Hey all! I know, long time no see right?? This working thing really cuts into my style! I'm so behind this month at Lasting Memories but I am spending this week catching up! Our theme for May is "Life's Affirmations" and each week we have had a theme which I'll show you throughout this week! But this week, our theme is "Strength" and I chose to showcase a 2 page layout from when my daughter was 6 - she had never played ball and she was pretty scared about the whole thing but she conquered her fear and ended up playing all positions and had a blast!

Friendship Month at LM!

DSC#45 - Sunshine & Summertime

I'm late! Ugh! Story of my life this summer lol it's just been so hot that crafting even takes to much energy! The storms are coming through now and it has cooled off considerable. Off with the AC and open up those windows!! We have a new challenge at Digitally Sweet today! We're all about "Sunshine and Summertime" with Template Dreams. Myself and Ali both used the same kit, "water everywhere" so be sure to see the different takes on it. I took these photos of our daughter a couple weeks ago on the beach by our house and absolutely love them. She looks so grown up (she'll be 13 in Oct) and so beautiful. This was the night of her friends Gr 8 graduation and we took advantage of it and had her hair done. Just a moment to treasure as she moves into her last year of public school in Sept. Hard to believe. Both our kids will graduate in a year! One from Gr 8 and the other from Gr 12!

Hi everyone! TGIF!! Our challenge this week at Digitally Sweet is 

"Anything Goes with Bright Colours"

I couldn't resist these photos my daughter took of herself a couple weeks ago. We went to her friends gr 8 graduation, so I took advantage of that and had her hair done and then did a little photo shoot down by the water. On the way home from the grad, she grabbed my camera and started snapping shots of herself. She certainly had fun!

I didn't add a date on there because I have to confirm it first, but Ashleigh's about 4 I think? This dress was made for her and she looks like a little Cinderella.

LMCB #83 - "Man's Best Friend"

Hello and Happy Easter!!! Today's a new challenge at Lasting Memories and we're challenging you to use those "April Showers" photo's! Whether it's playing in the rain, showing off some blooms .. we want to see it all! My layout today is from 2 springs ago - it rained and rained and then we ended up with this BIG puddle in the backyard. It just wouldn't go away. Turns out the neighbors water main had broke. This thing was in our backyard for a couple weeks easily!! Oh well, Ashleigh and of course the dogs made the best of it and it made for awesome photo's!!!! Thank you so much for joining us last week at Lasting Memories!! It's time for a new challenge and this week, we're "Layering It Up"!! What do you love to layer up on your layouts? Paper, flowers, embellishments??? I absolutely LOVE to layer up my CTMH flip flaps!! As my friends can tell you, I use them whenever and wherever I can. I love that I can add more and more photo's on a pg without cluttering up my page. The bottom photo is done with flip flaps and I was able to add 4 extra photo's this way!!

Good morning!! Did you get a chance to check out my Cards For Emily post yesterday? If not, pls do!! It's VERY important for a very special little girl!! Now onto today's challenge at Lasting Memories. We're challenging you to use the word LOVE on your layout. We also have a super giveaway from Michele in honor of her birthday today!! For my LO today, I chose a pattern from my CTMH "Reflections" book and then I added more photo's using flip flaps. I love how it turned out. It's hard to see, but in the circle, it says "love this" - as you can see, my daughter loved doing this photo shoot with me. More layouts to come over the next couple days!!!

LMCB #73 - "We're Trashin' Our Layouts" this week!

Hey All!! It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at Lasting Memories!! Bet my post title had you thinking, "What the heck is she talking about?" We're asking you to use your 'trash' on your layouts this week. Scraps of paper, ribbon, old stickers..whatever it is, if it's scraps, it's perfect for this week's challenge! I try to keep my paper scraps with the corresponding paper, so when I finally chose my pics for this LO, I dug out my CTMH "Sasparilla" paper and here's all the scraps I had!!! (note that circle as you'll see it on my layout)

Here's what I came up with! Can you pick out the pieces from my scraps? I also had some tiny bits and pieces of flax around, so I pierced the little stars and sewed them. That black ribbon was actually in my trash bin for some reason, so out it came!! What do ya think??

Here's another layout from out Muskoka trip. I'm trying to get this album done before we put our digi order in. I love this LO. Ashleigh can be quite the ham, especially in front of the camera as you can see!! Never a dull moment with our girl!!

Learning To Drive!

Hello!! It's snowy outside which means it's cozy inside and since I'm just sitting, I thought what better time to do a layout I've been wanting to do. Tiffany is starting a new challenge blog in Feb called "Child's Play Challenges" and is currently running a DT call. We were given this image ...

And asked to make a layout based on it. This is what I came up with! I chose 2 photo's that I thought were fun (look at Ashleigh's face!!) She had never driven before and had so much fun!! I used my Memories Suite "Classmates" paper and embellishments. Love how it turned out!!

Pool Time Fun

Sneaking in a couple layouts before my Lasting Memories post in the morning! I've been getting in here whenever I can to get caught up on pics. Ashleigh is 3 here and she'll be 11 next month! I love these pics. Such a happy child and I remember this day like it was yesterday too. Another reason I love my camera!! Enjoy your night!

A Special Bond Between Friends

I was going to wait and post this, but I (obviously lol) couldn't!! This is my daughter back in '04. She wasn't quite 4 yrs old. When she was smaller, our cat had kittens in her bedroom and I actually had to help this one as mom was too tired to open her sac. Once I did that, mom perked up and took over. That kitten and our daughter had a special bond from day 1 and as you can see ... Patches let Ashleigh do anything to her. Still does to this day!! They certainly have quite a bond!!

Here's another digital image I did at Daisytrail. You can dl the free software there and there's a lot of great kits available as well. I can see this becoming addicting!! I can sit and play while the kid's are having lunch without making a mess and worrying about them getting into my crafty stuff. These are photo's that my sister's friend, Johanna, took. Aren't they beautiful?? Now I just have to figure out how to print these. Have a great day!!
