Valentine's Day with Flocking powder

I made this skinny card so I could let my sentiment hang off the edge. The sentiment stamp is by Close to My Heart which is on a Cricut label die and the happy letters are by Cosmo Cricket. The patterned papers are by My Mind's Eye and the heart ribbon by Heidi Grace for Fiskars. The heart in the middle of the twine is a button from my stash as well as the lace at the bottom.

I die cut the hearts using my Cricut and then ran them through my Xyron to make them sticky. I used two separate colors of pink flocking powder on each of the heart die cuts. Once the flocking powder was on the heart I ran them through my Cuttlebug to make the flocking powder really stick to the adhesive on the heart. The two colors of pink flocking powder are by Inkadinkado.

Thanks so much for looking.

Deep Red Stamps Merry and Bright

My Holly Stamp is by Deep Red Stamps and can be purchased at Scrapbook . com or A Cherry on Top.

I stamped the holly with green Versa Color pigment ink and heat embossed it in clear. I applied gold distress stain over the entire image and heat set it to dry. I wanted the image to have more sparkle so I sprayed it with water mixed with Perfect Pearls and heat set it again.

There are 4 different patterned papers in this card. The red polka dot paper is unknown but the rest are as follows: green sparkle background paper is by My Mind's Eye, green matting paper by K and i memories and off white with small pattern at the bottom by K and Co. The Merry bingo card is by Jenni Bowlin and the & Bright stickers are by Making Memories.

Thanks for looking.

Kitty Christmas Card for Chalk Ah Lot challenge

Hi all. Welcome back to week 2 of Chalk Ah Lot's animal with chalk challenge. I have a new Christmas card to share using powdered chalk and a kitten stamp by Stamp N Plus. The powdered chalk can be found HERE and the kitten stamp can be found HERE

I colored the kitten in with powdered chalk mixed with water. It's the perfect medium to color in images and there's no need to spray a fixative because the powdered chalk stays on the image. I also used the same mixture to place splotches of the flesh colored chalk on the white cardstock around the image. The sentiment stamp also by Stamp N Plus can be found HERE; it is stamped with Stampin Up ink onto K and Co patterned paper.

The candy-patterned paper on my card is by October Afternoon and the red background paper is by My Mind's Eye. The green cardstock is by Sunborn and white cardstock by Recollections. I used some older green lace my mom found in her basement for the bottom. I doubled it up in the center to give it a little dimension and then placed an unknown flower over the center to cover the adhesive. This type of dimension seems to go through the postal system without extra postage.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sit back and relax

A perfect little card to remind us to sit back and relax on this wonderful start to the new year. My sentiment stamp is by Unity Stamp Co that I stamped onto CGull blue paper with Close to my Heart ink. Then I die cut it out using a Spellbinders die and inked the edges with blue distress ink by Ranger.

The patterned paper I used in my card are by My Mind's Eye and Basic Grey. The button is from my Moms stash and the green hemp is by Jillibean Soup.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day. May 2014 be a better year then 2013 was. May our remaining parents find better health and endure less stress than the previous year. May the cancer they took out of my mother's breast be in that one spot and then onto radiation instead of surgery #3 which would be to remove the breast and then possibly go to chemo-yuck!  There's more but I won't air my family problems here on my crafting blog. Just know there is a lot going on with out parents and we hope and pray for 2014 to have better outcomes then 2013 did.

Deep Red Stamps Presents for the holidays

I made this card with a Presents stamp by DeepRed Stamp and it can be found at A Cherry on Top.

I heat embossed the image with silver embossing powder and colored in the image with Distress Markers and Distress ink by Ranger Industries.

The background paper is by Provo Craft-very old, the diagonal striped paper is old by My Mind's Eye and the red paper is by Basic Grey.

The red paper is dry embossed with a Darice embossing folder and then sprayed with water and Perfect Pearls to give it a fun shimmery. I matted that piece onto white cardstock and added it to my card base.
The sentiment is a sticker by American Crafts on a scrap piece of paper.

