Sadly, advertising is prioritized over saving lives in emergencies.

Above, that IS a tire rack commercial BEFORE the video on how to use a defibrillator. (and tire commercials are what I post about, so I feel validated about posting about this issue)

Why the hell am I grouching and grumbling about a video on defib's?

I am currently watching a favorite tv series "Ghosts", season 2 episode 10, and the characters had a situation where they needed to use a defibrillator, and when trying to save a life, they grabbed a cell phone to see how to use the defib,

"OK I got the defibrillator"

"Everybody stand back"

"I just have to check a quick youtube video"

and then remarked "why would they put an ad in front of something like this?"

and THAT got me wondering, IS Youtube SO DAMN GREEDY that they will push a commercial before you can see a video as potentially emergency life saving as a How To Use a Defibrillator?

Yes. You can see the title of the video "How to use an AED"

That's how terrible a value system the people who run Youtube have.

Imagine getting a notice in the mail saying you had an unpaid $154 parking ticket from a city where your car has never been. And no one in govt will answer your call, text, email, or meet with you

The ticket was made out to the same license plate number assigned to Barr’s 2018 Toyota Prius.

This ticket was entered on November 16th, 2023, at 6:37 pm for obstructing traffic or hazardous parking. “

Barr’s calendar shows she went to a doctor’s appointment that day, helped a friend recovering from a stroke and drove to another friend’s house for dinner.

“I’m in St. Petersburg and I have quite a few people who can say I was,” Barr said.

She says her car’s transponder even shows her Prius passed over the Pinellas Bayway toll bridge moments before the ticket was issued more than 250 miles away.

Records from the parking department also show the citation was entered to a while-four-door Ford, not to Barr’s Toyota Prius.

Though the govt is OBVIOUSLY in the wrong, and NOT working for society the govt SENT HER CASE TO COLLECTIONS!

SO, since this went from nonsense to collections, to affecting her credit score, drivers license suspension, etc...

She contacted the ABC Action I Team, who contacted a Miami-Dade court spokesperson last week who got the case dismissed but refused to give any explanation of what went wrong. The spokesperson says the credit agency will be notified that the case is no longer in collections.

"I'm not trying to get out of something I did. I’m trying to solve a problem of something I didn’t do,” Barr said. The Miami-Dade parking office offers people an opportunity to request a court hearing to dispute citations, but Barr said that would have cost her even more time and money.

What's the take away on this?

The govt even at it's lowest most useless clock punching bored DMV bureaucrat traffic court level, does NOT give a fuck about right and wrong, won't lift a damn finger to help you and is only afraid of bad publicity getting in the way of their career advancement to a lucrative pension.

instead of tackling big business, who can afford to adapt, New York elected officials are hassling food venders, cart pushers and ice cream truck operators (estimated at only 200 trucks in the city) instead of requiring all city, county, and state vehicles (including their own) to be electric (thousands of police, garbage, meter maids, etc etc vehicles)

Far-left Brooklyn Councilman Lincoln Restler introduced the proposal that would force ice cream trucks, and then roll out into construction site food vendor trucks next, to adopt eco-friendly power sources, solar-powered or electric-powered machines, the vendors would be required to ditch their fuel-powered generators for more climate-friendly alternatives over the course of the next three years.

Back in June, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) drafted new rules that would require pizzerias with coal and wooden-fire ovens installed prior to 2016 to cut carbon emissions by 75%, according to the New York Post.

“In the dog days of August, it’s hard to imagine more of a killjoy than putting one’s climate bullseye on our iconic ice cream man, but behold, I give you Councilman Lincoln Restler,” quipped Council Minority Leader Joe Borelli (R-Staten Island).

Restler, a notorious hater of cars, confirmed that it’s in response to complaints he’s received about diesel-spewing ice cream trucks stinking up Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) and other neighborhoods.

Leon Frierson has been working his Mr. Softee truck since 1968, says he's ready to retire with this change to business costs

“The proliferation of ice cream vendors creates noise, pollution and major traffic issues in our neighborhood with no concern for the impact on the residents of DUMBO,” the committee said in a statement. “We hope the passage of this bill, along with stricter enforcement of existing traffic and vendor laws will help mitigate this ongoing issue.

this is proof that Cadillac is still stupid about marketing

it's been a long time since I've made the time to read magazines, and Road and Track sure has a lot of articles and information, that hasn't got shit to do with the road, or the track... but is still interesting. Good writers.

Laws are for subjects, not rulers

Boston City Councilor Kendra Lara was driving a Honda Civic at least 53 miles per hour on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain when she crashed an unregistered, uninsured car into the front of a house on a Friday afternoon last month.

The report also revealed that Lara has not had a valid Massachusetts driver’s license since 2013, when it was suspended after she failed to pay a fine for not wearing a seatbelt.

her 7-year-old son, who was injured in the crash, was not in a child seat.

a Delta Airlines pilot was asleep, at about 11pm, in the Revere Hotel on Stuart Street, Boston (damn, nice expensive hotel room! Is the airline paying for that?) when the FBI woke him up rudely, and interrogated him, for an hour, by mistake.

