Happy Birthday Little Ladybug card

Isn’t this a cute little card! The ladybug is a Cricut cut. The green and blue are distress inks on Ranger watercolor cardstock. I ripped the bottom edge of the front panel and tada, that’s it.

Thanks for looking. HAGD!

The Oops to a Butterfly to a Cover-up to a Fall card

This background was a distress oxide disaster. I tried to cover it by using darker distressed inks and this butterfly stencil. Yuck!
I wasn't sure what to do with it. So it sat in a bin of other misfit cards. But then...

I added another stencil with even darker distress ink and it covered the butterfly

Then I added these squares and the sentiment.

What do you think? I think it was a good cover-up. Thanks for looking

Up cycling Grandma's card

When we would visit Grandma in Detroit she would give me all of the cards she had received. Including my own.

She would have been 101 today. She passed from Covid last October. She once told me that she just wanted to make it 100 and she did. Such a sweet lady and I got to spend 4 days with her in 2017. I learned a lot. She even let me tape her talking. Idt if any family members know that I have those recordings. That's what makes them even dearer to my heart.

This card was easy to alter. All I had to do was change the sentiment.

The brads are the type with the ability to put ribbon or in this case, I did lace through them.

Here's a picture of those brads.

Detailed Christmas Tree Cards

Merry Christmas to all!

I have these two Christmas Tree cards situated in front of our Christmas tree.

Why? Because it has been at least 3 years since we put a tree up and I want to document the occasion.

The tree stamp is by PSX Petaluma, CA. (k-495)

The die-cuts by Gina Marie and Spellbinders

I used a Tim Holtz stencil for the yellow background
The embossing folder on the right is by Sizzix

Mistletoe Christmas Cards

I've talked about this before but not yet this year. Many years ago my uncle's friend's mother went into a nursing home and I was donated all of her Christmas stamps. With those stamps came images that were already stamped and colored.

These mistletoe images were made by her and then I made them into cards

The stamp was by PSX circa 1995. lol

She did amazing work like THIS card where she fussy cut out the Santa Clause. I would never be able to do that. Here is another Santa card she made.

Love is Patient, Love is Kind

I have two cards with the same stamp. They are on Spellbinders die-cuts
Flower sticker from Jolee's
Distress ink on the inside of the die-cut.
Yellow scrap of paper.

I used the Fastenator on this card. One of the things I had to have and never use it.
The flowers are punches and the rest of the paper are scraps from my stash.

Deep Red stamps Beach Day Card

I used the Deep Red stamps Beach chair stamp.
I stamped it onto watercolor paper and colored it in with distress ink. I created a sunray by masking with a Post-it note. The Beach Day was cut out using my Cricut from the When I was a Kid cartridge size 1 1/4. This card was made for a secretary at Paul's school for Secretaries Day.

The background paper is stamped with a Hero Arts stamp using Close to My Heart pink ink. The mason jar stamp is by Inkadinkado and the heart stamp is by Hero Arts. Deep Red Stamps Fall Card

Today's card features a couple of stamps by

There are so many layers to this card. The background patterned paper is by Provo Craft {very old}. Then there is a charcoal colored patterned paper that is by DCWV. Thr corrugated piece of kraft cardstock is by Oriental Trading Co. I have a Fiskars tool that corrugated the cardstock.

The frame is unknown however I stamped it with a Deep Red background stamp called Crochet Background.
You can find the stamp at
or
I stamped it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger's copper embossing powder. I inked the frame with distress ink

 Then we have two pieces of wood veneers by Maya Road that I painted with Ranger Adirondack Metallics Acrylic pint in gold and mixed with copper Perfect Pearls to give the copper color. {I don't have copper colored paint so I made my own}

On the pennant wood veneer I stamped the word friend from the If Friends were Flowers stamp to get my sentiment.
You can find this stamp at
or
In hind site I wish I would have stamped it with a darker color but by this point I wasn't going back.

The doily was made by my Grandmother in law and then I layered a Ranger/Tim Holtz Idealology foliage with a brad. The other brad is from the same package.

Friend Card

So I made this card using a flower set from Newton's Nook. I really love the different vases and this jar for the flowers they have in the set. I stamped the jar, flowers and word stamps with black Hero Arts ink onto Ranger's distress watercolor paper. Then I colored the flowers in with distress markers, inked the edges with distress ink and made the inside of the jar blue with distress ink. Then I added Glossy Accents to the inside of the jar. The rest of my card the patterned paper is by DCWV and Pebbles, the ribbon by Stampin Up the yellow cardstock by Recollections and punch by EK Success.

Mason Jar You're How Old?

I'm back with another mason jar card. You may recall me telling you that I bought these Jolee's stickers and decided to cut them open from the back where the lid would cover the opening. I've filled the first couple up with sequins which you can see HERE and HERE. This one is filled with beads by Craft Medley.

I stamped the number background stamp by Hero Arts with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with Stamp N Plus white embossing powder. The patterned paper is an oldie by My Mind's Eye. The cardstock on top is by Stampin up and the whole card has it's edges inked with Ranger's distress ink. The sentiment is computer generated.

Thanks for looking.

MERRY WREATH DIE-CUT CARD for Christmas Cards all Year Round September Challenge

Today starts the new challenge at Christmas Cards All Year Round. This month you must use kraft on your card.

I used kraft in two places for today's card. The first is the wreath die cut where I used Oriental Trading Co kraft cardstock. While the paper was still in the die I inked the raised areas with Mowed Lawn distress ink by Ranger. The sentiment is a die-cut by Stampin Up that I adhered multiple together to add dimension. Then I covered the top layer with clear Wink of Stella glitter. After that, I added Sparkle Style red rhinestones to the wreath around the sentiment.

The red cardstock is by Creative Memories and the die cut is by Spellbinders. The second place where I used kraft is the card base by Recollections.

That's it for now. Thanks for looking. UPDATED 8-29-21

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Day 4 Tami

Stretch Your Stamps 2 is winding down tomorrow and I want to get a few more cards uploaded before they close and go into archive mode.

These two cards were inspired by Tami Hartley. They took a long time to create only because I was apprehensive about the size and shapes not matching each other. I finally got over it and just let it go. I think they are a little kitchy {I'm not sure how it's spelled} with the foam stickers but I really like them and they are easy to mail at regular postage.

The stamps are by Lawn Fawn, black ink by Hero Arts, distress inks and watercolor paper by Ranger, The floss is old from my MIL's stash, and the patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye. The foam stickers are from Hobby Lobby that I bought for my niece but I took a handful out before wrapping it.

This one has a few differences; a glittery sled, different arrangement of the pennants, and the pennants have multiple colors of distress inks.

Thanks for looking.
