Autumn is here! Falling Leaves plate and September Wax Seal of the month -2 card designs

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing 2 fun fall cards. Fall is here whether we're ready or not, and this month Spellbinders has a great new fall collection called Falling Leaves and the Monthly Club kits also have a fall theme.
First up is a card using some of the Falling Leaves collection with a few added fall accent die cuts.
AUTUMN RAIN PRESS PLATE AND STENCIL BUNDLE

One of my FAVORITE things to do with the BetterPress plates is to foil them! I love how the BP plates can be pressed or foiled. Given their multi-use, I wonder if Spellbinders will continue to make them and quietly stop making Hot Foil plates?
I chose to foil the Autumn Rain plate with matte gold foil and colored it in with the coordinating stencil set (which has 5 stencils). I used a blue teal color for the umbrella for a nice pop of color and stenciled the leaves with a nice green turning to red. I added some fall leaf die cuts with a simple 1 layer sunflower as accents.
Next I have a fall card using the September Wax Seal of the Month, the seal stamp is called "Falling Leaves" and is an oval shape with a variety of fall leaves. I used the Autumn Mix of wax beads and highlighted the leaves with my DecoColor gold pen.
SEPTEMBER 2024 WAX SEAL OF THE MONTH AND AUTUMN SEALED SPRIGS

I used a couple of my older Sealed Stems sets with the wax seal. I love all of these stems and they can be used without wax seals. A lovely bow, circle sentiment, lots of possibilities. I wanted to use some of the fall papers that I had in my stash and used the patterned and solids from the paper pad.
I love how these turned out!

Spellbinders July 2024 Small Die, Wax Seal and Stencil of the Month

Hi everyone! It's been a super busy few weeks and I almost forgot to post my second card using the July Spellbinders Club Kits! Today I'll be sharing inspiration for the Stencil of the Month and Wax Seal of the Month. If you missed my card using the Small Die of the Month you can find it HERE.
This month's theme is Christmas in July and each of the sets are fabulous!

Club subscription info:
The new subscription sign up window is from the 6th to the 27th.  After existing club members subscriptions have been processed, any inventory remaining will be available for new subscriptions. Continuing Subscriptions will charge on the 5th of each month, which means existing Club Members will be able to cancel subscriptions or make edits to payment or shipping info up until the 4th of each month.
JULY 2024 SMALL DIE, STENCIL AND WAX SEAL OF THE MONTH

This month's Small Die is called "Skating into the Holidays" and features an ice skate along with gorgeous poinsettia flower and lots of greenery and berries to adorn it.
The Stencil set is called "Sprigs and Bow" and has 3 layering stencils and a mask for the bow portion. I only used the 2 sprigs stencils for my background. The berries accent berries in the sprigs are stenciled on with Ruby Glitter Pops of Color, and it's the perfect amount of sparkle!
The Wax Seal is called "Joyful Snowflake" and is a perfect simple single snowflake that is sized the entire wax seal stamp. It's so lovely!
I wanted to add a poinsettia cluster and have my wax seal peeking out from the petals, but I didn't want to cover up the pretty stenciled background. So I made an open frame using oen of my go-to basic shape dies sets, the Nested Postage Labels & Tag die set. I think it gives the perfect frame for the cluster and sentiment and allows the background to be seen.
I love how this turned out.

Spellbinders Glimmering Peonies - 2 card designs

Hi everyone! I'm back today sharing 2 more cards using the Glimmering Flowers collection by Spellbinders. This collection features two A2 sized floral glimmer plates, 1 glimmer sentiment plate with dies and a coordinating layering stencil sets for both of the florals! If you missed my previous post sharing 2 Glimmering Buttercup cards, you can check it out HERE.
GLIMMERING PEONIES AND CURVED EVERYDAY SENTIMENTS

My first card uses the Glimmering Peonies plate and a sentiment from the Curved Everyday Sentiments. I foiled the peonies with gold foil and stenciled them with shades of peachy-corals with several shades of cool toned blue green leaves.
Like the Glimmering Buttercups, the Peonies plate has coordinating layering stencils which I love because these are large and for those who don't like lots of coloring, layering stencils are a good option. The Glimmering Peonies glimmer plate WITH layering stencils is $15.19 more than the plate alone.
To add a little something extra, I looked through my stash of Be Bold Blooms and found the perfect shade of peachy-coral die cut and I added it over the left side of the sentiment which I foiled in gold.