Thanks for looking.

Jolly and Joy

I'm back today, from a little blog break, to share yet another Christmas card, actually 2 in this post. The digital image is by, I believe, Robyn's Fetish which printed I right on the card base and then printed it again in the three different patterned papers by My Mind's Eye and The Paper Studio. I did a paper piecing techniques to the ornaments which is something fun and different that you can do with digital images. For Jolly I kept the white space white to draw the attention to the ornaments. See Joy below where I colored the white space.

The rest of my card is nice and easy using My Mind's Eye patterned paper for the bottom portion of the card. I placed a K and Co border in the middle {green snowflakes} and then stamped the Hero Arts sentiment with Stampin Up Real Red ink onto the patterned paper. The card base is by Studio G at Michael's. Curse you Michael's Dollar Bin! You get me every single time.!

Scroll down

Joy is a little bit different and I'm not sure I'm loving the end product or not but wanted to show you the difference. I printed the digi out on the card base and again on the patterned paper-Actually if you take a look at Jolly I used the same digi print out from the above card. Just be careful when you cut the first ornament set to leave the second set useable. time to keep the other side of the ornaments
I printed out the ornaments onto red cardstock by Stampin Up. Before adhering the pieces together I used  red/pink distress ink on the card base around the images.

I had printed the digital images and paper pieced these cards  a few years back. I recently came across them as I was cleaning and decided they need to be finished. I thought I would try and blend the reddish colored ink with aqua distress ink. Had I masked off the ornaments and spent a little more time with it I'm sure it would have blended better. Oh well Live N Learn and then move on.

The border punch is by EK Success and Joy sticker sentiment is by Mrs Grossman's.

One week until Christmas and I hope you are more prepared then I am. Have a great Wednesday.

Christmas Cards all Year Round Mid Month

Here we are the middle of November already. Wait. What? Crazy how fast the time goes by except when I'm at work. grin

I have two cards to show you for our Winter Wonderland challenge going on for another 15 days. So join in on the fun at Christmas Cards all Year Round because the prize this month is being donated by ME! See picture of prize below my cards. Keep in mind I've been known to throw in extras to make things a surprise for the recipient. So link up right

My first card features an old Stampin Up stamp but I love it. It isn't actually my stamp set. I stamped a bunch of the image while at a friends house last year. This year I pulled them out and made this fun creation. I inked the edges of the white cardstock with Ranger Industries distress ink Iced Spruce. I colored in the couple pieces of the snowman with Ranger's distress markers. Then the rest of my card is a super easy design and I used patterned paper by My Mind's Eye, white cardstock by Neenah which I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and the snowflake brad is by The Paper Studio. Easy Peasy.

My second card uses an Inkadinkado snowman stamp that I also borrowed from a friend. I stamped and heat embossed a bunch of them out to play with later. For this one I used similar products as the one above. First I inked the white cardstock with Ranger Industries Iced Spruce distress ink. I sprayed the cardstock with water mixed with Perfect Pearls also by Ranger Industries. It really makes that white embossed image stand out and with a beautiful sparkle added to it. The patterned paper is the same as above by My Mind's Eye, the sentiment sticker by American Crafts and the seam binding is ridiculous old. The spool it is on says "Hug Snug" woven edge rayon seam binding a quality product by Lawrence Schiff Silk Mills Inc. 100 yards of it-really? What am I going to do with a 100 yards? You will probably see more of this in future posts.
I'm really am thankful that my Mother and Mother in Law are both sewing pack rats. I get their old hand-me-downs.

Here is a picture of what I have so far.

Warm Wishes

I really love this next stamp by Deep Red Stamps.

You can find this mailbox stamp at A Cherry On Top. I stamped it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with silver sparkle embossing powder by Stampendous onto Strathmore watercolor paper. Then using my distress markers from Ranger Industries I was able to color in the mailbox and even add some shading to it. I love the distress markers as you can probably tell from all my posts. I find them so easy to use and I quickly get the results I'm looking for.

