In case you missed it the first set of cards were shared last Friday HERE. Today I'm sharing a couple more ideas and both of these have more of an industrial feel to them (click on any image to get a closer look);
Rather conveniently I had to make a card for a family birthday and had some fun with the 'I Heart Washi Tape' stamp set to make the background. The strips in this set give you the illusion of having applied tape and yet the ability to colour it your way. Just imagine using them in your journals!
The background was created by dipping a piece of Watercolor Paper into slightly diluted Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, then stamping the Washi Tape images over with Archival Ink. I then pressed a number of Distress Oxide Ink pads onto my craft mat and picked up the colour using a waterbrush, painting it over the tape images. To clean your waterbrush of the existing ink stroke it over some scrap paper rather than using dry paper towel in order to allow the water to continue to flow. I cut the 18 from spare card covered in metal foil (make life easier for yourself by using Metallic Kraft Card as I then did for the letters and outer border). The numbers were embossed with the Rouages embossing folder and all of the metal surfaces then aged with a little Black Soot Distress Paint.
When my Carabelle Studio stamps arrived this was the one I was most keen to play with and it surely didn't disappoint. Definitely a favourite for fans of steampunk, this quirky design can be used relatively simply, as I have done here, or in a more complicated way by stamping it onto different surfaces and paper-piecing it together. I can also imagine the fun possibilities for using embossing powders with it.
This one started much like the previous card by dipping a piece of Watercolor Paper into slightly diluted Frayed Burlap and this time Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I used the Stamp Platform to stamp the main image onto the card with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink, leaving the stamp in place and cleaning away any remaining ink in readiness for the final layer. As I painted each section with different Distress Paints the Oxide ink melted into it and added easy shading. Once dry I was able to re-stamp the image accurately over the previous layers with Archival Ink by putting the paper back into the Stamp Platform. The words in the stamp set made a great background image as well as a raised focal point, and more of that aged Metallic Kraft Card created the perfect border.
So that's two more ideas to tempt you. Catch up on the previous cards HERE and remember, all things Carabelle Studio have that extra 15% discount applied at The Funkie Junkie Boutique through November 9th.
Take care of yourselves and get creative!
