Kathie's Four Corners - Week 22

Like some other posters, I also liked this block for it's ease of construction and it's look. It can take on different looks depending on where you place the lights and darks. Kathie L in Allentown

Trying to Catch Up

I decided to make the block from a couple of weeks ago. The one called 'Four Corners'. It seemed like an easy one. I used some very pastel-like baby colours.

Our quilt guild is planning to make some tiny quilts for premies at Sick Kids Hospital. They have very strict regulations for these little quilts. I am not sure exactly what they are looking for, but I heard that they should be 18in. square, with no batting and just a layer of flannelet for a backing. I think a 3in. border all around this block would make a perfect little premie quilt.

More Corners.

I went back to my Christmas prints for this one, since I have several more to do before I finish the Christmas Quilt. I was doing star-variations in 12" blocks last year (among other quirky fabric choices) but never got enough finished to have a quilt... so many blocks, so little time. Maybe by this Christmas I'll be done.

"Four Corners" is a nice, friendly block, and since it goes together so quickly, I may use it to make one of the two graduation quilts I need for next year. The secondary pattern really makes this quilt special... I'll let you know.

Four Corners

This was a fun and easy block to sew, and came out to exactly the right size!

Week 22

This week's block is called 'Four Corners'. It's a 12-inch block.

I have had no time to make blocks in the past few weeks. My garden has kept me busy. But I hope to catch up soon.

Happy Sewing!