To no one's shock, the FBI were having a training exercise, in the expensive hotel (you don't expect them to get their suits filthy in any cheap hotel, on the some of some highway, do you?) on the 15th floor, and they screwed up what room the actor who would be portraying a criminal, was supposed to be in, that they were supposed to interrogate.

They handcuffed the pilot and cold shower interrogated him for nearly an hour before realizing their mistake, sources said.

Is that possibly code for water boarding? Yup.

It was meant to simulate a situation they "might encounter in a deployed environment," officials told USA TODAY."They were mistakenly sent to the wrong room," according to a statement from the FBI. While there, the federal authorities detained the room's occupant in an incident that appeared to stretch on for longer than an hour, a police report shows.

When Boston Police arrived, they confirmed it was a botched federal training exercise. the US Army Special Operations Command were conducting “essential military training” in Boston on Tuesday with local FBI agents, Lieutenant Colonel Mike Burns at U.S. Army Special Operations Command told The Boston Globe.

“The training was meant to enhance soldiers’ skills to operate in realistic and unfamiliar environments,” Burns said. “The training team, unfortunately, entered the wrong room and detained an individual unaffiliated with the exercise.”

Vic Hartman, a former 25-year veteran of the FBI, said the training exercise in public does not make sense to him.

people have problems.... but after a couple DUIs, isn't it a problem that the court system ought to solve? How many DUI's are too many? (Here are the facts on a woman's 8th, 9th, 10th convictions, the other 7 aren't online)

Anne Palmersheim was awaiting sentencing in for violating release conditions on her eighth drunken driving conviction in 2001, denied another DUI charge, this time her ninth and pleaded not guilty to drunken driving at age 51

https://billingsgazette.com/news/state-and-regional/montana/billings-woman-denies-9th-dui-in-carbon-county/article_ead1ba5e-0797-11df-b9e4-001cc4c03286.html

According to prosecutors, Anne Palmersheim, who already had nine DUI convictions in September 2020, was drunk when she swerved down a Butte street at a high speed on Sept. 6, 2020, drove through a detached garage and rammed a parked pickup into a house.

Her blood-alcohol content at the time of the crash was 0.229,  and she fled Montana to live with her daughter in Texas, where 20 months later she was arrested for driving drunk in April 2022.

No surprise, as anyone with 8 previous convictions of drunk driving, is a drunk driver, and will repeat that behavior as long as they can drink alcohol, they have a vehicle, and there is fuel in the tank.

Palmersheim's attorney said she had sold her house and liquidated retirement savings to pay for treatment, had completed an intense recovery program, was working and was living in a sober house.

Montana lawmakers in 2021 enhanced the penalties for fourth and subsequent DUI convictions, but this incident occurred in 2020. The maximum allowed then was five years in prison or DOC custody.

Palmersheim’s daughter said via video from Texas that her mother had struggled with mental health issues and addiction for most of her life.

She said Palmersheim entered an inpatient treatment program after the DUI in Texas and finally received a comprehensive evaluation and proper diagnosis. “I have seen the court systems and the medical systems fail her over and over again, and she was sick,” the daughter said.

In 2001, the Billings Gazette published this:

On Feb. 7 2001, Anne Palmersheim, was charged with her eighth DUI after she smashed her vehicle into a bathtub sitting in front of a house.

Billings Police Sgt. Tony Barone, who has been leading a local enforcement effort, cited the Legislature's recent decision to replace mandatory prison time for fourth or subsequent DUI offenders with treatment. Although treatment is needed, repeat offenders need to be punished, he said. Under Montana law, repeat offenders cannot be sentenced to more than 13 months of prison.

"We're going the opposite direction here in Montana," Barone said. "If you don't do enough to stop it, you're advocating it. That's what the state is doing."

Barone said the lack of stiff penalties and cavalier attitudes are partially to blame for the people in Billings with up to eight DUI convictions.

In Montana, 46 percent of the fatal crashes involving young people in 1999 also involved alcohol, Webb said. Across the nation, the average is 35 percent.

Do Laguna Beach cops have any modesty? No. Any clue when they are fucking up? No. Do they get embarrassed to be caught, lying, dishonest, and making shit up.... when they don't realize they are being recorded? Lets see.

https://at.tumblr.com/jaubaius/i-cant-catch-them-so-im-taking-it-out-on-you/9v5bv17wxvn7

What a retard.

The above clip gives more than the below...

I say that, and post the screen grab, because the below video does not run long enough to show the above, that retard that is clearly making shit up, after fucking up and telling the only law abiding biker for miles around, to pull over... when he was stopped at a stop light, and not revving his engine, as the video proves

I'll just say again, fuck the police. This bullshit simply is just another day ending in "Y" for them. No shame, no honesty, no professional behavior.