GLIMMERING PEONIES AND YANA'S SPECIAL SENTIMENTS

For my second card, I went with something totally different for me. I foiled the Glimmering Peonies plate with gold foil on Blue Spruce cardstock and lightly colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils.
I love my white cards, but there is something magical with dark cards. I matted the image to matte gold cardstock then adhered it to a black card base. This card came together pretty fast, especially when I have a variety of sentiments already foiled and die cut in my stash.

Spellbinders Glimmering Buttercups - 2 card designs

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing 2 cards using the Glimmering Flowers collection by Spellbinders. This collection features two A2 sized floral glimmer plates, 1 glimmer sentiment plate with dies and a coordinating layering stencil sets for both of the florals!
GLIMMERING BUTTERCUPS AND CURVED EVERYDAY SENTIMENTS

My first card uses the Glimmering Buttercups plate and a sentiment from the Curved Everyday Sentiments. I foiled the buttercups with black foil and stenciled them with shades of yellow with cool toned blue green leaves.
I love that this collection has coordinating layering stencils. These are large images and for crafters who are intimidated by lots of coloring, layering stencils are a great solution at a really great price. The Glimmering Buttercups glimmer plate WITH layering stencils is $12.59 more than the plate alone.
I wanted to bring out more of the green in the leaves, so I foiled the sentiment with green foil. I love how it turned out!

GLIMMERING BUTTERCUPS AND WONDERFUL SCRIPT SENTIMENTS

For my second card, I went with a no-coloring and clean look. I foiled the Glimmering Buttercups plate with Pastel Mint (from the 4 pack of Satin Pastels) and trimmed it down to fill the lower left side.
I added a few gold gems to the centers and added a die cut sentiment and was done! This card was pretty easy to make, especially when I have a variety of sentiments already foiled and die cut in my stash.

Easy Pinkfresh Studio washi tape cards

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing 2 quick and easy cards using Pinkfresh Studio washi tape die cuts. I bought this lovely dahlia washi tape and die cut them out almost a year ago. Evidently I set them aside and lost them, only to find them this weekend! Check out what I made.
This washi tape is STUNNING! Really, ALL of their washi tape is stunning. What I love is Pinkfresh makes coordinating die sets to cut out all the pieces (or you can fussy cut them if the die is not in your budget). I chose to adhere the washi tape to white cardstock, but for a softer look you can adhere to vellum and it has a beautiful translucent look.
For this square card, I used the Stitched Scalloped Squares and chose cardstock that coordinated with the pinks in the washi designs. I layered 4 of the cut outs at opposite corners, added a few gold pearls and a glimmered sentiment from my sentiment stash box.
This is a mini slimline card and the Slimline Stitched Scalloped Rectangles are sized for a regular slimline card, so I cut pieces out on all 4 sides to make it smaller. Most of the cut lines I was able to cover up with the washi die cuts, but if you look close at the top right corner, you can see one peeking out! For the background, I used the Geometric Tile layering stencil set. I used Distress Oxide inks on 2 of the 4 layers so it the washi die cuts could take center stage.

Supplies used on these cards:
Distress Oxide inks in Saltwater Taffy and Bundled Sage
Black Glossy cardstock

New Sizzix and Stacey Park collaboration - 3 card designs

Hi everyone! I'm excited to share a few cards that feature new products just released by Sizzix and Stacey Park.
The collection features a fabulous magnetic die stand, dye ink pads, cool shaped frame die sets, layering stencils and background stamps!
UPTOWN BACKGROUND STAMP AND STITCHED HEXAGON DIES

To make background of this card, I stamped the Uptown background stamp with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then used 3 Distress Oxide inks colors and blended them together allowing them to over lap giving this neat pastel rainbow look. I die cut it with the Nested A2 Rectangles and layered it with some pink cardstock. I created a white hexagon frame with the Stitched Hexagon die set, adhered it to the center of my panel and added some flowers from the Sunny Lane Florals die set.
----------
FROND LAYERING STENCILS AND DOTTED TOP NOTE DIE SET

