock then adhered it to a black card base. This card came together pretty fast, especially when I have a variety of sentiments already foiled and die cut in my stash.

Spellbinders Glimmering Buttercups - 2 card designs

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing 2 cards using the Glimmering Flowers collection by Spellbinders. This collection features two A2 sized floral glimmer plates, 1 glimmer sentiment plate with dies and a coordinating layering stencil sets for both of the florals!
GLIMMERING BUTTERCUPS AND CURVED EVERYDAY SENTIMENTS

My first card uses the Glimmering Buttercups plate and a sentiment from the Curved Everyday Sentiments. I foiled the buttercups with black foil and stenciled them with shades of yellow with cool toned blue green leaves.
I love that this collection has coordinating layering stencils. These are large images and for crafters who are intimidated by lots of coloring, layering stencils are a great solution at a really great price. The Glimmering Buttercups glimmer plate WITH layering stencils is $12.59 more than the plate alone.
I wanted to bring out more of the green in the leaves, so I foiled the sentiment with green foil. I love how it turned out!

GLIMMERING BUTTERCUPS AND WONDERFUL SCRIPT SENTIMENTS

For my second card, I went with a no-coloring and clean look. I foiled the Glimmering Buttercups plate with Pastel Mint (from the 4 pack of Satin Pastels) and trimmed it down to fill the lower left side.
I added a few gold gems to the centers and added a die cut sentiment and was done! This card was pretty easy to make, especially when I have a variety of sentiments already foiled and die cut in my stash.

Quick and easy elegant sentiment card

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a fairly quick and easy card. This card focuses on the stunning sentiment from the Copperplate Everyday collection by Paul Antonio for Spellbinders.
COPPERPLATE THINKING OF YOU PRESS PLATE

This gorgeous sentiment is from the Copperplate Thinking of You press plate from the Copperplate Everyday collection. This is a BetterPress plate, but for this card I chose to foil it with Fuchsia Flower foil. I used the oldie but goodie, Labels 8 die set to die cut it out. I love the simple elegant shape of this Labels die set.
I chose a cute floral pattern paper from the Paper Rose Rainbow Twirl 2.0 6x6 pad and cut a strip. To the bottom, I added a 1/8" strip of blue glitter paper for some sparkle. The purple scallop that I tucked under the panel is from the Heartfelt Thanks and Scallops die set, I just cut off a side of scalloped rectangle and used it instead of a scalloped border die. I added a few flowers from my beloved Be Bold Blooms die set and that was it. I didn't need to add any extra bling because of the few pieces of glitter cardstock. I love how it turned out!

Spellbinders: Let's Celebrate wax seal card

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a wax seal card from the Let's Celebrate collection by Yana Smakula for Spellbinders. In case you missed my other cards showcasing this release you can check them out HERE and HERE. This entire collection is so lovely you should check it out!
PEONY CELEBRATION DIE SET AND LET'S CELEBRATE WAX SEAL

My card uses both the Let's Celebrate wax seal stamp and the Peony Celebration die set from the collection. I love using wax seals on my cards. I combined this one with a lovely glimmer background plate and some Sealed die sets.
I used Glacier cardstock for my base and gold foil for the glimmered background. To keep with the gold and blue theme, I die cut the Peony Celebration floral bloom from Gold Mirror cardstock and pieced the bloom with white cardstock to help the wax seal stamp stand out.
I die cut Glacier and Raindrop cardstock with a few of my favorite Sealed stem dies for the wax seal.

Love you to the Moon and Back wax seal card

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a love/friendship card that uses the Spellbinders December 2023 Wax Seal of the Month called To the Moon. The Wax Seal came with a packet of 100 Coral wax beads. Such a pretty color! Here's what I made.
I coral color of wax perfectly matched my top 2 go-to cardstock colors in the coral family, Peach Bellini and Calypso Coral. The colors blend equally with gold and silver, but I found this gold foiled background in my stash and went with it!

Spellbinders | December 2023 Small Die and 3D Embossing Folder of the Month

Hi everyone! It's December 6th and that means the enrollment for all of the Spellbinders clubs is open for new subscribers!
And in case you haven't heard, there is a brand new club, the Stencil of the Month Club! The cost for the Stencil club is $14 a month.

Today I am sharing 2 cards and first up is a card that uses the Small Die of the Month, called Sneaking a Kiss
I paper pieced their clothes with some patterned paper. The periwinkle blue with white set the stage for my color choices of lavender and navy blue. The background is a foiled piece that I had in my stash. I've mentioned before, but I always foil in batches and keep a large stash of backgrounds and sentiments on hand to work with.
----------
Next is a card that uses the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month called Two Hearts as One. This folder is designed with 2 designs! It's pretty cool, I've not seen an embossing folder designed like this before.
I chose to emboss white cardstock and lightly ink blend the raised floral elements with a variety of Distress Oxide inks using ink blending brushes. I then added some Stickles to a few of the flower centers for that extra pop of sparkle!
