August 2023 Virtual Crop Class with Debs

Happy Scrappy Sunday to you all and welcome to the second class of the day

I've designed these pages using papers, rub-ons and frames from this beautiful, jam packed Simple Vintage Life in Bloom kit. These papers and rub-ons in this collection lend themselves beautifully to creating layered clusters on our layouts.  I made three layouts using this class kit and there's still plenty to spare to make cards and gift tags.

Instructions for this class layout inspiration can be found here
As always we love to see you get up to so please share your pages in our ATDML#Create Facebook page.

Hope you have a blissfully creative afternoon.

August Virtual Crop class with Ann

Well today crept up on me rather so I apologise in advance for the brief instructions - but the pages are basic enough that I think you could make them just by looking at the pages!! (At least I am hoping so)

For those of you who didn't get the class kit feel free to scraplift using your own stash and do share with us on our Facebook group ATDML#CREATE.

I have made two pages today, the fabulous (!) instructions for which can be found here!

Enjoy and Tricia is up next at 2pm with your third class today. Happy Sunday!

The Fourth it should be a virtual crop challenge but isn't Challenge...get messy

Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying the summer sunshine....here is another challenge in for you to enjoy.  I love a bit of paint, stencilling, ink, stamping on my page so your challenge is to get a bit messy with a layout - it must have some form of mess on it, so here are a few pages to inspire you to dig out your inks and paints.

This one you start with spritzing your page with water and then add inks and let them run into each other - the paper will crinkle, but flattens out in time in your album.  There is also a little bit of stencilling with texture paint and inks on here too.

If you don't like too messy then go with a watercolour or paint effect patterned paper and just add a few flicks of paint to your page.

Maybe you want to create a serious mixed media piece with chipboard, embossing inks, stamping and use lots of paint and ink.

This is one of my favourite pages from this year - using my Christmas scarf for inspiration!  Use a plastic bag (the sort that you get stickers and embellishments in - the smooth plastic ones rather than a sandwich bag), add a bit of ink from a water-based ink pad like distress ink flat onto the bag, then tiny spritz of water and use the plastic bag like a stamp over your page - remember to dry between the different colour layers (distress oxides work really well for this type of page)

Moving into the acrylic zone, and lots of paint and drying time - colour chipboard pieces, create thick layers of paint in your favourite colours and dry brush a background to co-ordinate....so very little water on this page (apart from all the brush washing!)

A little more acrylic paint - again dry brushed onto the page, but a brayer also works nicely for covering a wide area of paper with just a thin layer of paint!

Share your pages over on our Facebook page, I would love to see what you create! ATDML # Create Facebook Page

August Virtual Crop Class 3 with Ann Freeman

Welcome all to your third and final class for today - a nice easy one for me which I think is great every now and then to just help get those memories into albums. Sometimes this is what I like to do, others I prolong the creative process to enjoy that aspect of the hobby too.

So today I bring you two layouts and enough left over products for a birthday card.
The kit was using Simple Stories Happy Day collection which whilst a birthday themed range can be used for other celebrations if you're a little creative!

Simple Stories website has some other great layout ideas with this collection too which can be found HERE.  Don't have this collection but another from Simple Stories, then follow the design concepts for a similar looking page with different theme/colours. Failing that make it up as you go along with your own products!!

Thanks for joining in - go download your FREE instructions for my class this month HERE

August Virtual Crop - Class 1 with Karen

Good morning lovely scrappers.  I hope you are ready for a day of inspiration with our August Virtual Crop classes.

My two page layout class uses the very pretty Enchanted Garden range by Bo Bunny.  I have to say teal and lilac may well be my new favourite colour combo!

Page 1 uses a 6 x 4 portrait photo and I had the perfect one for the papers - my two favourite girlies in the bluebells.

The photo on page 2 was taken the same day and it is of the three of us - a Famfie (family selfie).

I hope you enjoy making these layouts - the instructions can be found here and pop back at 12 noon to see what Katherine has been up to with her August kit!

August Virtual Crop Challenge

Happy Saturday scrapbookers and welcome to another virtual crop day with your design team. As always we will kick start the day with a challenge.

On August 20th, 1977 the Emotions started a five week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Best Of My Love', which made it to No.4 in the UK.

Your challenge today is to create a page along the theme of love, or perhaps featuring another emotion!! Let your imagination run wild and don't forget to share your creations on our Facebook page.
