A seriously OCD guy bought this Daytona, it was his first car, and after 5169 miles, he built a house to keep it safely on jackstands in a climate-controlled environment, and yes, that is crazy, but true
This was the owner's first new car, which he cherished. In fact, his house was specially designed and built to safely store the Daytona in a climate-controlled environment.
This car was ordered on June 28, 1983, but in 1984 the owner got freaked out that someone might damage his first new car, so he quit driving it. The car was stored on jack stands so the suspension wouldn't settle and the tires wouldn't develop flat spots

So, there must be a hell of a lot of associated respectability that comes with a 4 year degree from McPherson college, 'cause this young woman just graduated and got a job managing Craig Jackson’s personal collection, and curating at Barrett-Jackson is her first job after graduating
or is it her daily driver? A 401 AMX Javelin!
Julia Berger’s AMX is 1 of 745 made with the 401 Go Package
the 401 Go Package was an extra $499, which netted the engine plus Handling Suspension (heavy duty springs and shocks and thicker front anti-roll bar), a fiberglass hood with cowl air induction, where the drop in vacuum under hard acceleration triggered a switch that opened a wide flap at the rear to pull intake air from the high-pressure area near the windshield’s base.
Also the Go Package upgraded the car to a heavy-duty cooling system, Twin-Grip differential, power front disc brakes, 15-inch Rally wheels, and E60-15 Polyglas raised white-letter tires, plus a four-speed stick or the Borg-Warner Shift-Command automatic.
The AMX stood apart from the standard Javelin with a flush-mounted mesh grille featuring large round parking lamps. A spoiler at the back of the roof and another on the decklid, plus distinctive T-stripe on the hood and blacked-out rear body panel amped up the muscle car persona.
That's got to impress the job interview people when you cruise up in this cool beast! THEN you pass over a copy of the college degree, and I think that probably nails down the job for you.
Sports Car Graphic recorded 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and the quarter-mile in 14.3 at 98.8 mph for the Go Package 401 AMX they tested
It looks like she started with a better than average long term storage example of a project car, it had been parked in a Virginia barn for 23 years.
that had been owned by her stepmother’s old high school friend. She decided to do a full rebuild on the 401, using aftermarket pistons to get 10.5:1 compression. A Holley Dominator EFI setup replaced the Motorcraft four-barrel carb.
Rather than rebuild the original automatic, Berger installed a General Motors 4L80E transmission and replaced the rear with a Ford 8.8-inch unit.
For more modern handling, Berger lowered the Javelin using QA1 coilovers up front and double-adjustable shocks in the back. These were not made for the Javelin, so she had to do some machining in front and had to relocate the rear shocks to make everything work. She gave her Javelin a set of American Racing Torque Thrusts, 15x8 inches with 225/60R15 rubber up front and 15x10 inches with 295/50R15s out back.
It took her 30 months to finish the car, just completing it this April, only 3 months ago
Either she's smarter than most teens, or someone told her the path to riches and fantastic cars lay in being a private collection manager, because that was her goal since high school.

Ever hear about the limited edition (90 made) Bill Mitchell Special Vehicle Developments Hugger Camaro Z28 built to commemorate the 24-Hours of Daytona.?
Jut sold for 27.5k at Barrett Jackson Palm Beach
These cars were designed with the help of Bill Mitchell, of GM Special Vehicle Development. These special Z/28s were built to commemorate the 24-Hours of Daytona.
They came with Hugger Orange paint, special wheels and tires, improved gearing, special handling packages, KONI shocks, front spoilers, special steering wheel and appearance enhancements.
The 350ci engine remains in stock condition, with the addition of ceramic-coated Patriot headers. A B&M standard lock-out shifter operates the original GM TH350 automatic transmission. New KONI Classic shocks replaced the older units. A bronze anodized MOMO steering wheel replaces the black Hugger GM wheel.
The original Hugger fascia fog lights were replaced with new Hella amber lights. The interior was improved to like-new stock condition with the addition of a RetroSound Bluetooth stereo/phone system.
It has been kept in a climate-controlled collection and has 30,070 original miles (the title reads mileage exempt).

Ron Pratte liquidated his collection of 140 vehicles, and donated all proceeds to the Armed Forces Foundation
The dual supercharged Cobra that had been the 5.5 million dollar sale some years ago when Carroll Shelby auctioned it off sold for 5.115 million this time...
The Futureliner went for 4 million, and the Bonneville Special that went with it sold for 3.3 million
Tuesday was the special sale day for 110 of Ron's vehicles, and Saturday was set aside for the best 30
Showing just how over rated, and over valued some cars were in the 2008 crazy auction price days, the Howard Hughes '53 Buick Roadmaster that Ron paid 1.6 million for went for 1/10th that amount this time... as no one really wants an inconsequential museum piece with very little notoriety. The racing planes Howard Hughes flew might for for millions, but some Buick? Nope. Not a lot of rich people want to go home with that.
The Blastolene B-702 French Curve went for 550,000
Chezoom went for 375,000
The Beverly Hillbillies truck by Barris went for 275,000
Coddington customs went for between 150,000 and 250,000
A COPO Camaro went for 330,00
A Yenko Chevelle went for 275,000
Le Bestione went for 143,000
the JF Customs Savoy wagon went for 242,000
The Crosley hook and ladder went for 115,500
the 62 WinterNats swiss cheese 61 Hurst Catalina Super Duty only went for 82 thou

Ron Pratt is auctioning off his collection... Whoa! I did not see that coming!
Unlike previous auctions where Ron has sold a handful of his collection, Barrett-Jackson has confirmed that they will be auctioning off the entire collection in January 10-18 of 2015 with television coverage on Velocity and Discovery.
