Twofer: Harvest + Muse #286 + CTD514 + Seize the Birthday AND MCV#110

I have three cards to share today. The first two were inspired by the Twofer Card Challenge #10: Harvest Challenge.

It is easy to see the Harvest connection with my sympathy card using the fall colors on the leaves. The lily on the birthday card is a bit more of a reach as I thought of planting fall bulbs to harvest spring and summer flowers.

Mama Elephant Freestyle Floral images and PTI Penned Elegance stamps are used on both cards.

Tracey's Muse #286 card inspired the rectangular wreath of leaves and buds. Copic markers in the Color Throwdown #514 colors filled in the sketchy shapes.

The sentiment is positioned first on the birthday card and then the floral images stamped and masked before being colored with Copic markers. The finished panel is popped up on a purple card base.

This card is being linked to Seize the Birthday where Anything Goes for the current challenge.

My third card is inspired by Cornelia's starry night for Muse ChristmasVisions #110, using the inked sky, trees and sentiment.

The Poppystamps Open Hillside and Snowscape dies are layered for this card. The sky piece of the Snowscape is inked with Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress inks before being adhered to the card base and the snowflakes inset back in place.

The PTI sentiment is stamped on the Open Hillside die cut before it is layered on the card base.

Color Throwdown #498 Guest Star Stamper

I'm thrilled to be joining the design team for Color Throwdown #498 as the Guest Star Stamper this week!

I was excited to see the colors peach, pale pink, hot pink and green for the challenge and thought they would be perfect for coloring my Memory Box Llama Love stamps.

The llama, hat and blanket were all stamped, die cut and colored before being adhered together and popped up on the wonky stitched oval. This oval panel is adhered to s slightly larger oval die cut that gives a sliver of a hot pink border.

I hope these colors inspire you to play along with Color Throwdown #498 this week!

MIM #324 + CTD #496

I loved Michelle Leone's challenge to add Lots o' Dots for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday but was limited by my collection of Nuvo Drops. Can I call it a collection if I only have two bottles?

Then I saw the colors for Color Throwdown #496 and started playing with white on white dimension with the dots.

Three images and a sentiment from the PTI What the Doodle: Feather Mini stamp set are added to the panel first. Parts of the largest feather are colored with a Copic marker or highlighted with the Simply White Nuvo Crystal  Drops.

Twofer #5: Butterflies + CTD#493 + Seize the Birthday

I squeaking in at the deadline for Color Throwdown #493 with my entry for Twofer Challenge #5: Butterflies.

A watercolor panel is colored with a lime green and aqua Zig markers and the Poppystamps Princess Butterfly die cut first. The white panel is stamped with a MFT Brushed Birthdays sentiment and then the large butterfly adhered just along the center line. Needing a few more butterflies, an ancient Martha Stewart punch came to the rescue.

This card is also being added to Seize the Birthday in the Anything Goes category.

With Twofer challenge to make something entirely different with the butterfly die, I transformed it into angel wings on this second card.

A triangle die from PTI's Hello Sunshine provided the body and a small circle die the head. I am kind of in love with the way this clean and simple card turned out.

All that was needed is a simple sentiment from PTI Merry Christmas mini stamp set embossed with a glitter gold to finish off the design.

FMS #335 + CTD #491 + Seize the Birthday Anything Goes

Are you lucky enough to live near crafting friends? Earlier this week my CASology teammate, Joyce, invited me over to play. Getting together with a card making friend means stamping and die cutting with products I don't have in my stash, and at the top of my list to stamp off was an older PTI stamp set, Friendship Jar Spring Fillers, because of the beautiful tulip bouquet.

Even after stamping and die cutting a few bouquets I still wasn't done with these tulips and Joyce was generous enough to let me take the set home to play with heat embossing and watercoloring.

For this bouquet I used the Color Throwdown #491 colors and then realized the Freshly Made Sketches #225 would provide the perfect design to use it on a card.

Zig Real Brush markers are used to color the image before the stems were wrapped with twine to bring in the Kraft color. An Avery Elle sentiment is stamped on the PTI Tiny Tag and the completed die cut is popped up on the scalloped oval panel.

I am also linking this card to Seize the Birthday where Anything Goes for the current challenge.

Muse #261 + Color Throwdown #488

The bright spring flowers in Tracey's Muse #261 design really caught my eye this week. I took the  floral spray and sentiment from her design and paired them with the Color Throwdown #488 colors.

The Avery Elle Mother's Day floral image is stamped on a white panel and colored with Copic markers. The top of the image is fussy cut and the rest of the panel trimmed with a stitched rectangle die before the hello sentiment from Avery Elle Brushed is finished with the PTI Simply Spring Borders spring stamp.

The stamped panel is popped up on an aqua polka dot patterned paper panel and a trio of Pretty Pink Posh jewels added to complete the card.

FMS #329 + CTD #485 + Simon Says Floral Frenzy

I have another quick share tonight as the deadline is rapidly approaching for Freshly Made Sketches #329.  I took my cue from Jennifer Timko and created this quick card using the same Taylored Expression Mandala Cutting Plate she used on her design team card.

A white panel is inked with an ombre of Abandoned Coral Distress Ink, moving from an intense, concentrated color in the center to a light touch of color at the outside edges. The white die cut is adhered to the inked panel and then to a matching card base.

A Wink of Stella adds a bit of glitter to the center circle and Pretty Pink Posh jewels add more to the outer design. The MFT Essential Sentiment is heat embossed on a black sentiment strip to finish off the card.

My color palette came from Color Throwdown #485 and I'm also linking this card to the Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp where Simon Says Floral Frenzy this week.

FMS #323 + CTD #479 + JUGS #426 + PSC #41

Several challenges went into making this card, starting with the sketch for Freshly Made Sketches #323 and colors from Color Throwdown #479. Given the love theme from Just Us Girls #426 and Poppystamps Challenge #41 to use hearts, it wasn't long before this design came together.

A white panel is inked with Festive Berries and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks and various sizes of the Poppystamps Love Balloon dies cut out. The die cuts are arranged on a heart embossed panel to mimic the color blocking of the sketch.

The Poppystamps Sentiments of Love stamp is paired with a Memory Box Sketchbook Love die to provide the sentiment.

Twofer #1 + CTS #254 + CTD #476 + Simon Says Add a Sentiment

I was thrilled to see Feathers as the inaugural challenge at the new challenge, Twofer Card Challenge.   The challenge is to use the same stamp or die on two cards for different occasions and with different designs.

The biggest part of the challenge may have been deciding which feather images to use, but I finally picked my Spellbinders dies because I love the shapes & detailed impressions in these feathers.

This first card is a sympathy card made using the design from CAS(E) This Sketch #254 and colors from Color Throwdown #476.

The largest feather die is cut from watercolor paper lightly colored with Zig markers. A couple of white feathers are also die cut, along with an MFT mini-scalloped circle frame and several banners. The sentiment is from PTI With Sympathy.

The second card uses the same three dies as the first card, along with two more, to cut feathers from a brightly colored watercolor paper panel.

A sentiment from PTI Stylish Sentiments: Birthdays is stamped on the panel before the feathers are adhered. Just a touch of glue is used at the center of each feather so that have a bit of lift and add dimension to the card.

I am also linking this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog where Simon Says Add a Sentiment this week.