I love this Dotted Top Note die set! It reminds me of a Sizzix die that I had way back in the day. I used the largest die in the set for my card. I chose a happy striped piece of patterned paper from the Birthday 6x8 paper pad and coordinated the color of ink I used on the Frond stencil set and the flower dies to match. I stenciled the sentiment with some black stencil paste (yes, I practiced on scratch paper!)
This card is so fun, it just makes me smile!
----------
FLORAL IMPRESSIONS LAYERING STENCILS AND SUNNY LANE FLORALS DIE SET

This card uses the funky Floral Impressions layering stencil. I love the abstractness of it. I used quite a few Distress Oxide inks with this stencil. I played around with some colors first using bright colors, I thought it was screaming at me, so I changed it up to these more muted tones.
I added some die cut flowers from the Sunny Lane Florals die set and a sentiment from the Joyful Wishes stamp set.

Supplies used on the HUGS card
Distress Oxide inks:  Broken China, Squeezed Lemonade, Kitch Flamingo

Supplies used on the THANK YOU card
Distress Oxide inks:  Tumbled Glass, Squeezed Lemonade, Kitch Flamingo, Bundled Sage

Little Pink Houses Christmas card

Hi everyone! I have a quick and easy Christmas card to share today. It's using a Layering Stencil set from Hero Arts called Layering Holiday Neighborhood. It's 3 stencils which makes it easy to pick your colors, ink and go! Here's how it turned out.
I used 3 light colored inks and in hind sight I could have gone with one of the greens a bit darker, but it's still really cute. I stamped and die cut out the little kittie from the Winter Mail Critters. The critters in this stamp set are holding an envelope, so the set could be used for Valentines and birthdays too!
You might be able to see in the photo the glitter paste stenciled over the Christmas tree, roof, snowflake and some star accents? I stenciled those with the green color and then went over it with Stickles Moon Dust Gel which added the perfect amount of sparkle!

Hero Arts Layering Holiday Neighborhood (currently sold out, sign up to be notified)
My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop Edge rectangle frame
Hero Arts Holiday Message Transfers (for sentiment)
Spellbinders Christmas Blooms die set (flower accent)

There's a NEW Spellbinders club! Welcome the Stencil of the Month

Hi everyone! I am super excited about today's post. There is a new Spellbinders Club in town! Last month we said good-bye to our beloved Quick and Easy Card Making Kit (more on that below) and this month we WELCOME the new Stencil of the Month! This month's stencil set is called "My Love Grows"!
**If you love the ease of layering stencils then the Stencil of the Month Club kit is for you!!**
The stencil club will be a set of 4 A2 sized layering stencils with a cost of $14 each month! This kit works like all the others, the kit reveal is the 1st of the month, they charge you on the 5th, and will ship by the end of the month. The NEW sign up window is the 6th to the 27th.
If you are interested in the new Stencil Club of the Month, be sure to click the "add to cart" button and be one of the first to sign up on the 6th.
Here is what I made.
The December clubs all have a Valentines/Love theme which is perfect for all your Valentine's Day projects. My card uses the December Layering Stencil set, the sentiments from the Small Die of the Month (another project to come) and flowers from the January 2023 Large Die of the Month (which is still available!).
For the "bloom" layer, I used some Cloud Whip that I colored with the Lilac Pop of Color which gives the blooms some depth and texture. If you see a grainy texture in it, that is from the stickles I added. I thought it would make the paste all sparkly, but alas it was a fail. The paste covers the glitter -lol!!
**Stencil ink tip**
I didn't have the right color of green for the "veins" that looked right over the Mardi Gras ink. So I used more of the Mardi Gras and then went over it with a neutral toned medium gray color. It blended nicely over the bright Mardi Gras green and turned out amazing!

Products used on this card
January 2023 Large Die of the Month (flowers)
Catherine Pooler inks in Pixie Dust, Mardi Gras, Slate
Pops of Color in Soft Lavender Gloss
If you haven't already, be sure to check out all the other Monthly Club Kits.
New subscribers can place their orders between November 6-27th.

***If you are a fan of card making kits***
Spellbinders still has some kits available, you can go to the PAST CLUB KITS page. Right now kits from each month in 2023 (except for Jan and Feb) are still available!! A few are on sale for $20 or less!