I used Glossy Accents by Ranger Industries with glitter from Stampin Up for the snow parts of the image. After I was finished coloring, I die cut the image out using a Spellbinders die and then matted it on the next biggest size die with some very old My Mind's Eye paper.

The red paper is a wood grain look and it is from We R Memory Keepers. The green paper on the bottom is by Making Memories, which is not meant for Christmas cards but works well with the distress ink markers that I have. The dry embossed piece of cardstock is by Bazzill. The embossing folder is by Darice and I lightly inked the edges with distress ink Iced Spruce. To finish the card off I applied a sentiment sticker from Hobby Lobby and a glittery present by Recollections.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love to read your comments and so appreciate you leaving them for me.

Here is a thinking of you card  that may bring some joy to that someone special. I created this card using a chair stamp and sentiment by Stamp N Plus

The turquoise cardstock is from Hobby Lobby, grey and orange by Sunborn with with cardstock by Recollections. The orange cardstock is cut out using a Spellbinders die cut. The doily patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye and the checked is unknown.

I heat embossed the chair stamp with silver embossing powder by Stampendous and ink by Versa Mark. Then I colored in the image with distress markers and distress ink both by Ranger Industries. The sentiment is stamped in Taken with Teal by Stampin Up and I embellished the card with sequins by Craft Medley and rhinestones from Want 2 Scrap.

Thinking of you

Chalk-Ah-Lot's fortnightly challenge Thinking of You with chalk continues on for one more week. I made another card for the challenge.
My card uses THIS pumpkin stamp and THIS sentiment stamp both by Stamp N Plus.
I used powdered chalk mixed with paint to color in/paint in my focal image. You can find powdered chalks HERE.
The image was stamped with Hero Arts Black ink, colored and cut out. The white cardstock is by Recollections and all other by Bazzill. The square orange die cut is by Quickutz and the other die cuts are by Spellbinders. I pinched the circle out using a Creative Memories circle punch. The patterned paper in my card is by Basic Grey and MME. Other ink used in my card is by Ranger Industries and Close to my Heart.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card.

What an amazing line up of cards I have for you this week. This post is packed with masculine cards galore!

There's even a bonus - same image three different ways which I find so helpful to see especially digital images. Love to see different color schemes and embellishments that others have used to achieve a little bit different look. Check it out.

Weren't those fabulous? I am so inspired and amazed by the crafty cards these ladies have created. A big thanks to all of them for allowing us to post links to them here.

For my card today I die cut 3 ties evenly spaced on Neenah Solar White cardstock on my Cricut {Ultimate Creative Series Sampler ~ Bonus 4 ~ Paper Dolls Dress Up}. You have to cut them at like 5" or 6" {or more~I can't quite remember the exact size I used}. I started by moving the blade down and over to the right so I would be able to cut this panel out for my card.  Cut your first tie then move your blade over 3-4 spaces and cut the next then repeat. After those cuts I cut the same tie but much bigger and in patterned paper by My Mind's Eye, DCWV and October Afternoon (from left to right)

There are a bunch of layers to the card starting at the white card base by Recollections. I then adhered a piece of aqua cardstock to the base which I cut smaller to leave a white edge border. Next we have a piece of white cardstock with the patterned paper ties adhered to it so to line up with the outlines in the next layer. I used foam adhesive on the white cardstock to give my plain card some fun dimension. I wrapped the braiding cord by Sulyn Industries around the raised cardstock. I ended up having to remove the cardstock from the other layers to add the tag and get the cord in place. Oh well, lesson learned. The stamps is by Hero Arts and the ink is by Close to my Heart.

Kind of plain and simply but according to my sources manly cards don't need to be all fancy with loaded embellishments or techniques. Just plain and simple is most effective.

Thanks for looking. Have a great Monday!
